Thinking back to my BP days makes me cringe to the point it is more painful than getting physically injured lmao

[–]Onidramon60 points61 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

I deal with past cringe just by cringing. Then getting back to work. I don't even expect the cringe to go away. I accept it as an eternally burning rash of embarrassment on the gooch of my past that solely exists to remind me that existence is suffering and to stay humble. Sometimes you forget all about it, sometimes it'll come out of nowhere and hit you like a wave of fuck on one random restless night when you're alone with your thoughts. I wish I could say that at some point it permanently gets better, but some things aren't meant to get better. Some things are meant to make you better at not fucking up again. To motivate you to take massive action and make new things happen, instead of trying alleviate feels from the residue what's already happened. And that's alright.

[–]bestCallEver1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

This. Coupled with trying to remember the past cringe moments of anyone else and realizing I can't, because no one else gives a Fuck about some stupid shit someone else said five years ago.

[–]DebonairD71 points72 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

Remember that you can’t change the past.

[–]Savaaage6 points7 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Don't forget that only the present moment matters.

[–]reyaan71 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

It is only your past that keeps changing.

[–][deleted] 33 points34 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

“That wasn’t me”

[–][deleted] 21 points22 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

Lol jk tho you just gotta remember you did the best you could when you were brain washed.

It wasn’t your fault.

Now that you have the keys tho, don’t fuck up. It will be your fault.

[–]UshankaDalek7 points8 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

This is what I do. I did the best I could with the information available to me. There's no other way it could have played out.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly this, OP. You did what you thought was right according to your past set of beliefs. Move on - now, do what you think is right according to your current set of beliefs.

[–]ay0135239 points10 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Let go of the ego, "that wasn't me". You're a different person now. The past doesn't matter, only the present

[–]kellykebab7 points8 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Develop a present-focused mindset. You really have to internalize the fact that Time is a train without a conductor. You will die on a day with no great significance or meaning and with no warning. The past is the very definition of pre-determined and the reality is that people judge you more by your last interaction than by the entirety of your previous interactions. Always focus on the Now and engage in today above all else.

These may sound like cheap platitudes, but once you understand on a deep level that life offers zero redos the more you will take the present moment seriously.

[–]herbage9234 points5 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Just know that means that your improving

[–]Mr_KenSpeckle3 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

  1. Use it as fuel as you pursue your mission.
  2. See it as validation of how far you’ve come.

People improve by making mistakes. That cringe got you here. Be greatful to the cringe.

[–]1InformalCriticism6 points7 points  (14 children) | Copy Link

Claim ignorance, deny everything, and blame another guy. Even if you were the other guy.

[–]2SirKolbath16 points17 points  (13 children) | Copy Link

Claim ignorance, deny everything, and blame another guy. Even if you were the other guy.

What are you, a fuckin' democrat now?

OP, just own it. You fucked up. Best part is that everyone has. Everyone in this subreddit has a blooper story they could tell. I don't know if mine is worse than yours, but it sure would make me cringe if I gave a fuck any more. I fucked up. It happens. Don't do that again and you'll be fine.

[–]derrtderr11 points12 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

“democrat”

WHOA! Language! Now everybody just calm down. You two shake hands.

[–]1InformalCriticism-3 points-2 points  (11 children) | Copy Link

What are you, a fuckin' democrat now?

And here, gentlemen, we have an example of why conservatives are no longer taken seriously in western politics.

The words I used were actually from my Army recruiter, except that last part was a bit of TRP wisdom to own your own shit.

[–]2SirKolbath6 points7 points  (4 children) | Copy Link

And here, gentlemen, we see how a rank beginner to TRP who has no frame, should not be attempting to give advice.

Since when does "own your own shit" mean "deny everything and blame someone else"? That is literally the exact fucking opposite.

PS: Liberalism is not compatible with TRP, as the concept of taking personal responsibility for your actions and not appealing to anyone, including the government, for a handout is mutually exclusive with the "gimme free shit and blame everyone else" philosophy of liberalism. And if you think liberals are being taken seriously, you clearly didn't see the shitshow that was the Kavanagh vetting.

Later, tater.

[–]1InformalCriticism-3 points-2 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

So classic. Someone pretending to know more than someone else based on no facts or evidence. Masterful.

If you added an ounce of intuition or social acuity, you might have gleaned the point within its context -- a fucking RECRUITER was quoted. Like, how daft could you be to miss THE ENTIRE POINT?!. Just goes to show these cheap shit TRP trolls aren't as smart as they wish they were. I wish we had the incels and the black pills here pre-quarantine to shield us from your empty rambling.

PS, even though I didn't need an edit to get my full nut, you're so dumb you think that what I said drew a political line in the sand. I know Kav dog got slapped with a pile of false accusations. You just don't understand English. It's really embarrassing for you. Work on yourself. One might even say, "own your shit" dipshit.

[–]SolarTortality0 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy Link

lol everyone look how hard this fag is raging lmfao hahaha #wrekt

[–]1InformalCriticism-2 points-1 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah, definitely raging right now. Mispelled hastags must be all the rage in mothers basements these days. Thanks for the subculture update.

[–]SolarTortality-1 points0 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

It’s called informal criticism, I thought you of all people would know about that

[–]CaptainBW0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

Do you live in America?

[–]1InformalCriticism-2 points-1 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I can tell you do.

Also, yes, I'm CONUS.

[–]SolarTortality0 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy Link

This is a grade A example of what we like to call Cringe and Bluepilled.

[–]1InformalCriticism0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

Did I accidentally hurt your butt? So easy to do these days.

[–]SolarTortality0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

You can’t even appreciate how not mad I am ;D

[–]JoesIcedTea1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

'Ah, yes, the past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it...or learn from it.' Rahfiki

[–]megaduff1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Laugh it off. I’ve done some stupid beta shit in the past. Shit’s funny as fuck

[–]joeswo2141 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Focus on pulling alpha moves. The more alpha moves separating you from your beta past, the less you will think of it.

[–]joeswo2141 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]3chazthundergut1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Take all the cringe and frustration and put it under the squat rack.

[–]kayfab0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

I kind of got over those hags... honest being single is so amazing fuck those useless bitches

[–]I_love_you_broskis0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Same here. Checked my BP Messages to chicks on BP days. Horrendous, horrible and embarrassing

[–]blocktq0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

You gotta be good to yourself. It is the hardest thing in the world but when I hear that voice talking shit. In MY OWN head. If you aren’t on your own team no one else will be. Feel it, but realize all you are doing is releasing chemicals that will hurt you.

[–]redpill_scientist920 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Lots o drugs

[–]iamthespectator0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

The more you improve the less you care about it. I used to think about this shit on a daily basis. But since I've made big improvements in myself I think about it less and less, and when I do I just legitimately laugh it off instead of feeling like shit.

[–]RedHoodhandles0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Leaving it in the past.

[–]trp282870 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

What the fuck is this question, you’re just posting this because you’re bored. Ask questions that you actually need to be answered and not bullshit like this, or go work on stuff

[–]Nitsujsith0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Everything okay?

[–]Pelikahn0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Laugh at it, that stupid shit was all done by a boy who isn't around anymore. Yet without all those terrible moments, mistakes, and other stupid shit you wouldn't be who you are right now.

We all do stupid shit we later hate, regret, and/or cringe while remembering. These bad moments are chances to learn a lesson, and without those lessons you would have never changed and grown.

There is absolutely nothing you can do to change the past, so lamenting on it is useless. I think to myself "How did I handle the situation before? And can I do it better this/next time?". Get curious again, like a kid, and use that to pick apart the scene in your head to find a positive outcome.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

One source of comfort is that you might be the only person who even remembers some of your mistakes. A lot of these girls have dealt with literally hundreds of awkward dudes missing obvious hints or shitting the bed when approaching them.

And very few of us are natural Giga-Chads. The horrible experiences are how you learn. The common scenario of your girlfriend going back to the ex she told you abused her is heart-wrenching but also a bigger red pill than any number of manosphere articles.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
