TLDR: No. Read it, you lazy fuck. I love you though.

A polarizing dichotomy in life choices of early twenty-somethings recently came to my attention - I'm 22, living in California, this phenomenon might be localized. This post will assume that both parties are disciplined, intelligent and otherwise rational actors of either the "AF" or "BB" lifestyle (MGTOW is not within scope) but haven't spent enough time on this earth to become a "complete" being (Strong Income + Social Life / Status + Looks / Style).

AF starts in college with a bullshit major and is there to socialize, party and fuck girls. They are often seen working middle tier jobs like Starbucks, Bartending, Costco or something similar. They go out on the week nights, constantly meet new people and have access to a steady supply of decent women.

Pros: The Now - Gets girls - Has lots of fun - Healthy social life

Cons: The Future - No Career / Trajectory - Lacking knowledge - Subpar Income

BB starts in college as that antisocial STEM major who studies 24/7. They are often seen working upper tier (science, engineering, medical, etc) jobs by their mid 20s. They don't go out, have underdeveloped social skills and either a small or non-existent social circle with no access to women.

Pros: The Future - Has Career / Trajectory - Knowledgeable - Good Income

Cons: The Now - Doesn't get girls - Depression / Escapism - Subpar Social Life

Let's recap the advice you see splattered everywhere to make sure you have solid basics:

  • Lifting: don't exercise. Exercise has no goal. You need to train, because training has goals. Strength of Aesthetics, up to you. I prefer Aesthetics. If you don't hit the gym regularly, start now. Bust your balls. Make gains. Lose fat. Whatever.

  • Nutrition: cook at home. Head over to http://www.bodybuilding.com/ if you need help with a diet that will make sure you're getting closer to whatever goals you set out for yourself in the aforementioned training routine.

  • Reading: Invaluable tools are RSVP (http://www.spreeder.com/) - I recommend groups of 3-5 words at around 3500wpm. Take notes, input them into an SRS (Spaced Repetition System, read about it here - http://www.gwern.net/Spaced%20repetition) like Anki (http://ankisrs.net/) which has a free online profile and apps for iPhone / Android. Pic related, my current reading selection: [redacted to minimize dox risk] - you want hardcover books for night time reading because blue spectrum light (electronic screens) are the primary zeitgeber for your Circadian Rhythm (when you sleep and wake). A great place to pick up lots of good books for dirt cheap is http://www.thriftbooks.com/

  • Learning: Read to learn, not to forget - SRS helps a lot in this regard, but it also requires that you understand how your mind works. Don't read too much at a time because when you start going out and learning (mostly aimed at PUA / Game), while you are learning something it will tax your conscious mind and require active focus / attention. Only once it no longer requires active focus and has been relegated to your subconscious can you re-allocate your conscious bandwidth to learning something different.

By now you're thinking, Azedia, I have good life basics, I'm doing this shit - cut to the chase - how do we roll the two lifestyles into one and become the legendary magic high SMV unicorn that frolics through meadows of cash above the Niagara Falls that is most women's vagina in its presence? Simple. To have what nobody else has, do what nobody else does - SCHEDULE LIKE A MADMAN!

Allocate your sleep strategically around your 9-5 job. When you get off, hit the gym right away (bring a change of clothes), then have a meal and take a 1.5* or 3* hour nap depending on when you get off work. Go out at 10/11/whatever and start partying / socializing / gaming - you can NOT have any more than one drink a night (even that's pushing it) if you want a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. When you get home, get 4.5* or 6* hours of sleep before you've got to go to work.

Assuming you've an AFC or BB wanting to move to the top of the pecking order, this is it - you will learn how to get girls, have lots of fun and a healthy social life while retaining your career, trajectory in life, good income and acquiring knowledge. Remember, PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT. You want to have the baller lifestyle of women, money and a healthy social life? This is it. You've got to practice, practice, practice at all of them. Don't half-ass your time out either - approach, pull, game, whatever - it'll be scary as fuck without alcohol at first but when you master it, you will have a ridiculous advantage over everyone else.

The biggest problem I've found with this is that when you start pulling often, having a chick over at your house every night equals long-term sleep deprivation - try offsetting this with a 4.5 hour nap after work and going out later, like 12 or 1 - the action happens in the second part of the night anyways, you'll just have less time to get into a good frame / state of mind. Do NOT stop gaming, going out, lifting or reading NO MATTER WHAT. Yes, even if you think you've found a unicorn - don't do it. You'll do it. You'll regret it. Wish I could beat this lesson into your head without you having to fall on your face, but I can't.

Hopefully you got at least one useful thing out of this post - go forth, compete, adopt, improve and dominate!

Is this actually sustainable? Does anyone live like this? It sounds appealing, but I find it hard to imagine taking a 1.5-3 hour nap every weekday evening so you can go out at 11 to have one drink. There's also a lot you would miss by giving up evenings, such as any kind of dinner plan or after-work shopping. With this plan, can you skip an evening nap and sleep for a more standard 8 hours on that night? Or does the napping every day have to be consistent for this to be maintainable?

I've been having those naps after work or school for years. They are the difference between being a brain dead zombie for the rest of the evening to being fresh.

[–]TDSee1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

This always worked for me as well, it re-energizes you for the evening

Drinking is a crutch and just all around lame, that part isn't sustainable (or healthy) on a daily basis. As for the sleeping, yeah - you can eliminate the nap in favor of a full night's rest when you have an earlier dinner or social event now and then without much side effects. You'll be a bit tired in the evening but sleep like a baby - having a really dark bedroom (block out all sunlight) drives it home for the naps.

It's possible. This post definitely made me chuckle. Glad I stumbled this subreddit. I work at the Hyatt full time, 7-3:30 right after I finish I go straight to the gym. I leave my car far at the parking lot. Work out for 1-2 hours. run to trader joes. Grab lunch. At the same time trader joes has possibly the hottest women, because it's near campus and all the fit women go there. Always talking to at least one female. Grab her number take her out sometime. Run back shower, Time for class. Finish, hang out with friends. Rinse and repeat till vacation. I have free flight benefits and hotels are cheap. I get 4-6 hours of sleep and I don't rely on caffeine. It's possible and it's worth it.

P.S. download the app any.do it's the best scheduler ever. Saves my ass plenty of times.

or bang college girls. they don't expect much and they'll think your cool and mature for having a house and car

plus you can buy them alcohol

[–]Azediae[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

This is a good call, what's your take on going about college game when not actually enrolled? Day-gaming on campus would be easy & amazing but this is directed at the 9-5 crowd for whom that's not an option.

[–]Dragontitz1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

say you dropped your classes or changed your major

or live in a college town

That section on reading was fantastic. (I hope you meant 350 wpm, unless ur some eagle man hybrid)

[–]SadFace9593 points4 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

You could just be involved in activities that put you around people.

[–]Soulk3082 points3 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

Amazing advice, thank you for sharing this with all of us. But I have one question, how can you possibly read at 3500 wpm at 3-5 words per group?! is it a mistake or am I just a really slow reader?

[–]schwingaling1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah, that seems like bullshit to me. I've tried those things and struggled at 500 WPM for single words

[–]lolwwww 2 points2 points [recovered] | Copy Link

So if you go out every night after work, when do you read? Cook food, do housework?

[–]Azediae[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I consider exercise, cooking (I cook 6 meals in one go, don't eat out), hygiene and housework mandatory items so they're baked into my schedule which is usually something like:

15Min Commute Overhead 3:15am to 8:00am - 4.5Hr Sleep + 15Min to Doze Off 8:00am to 8:45am - Cook/Clean/Breakfast 15Min Commute Overhead 9:00am to 5:00pm - Work 5Min Commute Overhead 5:05pm to 5:45pm - Gym 15Min Commute Overhead 6:00pm to 6:30pm - Shower/Hygiene 6:30pm to 9:45pm - 3Hr Sleep + 15Min to Doze Off 15Min Commute Overhead 10:00pm to 3:00am - ??? Profit.

God tier logistics (read: commute times) are worth the high rent.

Reading, writing, research and side projects happen during "free time":

  • Two days of the week I don't go to the gym
  • On the rare nights when I don't go out
  • Weekends

The above schedule probably seems like it'd take a lot of willpower / discipline but you fall into it very naturally once you try it, I got 5 of my friends to adopt something very similar so far and they like it (we go out together). You're always doing different things so the fact that it adds up to having very little to no "free" time doesn't really matter, since you're always having fun and there's a lot of variety to it.

I kind of have to agree.

To Improve my quality of life apparently I need to become familiar with strange acronyms that have no basis in reality, go drinking/gambling every day while only having one drink? All whilst trying to adhere to a ridiculous sleep schedule which by design will cause sleep deprivation,
It even says so right at the bottom!

My quality of life comes from having a stable schedule and not worrying about my bed time every 3 hours or so, as well as having the option to stay awake longer to do the spontaneous things that come up in an actual active life, what if things start coming up earlier in the day? Now you're the one lagging behind and being cranky because you didn't take your nap OR you miss it entirely because you're weird and have no stable sleep schedule.

Looks like this was part of the TRP raid from yesterday - go raid somewhere else, we're just trying to help guys improve and be better people ;P you'll benefit from it in the end anyways!

yes this is all true. Schedule your day to maximize your time.

This all sounds very stressful to me.
