This post is mainly being written for myself. If in 6 months I come back to it and I haven't imporved myself, I'll know I need to work harder. I'm posting this here because I don't want to bother the mods of the main sub with my inane bullshit, and this sub seems like a relevant place to discuss my approach to enhancing my masculinity.

Right now I'm 23 years old. 6'5", 185 lbs with no body fat, good athlete, and I make about $30,000 a year.

I've only ever been with one girl, it was a LTR that started in high school and lasted 2 years, plus one year of on and off fighting. I've made out with a couple other girls since then but I didn't have the guts to close. As of right now, physical escalation is few and far between, because I never make approaches and when chances present themselves I'm too soft to just go for it.

My goals:

-Gain 20 pounds of muscle- this won't be that hard, I have the frame support it, and have always lifted weights for sports, just never had a bodybuilding type focus or diet. I think I could get up to 205 or 210 in a year if I commit. And 6'5" 205 with no fat is no joke.

-make at least one approach per week. And it can't just be talking to the girl to gauge if she's interested, assuming she's not, and walking away. Persistence is required. Close or get rejected.

-Get a better job. I'm going to take a class this summer that will allow me to apply for jobs making around 55k, which is enough to at least be considered a reasonable adult.

-Posture. I have that stupid tall guy posture. Hopefully, that will go away with deadlifting and general strength increases, but I may need to do more than that.

-Voice. I naturally have a very deep voice, but I have a habit of softening it to sound nice. Fuck that habit. Same thing with the posture, fuck you, I'm gonna stand tall no matter how short you are. You can stand on your toes, I'm not gonna frame my neck.

I've known that doing this stuff is necessary for too long now without REALLY going at it, but it's time. This post will be a reminder to me to get the fuck after it and things won't get better until I put in effort. Wish me luck, and if you have any recommendations let me know.

Check out guerilla zen fitness on YouTube for your posture. I'd fix it before putting on weight because you'd be adding dysfunction to more dysfunction. After that just focus on front squats rows pull ups deadlifts and weighted dips. Always be improving your cardio because who doesn't need more energy?

Check out the mating grounds and the beige phillip show podcasts to get good with women

I've been listening to the Dave Ramsey show podcast to get better with money.

What class are you taking?

It's important to me to leave out enough personal information in my account's posts to not get doxxed, so I'm not gonna say what my class/job will be.

My workout was pretty much just gonna be bench, squats, deadlifts, pull-ups, dips, abs. 3-4x a week, instead of the more cardio, agility, sports-focused workouts I've been doing for years, with a new much higher protein diet. Are front squats better for posture? I have experience with those too so it's a switch I'd be willing to make. I'll check out the YouTube video when I get a chance on my computer, I'm on my phone right now. And I could definitely see myself listening to Patrice at the gym, but idk about the show after he left. I can't imagine it being as funny

Deadlifts are terrible for trying to gain weight. They destroy your muscles without really adding anything to your from or size. Find an alternative if you want to gain.

Perhaps I was misinformed. My good friend to me this. Since he is my fitness guru, I tend to believe him without vetting his info. The deadlift seems to come heavily recommended, but I haven't been able to find a scholarly article on it and muscle mass. Will get back to you.

I'm in a similar situation. 22 years old, Recently broken up with my LTR of 3 years. I'm going to nursing school now and I LOVE what I am doing. Oh, I lost ten pounds of fat. You've got this man!

$30,000 a year?

Not bad, but it's nothing something that will give you any long-term stability in terms of retirement. If you truly wish, try to get back to University, and pursue a career in the STEM fields; anything other than STEM is a waste of time.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
