Hello guys, Just read the post about bad advice: having fun when you are young. You said we should work on building a good foundation.

I'm 15 years old and wasted quite a lot of my time playing video games or surfing the web(since years). But I'm quite lucky and didn't failed at school and also having a decent social life. But I just didn't build any hobbies or habits, as I'm gamed so much. I already stopped playing games a few days ago.

But I know I have great potential as I'm quite intelligent, good looking and socially good connecting. I want to life up to my fullest potential.

But I seriously don't know where to start, as I have do work at so many things. Could you help me making a plan or something?

I'm very happy that I'm so aware and want to change at such a young age with 15, but I don't want to waste anymore time.

Workout on a regular basis. Talk to as many people as you can (Develop your communication skills). Keep in contact often. Get a hobby, something you really like and get good at it. Develop a plan for the future. (how do you see your self in 10 years, how can you get there?). Learn as much as you can. Save as much as you can. Travel as much as you can.

This is an excellent list, and as an older gentleman I'd like to expand on a couple of points.

Get a hobby, something you really like and get good at it.

Get multiple hobbies. Your tastes will change over time. Don't be afraid to experiment. Some will fade, some you will find out are your true passion and never leave you.

Develop a plan for the future. (how do you see your self in 10 years, how can you get there?).

Have a plan, but don't be afraid to change it as you change, and as times change. I reinvented myself 3 times in my life from the time I left home until now. And I'm only now starting to feel like I'm climbing Mazlow's hierarchy of needs towards the top of his famous pyramid.

Save as much as you can.

Cannot stress enough how important this one is! Don't buy stupid shit! Drive a crappy car that you can buy with cash, if you get a job with a retirement plan put serious money into it, or whatever personal retirement savings option is available to you where you live (in the US that's typically 401k and/or IRA). Einstein himself said, "the most powerful force in the universe is compound interest." Saving early puts you on a path to wealth later on. Set that money aside (10-15% of your income) and forget about it, it doesn't exist, you don't spend it. You'll thank me when you're 40 like me.

Travel as much as you can.

This doesn't conflict with saving money. Travel, but get off the beaten track. Backpack, hostels, camping. I drove across the US and visited 28 states over 2 months when I was in my 20s. It's something I'd never have a chance to do now, with responsibilities and bills to pay.

Great expansion of a great reply. OP take special note of the financial tips, quite simple but following these will change your life by giving you flexibility later on.

Eat healthy

Meditate

Read regularly

Exercise regularly

Stop mindlessly surfing the web

Don't watch much TV

Don't be afraid to talk to random people

Don't masturbate too much

Smile and laugh at yourself. Don't take things too serious.

Be polite and don't be negative.

Hit the gym! If you're a beginner start with stronglifts

Join a team sport that you enjoy.

Meditate

Do whatever you want! Paint, sing, read, it doesnt matter as long as you enjoy it.

Dont listen to the haters! In anything and everything you do someone will try to put you down and plant fear and doubt in your mind. Dont let that get to you.

Dont think that you need to have figured out what to do for the rest of your life when you graduate high school. Almost nobody does, just find something that interests you and pursue that.

And take everything one step at a time! The best way to do nothing is to try to do everything at once.

Good luck

I would advise to start learning and mastering self-responsibility. It is vital to forging your future.

The most important piece of advice, that majority of people have already said, is start lifting/working out. It'll do wonders for you. Eat right, do your research, and bulk up.

Start working, there's a million shitty jobs out there if you start going through them and finding what you don't want to do now you're career path will be easier to navigate when you're older and it's more critical. You'll have a leg up when you're 18-19 and want to move towards a full time "adult" position and you have a few years of work history to put on a resume. The best habit I formed as a teen was putting in a full day of work everyday, if you can train your 15 yr old self to find joy in that, providing for yourself and a family will come much easier as an adult.

bodyweight exercises everyday

I was going to say learn a second language, but it seems like English is your second language, so work on it more.

step outside of your comfort zone regularly

You'll see many hints of hobby and workouts;

They are all true

Everyone gets on a time of their life that they realize they wasted time (not doing meaningful things, or learning), and some things you just can't get back.

If you get fat you can slave yourself at 45 and get into decent shape, but would be much better to get fit while young and maintain it;

You can't, for example, get your teeth back. Take care of them.

It take many years to improve and get good at something, and if you start too late, you'll never be good.

Take care of your body, take care of your mind. Plan your future, work for it.

My tips would be: work out, meditate, learn to play an instrument, and a crafting hobby, respect others and learn to draw a line of how much shit you'll take on any situation.

Learn to keep the Internet a resource of knowledge rather than an extension of your knowledge.

Find time to unplug and enjoy nature, even if it's a local park or your back yard without a cell phone or MP3 player.

Keep your mind sharp and focused.

Learn or keep polished basic mental and longform math. At least know how to mentally calculate tips of varying amounts.

Build and keep a monetary security net for "just in case". Also build up a retirement plan and start now. Your funds will go much further the sooner you start with even a pittance. Roth IRAs tax initially, but can be withdrawn tax free unlike the traditional IRA.

Don't just buy "stuff". Learn how to balance quality and cost effectiveness with tools and clothing. Cheaper is not always better, but it can be the best. Start slimming down how much stuff you have now if you haven't already.

Start and maintain a habit of backing up your data on all devices. It's cheaper and prevents a lot of grief and stress for when, not if, it happens.

Set up a basic will that at least gives your parents possession of everything after you're 18. Optionally have available a collection of usernames and passwords to accounts that your don't mind opening up if something happens.

Most importantly, don't stagnate in life! Keep moving to new and higher challenges!

Whatever you feel like. Eventually you will discover what you enjoy, but you might miss it if you have your blinders on.
