I'm good with using rapport-breaking tones, but apparently when I talk I sound kind of gay. I'd rather not sound gay. Any tips on how to solve this?

Talk less, scrub the habitual rising intonation, don't use your hands, smile less, don't be loud.

don't use your hands

As an Italian-American, this is damn near impossible for me.

I don't have a rising intonation. I have kind of a rising-and-then-falling one. What should I replace it with?

A video of yourself reading a prepared text like the Preamble to the Constitution would help.

But the reform of your persona must grow organically from your baseline personality. I could tell you to imitate Jason Statham's characters or Daniel Craig's or Bruce Willis', but what they have in common is what I listed above. It's much easier to imitate a real man you know in real life, until you figure out what it ought to look like on you.

You may also want to take extended videos of yourself in mixed company while you are sober and also while you are drunk. Sometimes one's own undesirable habits stick out better when recorded.

Fantastic. Thank you for the advice.

Talk slowly. It'll help you talk deeper.

It also helps to talk less. When you do, people will pay attention more.

It also helps with giving yourself time to really think about what you will say, and how you will deliver it.

Yes. And so much of what gets said isn't worth saying anyway.

Talk slowly, take pauses and use your body as a way to communicate

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
