That's a good one u/Rugby11. One thing I took from it is the view on kingdom; it's all well and good to look inward when defining kingdom; but traditionally I was raised to know that my kingdom will always be defined externally; by what we physically call ours.

I know this because I come from a long line of land owners (think patrilineally inherited land) and as such have learned a thing or two about having a kingdom; and the responsibility that goes with it.

It's good build that internal kingdom but the truth is a literal kingdom is consolidated, grown, then passed on through generations. It still is however a great metaphor.

What a read how is your kingdom now? At this very moment?

Internally; as strong as I've ever been. That said I'll never stop pushing towards growth. To me stagnation equals death.

Externally(physically); I'm the second son so my eldest brother is first in line to inherit(pretty much runs things now since our father retired).

My brother since has failed to have a son so he approached me about our land/filial responsibilities and to take on more responsibility. It's been a surreal learning experience and these last few years have got me focused on maximising the utility of our clan assets.

The time isn't right to push the agenda however once we've consolidated(there was rampant theft/corruption under my father's "reign") I'll slowly start to steer my brother towards the ideas that will benefit us moving forward. Currently our main source of income is logging however I believe a big push into energy is where the future's going. I'm planning on putting us in the box seat.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
