Red Pill TheoryThe source of your power stems from the ability to walk away (self.TheRedPill)

submitted by TRP VanguardArchwinger

There was a post – on Purple Pill Debate of all places – that really touched on a key element of The Red Pill: A man’s power lies in his ability to walk away. I guess to appease the blue pill universe, it’s more accurate to say that a human’s power lies in its ability to walk away. The person who is the most willing to walk has 100% of the power in any relationship, romantic or otherwise. For a lot of losers in shitty relationships, that person who’s prepared to walk to her next cock at any time is the woman. Which is why one of the key teachings of The Red Pill is to always, always, always be willing and prepared to walk away.

“Negging” a woman? Implementing “dread game?” “Agreeing and amplifying” the shit-test issues she brings to you? The “IDGAF” attitude? These are all behaviors that give the impression of a man that could walk away at any moment. A genuinely valuable, badass of a man does most of this naturally, because he really could walk away at any moment. He has other shit to do and other people to see, so the very fact that he’s talking to you for a few minutes, gauging your worth, is a gift. A less valuable loser of a man who read The Red Pill for the first time last week might be faking it, trying these behaviors out to appear like he’s willing and able to walk. Honestly, as long as he’s not too obvious with his machinations, he’ll probably have some success with it.

Your power in any relationship, even non-romantic ones, comes from two sources:

1- Being worth a shit, or at least looking and acting in a manner that gives the appearance that you’re worth a shit. If you’re not worth a shit, nobody cares if you stay or go or what happens to you. You could be run over by a bus, and nobody would cry. Your girlfriend would post about your death on Facebook to get attention then start fucking her backup boyfriend next week.

How do you become worth a shit? Work out, eat well, dress well, and groom – become good looking. Get a degree and a good job, then excel at it – become professionally successful. Explore the world – take a little time off from the beer, porn, and video games and see what else might interest you, and develop some hobbies and skills that are useful and add value to your life. Talk to people and meet people everywhere you go – you don’t become socially apt and well-connected unless you actually practice and get past the embarrassing socially awkward stage where you suck and people think you’re weird, and you never meet anybody interesting, fun, or valuable if you never make the effort.

2 – Being willing to walk away. Prepare to walk away. Have an exit strategy ready for every relationship in your life. Every single person in your life should be deathly afraid that this time will be the last time they ever see you if they fuck up this encounter with you. When you’ve clearly demonstrated that you don’t give a fuck, you have options in life, and you blow-off and don’t tolerate shit tests and disrespect, people quit dishing out disrespect in your direction and start bending over backward to make sure you’re pleased with them.

Women should be afraid of losing you. If the sex stops, if they bitch at you, if they push for commitment, if they try to manipulate you, you’re gone. This isn’t a manipulation tactic. It’s a fact. You don’t have time for women who make your life harder or less happy. You have options with other women who don’t. Even if you don’t have any other options with any other women, it is much better to have no women at all than a woman who consumes more value from your life than she adds. No woman is worth that.

I guess to appease the blue pill universe, I should say that you don’t have time for any people, men or women, who make your life harder or less happy. If some male person is consuming more value from your life than he’s adding, cut him out of the picture, too. It’s better to have no friends than shitty friends. There. Now we’re all politically correct. Because being politically correct is really important!

Some people will tell you that this is some kind of evil manipulation we’re teaching here, but this used to be dating 101: If you suck and don’t make me happy, I will leave. Somehow, people forgot this and now when a woman makes us unhappy, we’re supposed to communicate, get counseling, go for months without sex, give backrubs, fold laundry, and forgive her when she fucks another guy who doesn’t put up with shit like that.

That’s really the core of The Red Pill when you think about it. Be worth a shit, recognize people who aren’t, and treat the people who aren’t appropriately. Unfortunately, in 2015, many, many women aren’t worth a shit. (Most men aren’t either, but you guys aren’t sexually attracted to men, so it doesn’t matter.) So I guess your #3 source of power is the ability to recognize shitty people, accept that most people (e.g., women) are shitty, and roll with it (e.g., fuck until the sex stops or she annoys you, then shrug, walk away, and fuck someone else.)

Now astute readers among you might say, “Well Archwinger, by being like this, aren’t I being a shitty friend and a guy who takes more value than he adds? Aren’t I being the kind of person other people should walk away from if they took your advice?”

For some of you, yes, you are. But you’re lucky. Most people in the world are losers. They won’t walk away from you for the same reasons that the pre-Red Pill you never walked away from shitty people. And if some of them do walk, you’ve got other options. There’s a whole world of people out there. Most are too insecure, stupid, or worthless to walk away.

But those of you who are actually worth a shit recognize that the best way to add value to the lives of others is to be worth a shit. So many blue pill beta loser chump guys don’t get this. They remain losers who aren’t worth a shit, but become really, really thoughtful, attentive, helpful, eager-to-please losers. That’s even worse! It doesn’t matter how large of a pile of shit you’re handing out. It will never be worth the tiniest gold nugget. When people don’t respect or value the shit you’re handing out, the solution isn’t to offer a larger pile of it.

How do you really add value to someone else’s life? Be valuable. Be worth a shit. People want to hang out with, be seen with, and interact with people that are good-looking, successful, interesting, fun, skilled, and socially apt. The time you provide to those people is valuable. But it comes at a price: People work to keep your time. People add value to your life. Otherwise, you walk.

Your power comes from the willingness to walk away. Have an exit strategy for every relationship in your life, and use those exit strategies liberally when needed. If you make time for shitty people, it’s only a matter of time before you smell like shit.

I know exactly what thread in PPD you're talking about. CRFroflcopter or whatever mod over there was berating RP guys for saying exactly this, how assigning yourself more value than you assign to a woman is somehow "manipulative" and "emotional abuse". I can't believe the way plugged in people think. I can't believe that I used to think they exact same way.

It's also why "counseling" is the biggest fucking joke of all jokes. Somehow, sitting on a couch, while some guy with a psych degree, pocket protector, and glasses pats your sobbing wife/GF on the head while wagging his finger at you about your "manipulative" behavior, became a multi-million dollar industry in this country.

If your woman isn't fucking you, she's not attracted to you. If your woman is constantly nuclear shit testing you, she isn't attracted to you.

And having some gray-haired egghead in an elbow-padded sport coat tell you that doing laundry, giving back rubs, and buying her romantic dinners will change all that?

That's the biggest manipulation of all.

[–]TRP VanguardArchwinger[S] 117 points118 points  (17 children)

I especially respect the opinion of female counselors on their fourth husbands telling me how to save my marriage.

[–]TRP VanguardJP_Whoregan 39 points40 points  (3 children)

Exactly. How about we tell all the town drunks to have an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting down at the local dive bar at happy hour?

[–]GC0W30 5 points6 points  (1 child)

For that analogy to work, I think one of you has to bang the therapist, leading to a divorce..... by the end of my last round of marriage counseling, not only could Doc have banged my wife without me caring, but I would be begging him to just steal her....

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please please wife her the fuck up so I don't have to pay alimony!

[–]TRP VanguardHumanSockPuppet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're not part of the solution, then there's plenty of money to be made perpetuating the problem.

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan 9 points10 points  (6 children)

This is a good way to shit-test your female marriage counselor.

"How many failed marriages have you had?"

If they've failed at their own marriages what gives them the right to give you advice on how to fix your own.

That said even male marriage counselors are blue pilled pussy whipped faggots usually who might as well have left their testicles in their wife's purse and will give the same damn bad advice as the female ones.

[–]TW_RPAwake 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Her answer - "two"

My response while walking out - "I don't take financial advice from broke relatives"

    [–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

    AWALT.

They're always looking to trade up to a bigger, better model.

    [–]thebalrog_ofmorgoth 2 points3 points  (1 child)

ha! if only it went down like that-- too bad she'll literally say anything but the truth to that kind of question. 'Cause she knows her credibility will be fucked.

    [–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why you should google them before you go. No doubt there will be some shit about a divorce on facebook or some bitter ex-spouse will post a bunch of tirades about their useless spouse and shit.

[–]TRP Vanguard: "Dark Triad Expert"IllimitableMan 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Haha, it's like the pot calling the kettle black, or to make a better analogy, a virgin giving sex advice. You're paying for nonsense. TRP is free at the point of need and superior in quality of service. Fuck the sham that is marriage counselling.

    [–]TRP VanguardCyralea 8 points9 points  (0 children)

    a virgin giving sex advice

    /r/relationships?

    [–]Ryanami 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A couple close to me was getting marriage counseling from exactly such a woman. How did that story end? She deliberately tried to drive a wedge between them as she wanted to branch swing onto his top 2% income.

    [–]loin_fruit 0 points1 point  (2 children)

When you don't like how the relationship or plate is acting, instead of ghosting and walking away, how much of a difference does it make if you tell them that you're done?

Does your smv drop at all by saying you're done? Do they look at you with less power?

    [–]TRP VanguardArchwinger[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yeah. You look butthurt if you confront them. They think you care.

If you just soft next, they'll be back later to fuck. You want to be as unaffected as possible. Just go fuck someone else in the mean time.

    [–]coffee_and_lumber 24 points25 points  (1 child)

how assigning yourself more value than you assign to a woman is somehow "manipulative" and "emotional abuse".

Women are encouraged constantly to think of themselves as "strong" and "amazing" or whatever hyperbolic descriptor you can come up with. The difference is that there's almost never any real self-improvement advice given (or taken) to qualify that statement. Here at least, we advocate rigorous, often painful amounts of self improvement.

    [–]benmarvin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Painful must be the keyword. As simple human beings we are conditioned and comfortable with the easy road.

    [–]CQC3 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've reaffirmed a lot of personal things through TRP, relearned a lot of behaviors I had over many years beat out of me by the crabs in the bucket.

The one thing I learned from here that is the most useful for me is that "you can't negotiate desire". Plain and simple. It either is or isn't. Other people's emotional states are not your problem, women AND men.

    [–]2Overkillengine 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've noticed one should only go to counseling if you want the relationship to end, and are using it to give you time to prepare your exit strategy.

Rest assured she is. Or has already.

    [–]SoldierGenerale 3 points4 points  (1 child)

If your woman is constantly nuclear shit testing you, she isn't attracted to you.

    This.

I'm also pissed off at guys that don't want to date hot girls because hot girls supposedly deal harder shit-tests. That's some fucking victim mentality and needs to be eradicated. Hot girls only test harder for unattractive guys.

Do you think these hot girls would shit-test Brad Pitt or Lennox Lewis to test if those are real men? Fuck no.

    [–]icecow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That rings true, but why would they give you shit tests at all? Why not ignore in the first place?

    [–]TRP VanguardCyralea 3 points4 points  (1 child)

'Manipulation' is Powertalk, plain and simple. They actually mean that they're experiencing mental stress, but need a world that sharply frames it as your fault. Women are fucking naturals when it comes to Powertalk.

Once I realized this it became so easy to dismiss anything negative a woman might have to say. 99% of the time it has no merit; it's just a weapon she's wielding for a desired effect.

    [–]WS6Grumbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thousands of years of being the short end of the sexually dimorphous stick has certainly instilled some very disingenuous social habits in our fairer counterparts.

And by fairer, I mean AWALT

    [–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (11 children)

Are all the PPD mods bluepill fags? I haven't been there long enough..

    [–]MicroMinion 9 points10 points  (1 child)

There's no debate. Purple pill is just a term for BP fags in denial. People here aren't telling bullshit, and if they do they will get called out on it or banned very fast. There's no discussion.

    [–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah one of the mods "somethingcopter" or whatever the fuck that fags name is, he's some bluepill in denial faggot who likes to flaunt about how bad trp is and all of those "researches" are based on muh' feels

    [–]Senior Contributorcocaine_face 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's the impression I've gotten over the past couple days of playing around in there.

As far as I can tell, the audience is people from TBP and people who are having a hard time totally swallowing the pill. Most of the arguments from the blue pill side seem directed at men who do not yet have a strong frame. Basically, "Women are great, go back to sleep, it's ok!"

No point in arguing in there unless you're doing it demonstratively for these latter men.

    [–]Heco 0 points1 point  (6 children)

fuck does PPD stand for? new here bro.

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Purple Pill Debate.

    [–]newls -5 points-4 points  (2 children)

Pussy pass denied. There's a sub called PussyPass which shows examples of women getting away with stuff and facing no consequences because they're women. Another sub called pussypassdenied (PPD) shows women attempting the PussyPass but being denied by some authority. Sort of like Red Pill justice porn.

However IIRC I'm pretty sure the reddit SJW cabal took over PPD and possibly PP which may have diluted them slightly. I seem to recall that anything the mods interpret as 'misogynistic' gets deleted and the user banned.

    [–]dimmy666 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Actually in this context PPD means /r/purplepilldebate.

    [–][deleted] 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Women should be making your dick hard, not your life. Solid post.

    [–]Senior Endorsed ContributorCopperFox3c 84 points85 points  (13 children)

This really is a key point. You must always maintain some level of detachment in any relationship. You must always be willing to walk away. If you find this mindset hard to adopt, just remember the following:

All relationships will end, either thru departure or death or something else. Like everything else in life, they are ephemeral. Things come and go. You cannot hold them. You cannot possess them. They were there for a time, but they were never yours. Value the time you had, but never put anything on a pedestal.

    [–]rpscrote 25 points26 points  (5 children)

everything ends, nothing lasts forever, so enjoy whatever good thing you've got while you've got it. This mantra keeps me centered

    [–][deleted] 22 points23 points  (4 children)

Straight from classic Stoicism. Reminds me of the most powerful phrase, which can make a sad man happy and a happy man sad:

    This too shall pass.

    [–]rpscrote 0 points1 point  (3 children)

It's really a shame sluts ruined the phrase by getting it tattooed all over them and using it as a blank check to act like wild beasts

    [–]WS6Grumbles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No slut will ever ruin that phrase. That phrase has been repeated countless time in countless languages, and has a message of such import that to even deign to mention that sluts having attempted to hi-jack it's intent within the last 15 or so years with tacky body art and incorrigible behavior is giving the importance and relevance of sluts way too much merit.

    [–]hunkerd0wn 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Holy shit dude, you are so on point. My mind instantly went to a girl I knew back in my hometown who has that tattooed across her chest. She was a huge slut.

    [–]rpscrote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the type brother, lol. Watch out for chicks with phoenix tatoos too.

    [–]ArtTheRussian 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The late great Patrice O'Neil said only ever love your women 80% you need the other 20% to properly hate her and properly love yourself.

    [–]HeinousFu_kery 11 points12 points  (4 children)

This is true of any negotiation, which relationships are (and the reverse is true as well). What you're doing is ridding yourself of "anchoring" - the idea that your world's values are fixed to some point or person, usually encountered early on.

Salespeople do this all the time - "Here's a cheap car that's....okayyyy, but for just a few dollars more you can have this deluxe model". The cognitive bias is that the first is cheap and thus the next one is a bargain, while the first model might have been everything you really needed. Profit.

Thus, in your day-to-day relationships this is where the incremental whittling away of determination and/or "shit tests" come from. You're fixed on the idea that your model is the only one out there and the costs of change are too high (or impossible altogether), so you put up with the misery rather than change. Women often call this "improving" guys (making them more like themselves), which is a solipsistic view at best and utterly arrogant and disrespectful at worst.

You can negotiate so long as you're willing to walk - at that point you're no longer fixed on a single value and you can use your mind more flexibly. With that you can take many of the approaches that are discussed here, and usually the best one is to jump out of the ad hominem responses that women like to fish up when they can't counter your position ("You don't have to use that tone with me!"). This is a key that they have no real point or position at all, but you have to be on your toes to use that fact.

What this doesn't mean is that you walk out the first time the negotiations get tough - think of the guys in the state department who negotiate trade agreements. They're dealing with their counterparts with trillions in the balance and don't walk out like peeved third graders (except as a tactic), but they don't have many illusions about their resources or options either. However, if things get disagreements get bad enough, then the whole thing stops.

Any negotiator will tell you that it's a game of give and take, but there's only so much you have to give before you go looking at the next model.

    [–]Ojisan1 10 points11 points  (3 children)

I used to train sales people, and so many times these salespeople would just try to offer the customer whatever discount they asked for, just to close the deal. They'd come to me for approval on the discount and I'd have to tell them to go back in there and negotiate - make a counter-offer, find some other thing to trade for the discount, anything besides giving away the company's profit margins.

My saying was: "negotiation starts when someone says no".

If you're not willing to say no to "can I have it for free?" then what good are you as a salesman? Correspondingly, if you're not willing to walk away from a bad deal as a customer, you're going to get screwed time and time again.

Negotiation is all about finding a win-win. But until someone says no - if you're just going along with what the other person wants all the time - then you're not negotiating.

    [–]yummyluckycharms 1 point2 points  (2 children)

little caveat - if the customer (or the other party) are knowledgeable and informed, chances are they already know the value of something and are looking for exactly that value - no bs.

For example, with my last car I knew exactly what I wanted and how much it was worth. I also knew I could get certain items off or for free. The first 2 dealerships didnt want to lower the price, so I walked out quickly - the other two dealerships did drop their price. One wasn't willing to give the freebies so I started walking out, where all of a sudden they changed their mind. At which point, I knew I had them over a barrel because they didnt stick to their guns. I didnt buy from that one because I felt insulted that they didnt respect me enough to recognize that I knew my shit, and went to the dealership that was no bs and recognized this fact.

    [–][deleted]  (1 child)

    [deleted]

      [–]yummyluckycharms 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The point was that the salespeople should have an adaptive script - if the guy comes in and knows his shit, it might or might not be a good strategy to have that one walk out. Depends on the business - sometimes you want to let the smart ones go so that you can focus on the dumb customers

      [–]Hamilton950B 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If all relationships will end, it follows that you are better off choosing when they end rather than being surprised. Which brings us back to being ready and willing to walk away.

      [–]flying-gogoplata 46 points47 points  (2 children)

I've always been an pretty alpha with women but my boss is a stern man much older than me who commands respect, and I gotta admit, I'd be a bit on my toes in front of him.

My first 3-4 years at my job I basically begged for a raise every year it came up, trying to get more money like a scrub, telling them how much I need this job and money, full on beta. They would throw me some 3%-5% raise bullshit that barely made up for the increasing price of groceries over the years. Looking back I remember when I negotiated a 3% raise to a 5% raise I told them how much I appreciated it, I was going to work so hard for them, thank you thank you thank you - when reality was I was already severely underpaid from my date of hire and no 5% raise per year would change that.

After finding TRP I was convince to stop taking shit from everyone, not just women. And this next story validates exactly what you say:

The next time I asked for a raise I simply said with a smile on my face "Boss, I am looking to build a career. I appreciate the time you have given me here. My knowledge has brought me to another level of development skills. I am asking for a 20% raise because that's what I feel I should be getting paid at least. If we can't compromise, that's fine, I'm just letting you know I'm looking to start reaching my real career goals in the very near future and I wanted to know if it's going to be with this company or not. I'm not quitting, I'm just trying to figure out if this is a long term job for me, It's been a great ride so far, let me know."

It took a lot of balls to say and I gota admit I was shooken a bit... The KEY POINT is I was WILLING TO WALK AWAY if I got fired right then and there... I'm a wolf and I'll survive. I wasn't bluffing. I wasn't quitting but I was informing him I was going to be making changes to reach my career goals with or without his company.

But the response blew my mind. The dude gave me a 25% raise on the spot, 5% more than I asked for to "lock me down" (his words). Shook my hand and said I did terrific work. That was the end of it. Went back to my office in 5 minutes total.

Being ready to walk away gave me all the power in the relationship with my job. Before that they treated me, and paid me like a post grad schlub kid. Now nothings changed, I don't even have more work or responsibilities, I just got a on the spot 25% raise by being willing to walk away. Finally, the big boy bucks (to me anyways), all in a 9-5, allowing me to work on other projects after work.

KEY NOTE: I was NOT A DICK about any of it. totally professional and nice, not "mad" or anything.

This isn't a humblebrag, I'm FAR from rich. This job isnt even any where near my end game goals, but it I wanted to make sure if I'm going to be there for another 5-10 years as the 9-5 staple, I'm not getting paid like dogshit, which I was for my trade. If its going to be a stepping stone it needs to be a well paid one. I knew my worth was above what I was getting paid, that's the bottom line. Knowing my worth and being willing to walk away. I also understand relying on one income is a bad idea and my side business is already doing decently for its first year.

      Great thread OP.

      [–]DarkisKnight 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You should write this up as an FR. Nicely done.

      [–]WellHungMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best way to get a raise these days is to move to a different company. I don't negotiate, I move up.

      [–]markfeel 21 points22 points  (2 children)

And the reason why you don't get married is because it strips away this power of walking away. It actually gives the woman the power to walk away without consequences. If SHE walks away, she can take half of your property (including your future income.) If YOU walk away, it's the same result. Marriage kills almost every tactic a man has in a relationship.

      [–]1independentmale 4 points5 points  (1 child)

It actually gives the woman the power to walk away with out consequences cash and prizes.

There we go. That's more accurate.

Women are incentivized to divorce by the family court system. Is it any wonder they initiate over 2/3rds of the time?

      [–]markfeel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And now I can't help but sigh every time I see a man give an expensive ass rock (diamond) to a woman.

      [–]tits_out_forTheBoys 74 points75 points  (3 children)

Women are nature's approval seekers. Men are nature's approval distributors.

      [–]phasemetazeme 38 points39 points  (0 children)

And when women try to reverse the roles, society gets fucked up. We can plainly see that happening now.

      [–]Endorsed Contributorredpillbanana 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Being worth a shit, or at least looking and acting in a manner that gives the appearance that you’re worth a shit. If you’re not worth a shit, nobody cares if you stay or go or what happens to you.

How to tell you're worth a shit: when you are fired/dumped, and you announce it to your friends, do they look sad or amused?

Sad: it means that they think you're going to have a rough time finding something equivalent.

Amused: they think whoever fired/dumped you is an idiot and there are people lining up to replace them as you speak.

I have a friend who was recently fired. When he announced it to us, we all burst out laughing. He was confused at first until we told him that his boss was an idiot and the company would struggle without him, and that he'd probably find a better-paying job tomorrow if he were so inclined.

I should say that you don’t have time for any people, men or women, who make your life harder or less happy.

This can be seen as an extension of win/win or no deal, except from a more self-centered point of view, it's I WIN or no deal, and I'll leave you to worry about whether you're winning or not. Getting nagged for weeks on end? I'm not winning, so no deal. Cut off from sex? I'm not winning, so no deal.

      [–]1jb_trp 32 points33 points  (5 children)

Women should be afraid of losing you.

This only works if you follow through with step 1. If you haven't raised your SMV to the point where you're "the prize" then she won't give two fucks if you stay or go. That's why you must always be improving, always be becoming the best version of yourself, put yourself first, and not sacrifice your health/gym time/career for any woman.

I think a lot of men swallow the pill, gain some alpha (IDGAF) traits, and only raise their SMV enough to start spinning a few plates. They see success and they become complacent... Only half-assing their workouts (if they work out at all), have a so-so diet, and never reach the pinnacle of where they should be at. The plates crash, they get new ones, rinse and repeat. To solve this you have to focus on yourself and do what's best for you, always.

      [–]Code_Bordeauxx 4 points5 points  (2 children)

      1. If you haven't raised your SMV to the point where you're "the prize" then she won't give two fucks if you stay or go.

If you haven't raised your SMV to the point where you're 'the prize', she wouldn't be with you in the first place. Hypergamy. Great points though!

      [–]1jb_trp 13 points14 points  (1 child)

I think there is a point where a man's SMV is high enough to pull a girl as a plate and a have sex with her, but not be high enough to keep her interest. As she gets to know you, the magic/mystery fades, and it's easy for her to move on.

      [–]Code_Bordeauxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, and it's mostly nitpicking I guess, but by the time 'she won't give two fucks if you stay or go', she'll be gone already. I think we more or less agree, have an upvote!

      [–]whats_the_deal22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'm coming off a long dry spell with a new plate right now. But for me, I feel more motivated than ever. I'm not letting complacency come into my life again.

      [–]TheRealMouseRat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's why the strategy works. If you see yourself walking away a lot, then that means that you have to improve your SMV.

      [–]Senior Contributorexit_sandman 16 points17 points  (1 child)

That’s really the core of The Red Pill when you think about it.

My personal interpretation of TRP philosphy dumbed down:

Make it your mission to make your own life better, not those of women.

      [–]unassumingusername7 35 points36 points  (0 children)

You're on a roll man. Your posts are killer.

Looking back, I can see that not only do you lose power when you give up a clean exit strategy, but if other people perceive your lack of an exit, they automatically treat you worse. Once they get it in your heads that you need them, they'll take you for granted immediately. Doesn't matter if it's a girlfriend, boss, or friend. You must be self sufficient to really get people's respect.

      [–]Endorsed ContributorInvalidity 21 points22 points  (7 children)

If any man thinks that being selfish doesn't attract women, he is not ready for TRP. Women need men who will take care of them, but they want men who will take care of themselves first.

      [–][deleted] 17 points18 points  (6 children)

We shouldn't use the word "selfish" to describe men who prioritize themselves over women they met a few weeks ago. That's not selfish, that's rational. "Selfish", is the word feminists use, to describe men who don't put pussy on a pedestal.

Being truly selfish is having no consideration for other people, at all, which is not a respectable, rational, or RP.

      [–]NikoMyshkin 2 points3 points  (1 child)

if you can't look after your own needs then how on earth are you going to look after anyone else's? it's actually better for everyone in your life if you look after yourself first and foremost because only then are you in a position to give the best support that you are capable of.

this applies to everyone, men, women, RP, BP, PP - everyone.

      [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. You need to help yourself before you can help anyone else.

      [–]Endorsed ContributorInvalidity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We can describe it however we please, but the point is that it is easier for everyone to understand if we speak in their language.

I meant being a psychopath is not encouraged by TRP, because it's a pretty big disadvantage in social interaction and building connections.

Being RP in my view means being disconnected from the "matrix", so I don't see why a psychopath can't be RP.

        [–]whisky1111 20 points21 points  (3 children)

The basis(being able to walk away) of this writing is very true BUT here again we are playing the social validation game.

"good-looking, successful, interesting, fun, skilled, and socially apt" all equal usefulness to other people.

These qualities don't exist in a vacuum, the very reason they are considered qualities (with societal/feminine rewards) is because they are useful to society/women.

(Meanwhile dudes are sitting in prison getting fan mail from womenz! Makes ya think!)

If you are improving yourself with any intention of receiving some reaction from other people then you are still playing the game.

Imagine how quickly things would change if men stopped playing!

And isn't it odd how all this male "improvement" is ALWAYS within the social framework? "Become physically stronger" "make more money" "get a degree" "rise in your corporate job"

I think what we should be saying is "have more fun" "be more creative" "enjoy your own company" "treat yourself" "live simply if it pleases you"

But I digress, some real gold in this post. Especially lines like:

"Even if you don’t have any other options with any other women, it is much better to have no women at all than a woman who consumes more value from your life than she adds. No woman is worth that."

Something that ever man needs to burn into his brain!

        [–]coffee_and_lumber 2 points3 points  (1 child)

And isn't it odd how all this male "improvement" is ALWAYS within the social framework? "Become physically stronger" "make more money" "get a degree" "rise in your corporate job"

I always advocate getting out into challenging situations in nature as much as possible as one of the best paths to improvement. It then becomes all about problem-solving in the most baseline way possible. Pretty much anyone can get a degree or excel in a job. No man is more powerful than the wild universe itself. There's still plenty of human competition. Last weekend I went out on a 13 mile day hike. I encountered runners out on the trail doing a 30 mile race.

Even when I lift with the purest intentions, there's always that desire to have a better impression on people or have it help me be more dominate. However, my forays out into the woods are a pure effort to conquer myself at my core. Same thing when I spend a couple months building a piece of fine furniture.

        [–]MarinTaranu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't be impressed with runners doing a 30 mile run. Their hips, knees and ankles will be shot to hell by age 50. Moderation is most important if you want to enjoy a healthy long life.

        [–]FarOrAMess 6 points7 points  (0 children)

        Great post as always, /u/Archwinger.

It needs to be realized that when your value isn't high to a certain degree, any act of kindness or display of being a "good friend" (as OP said - attentive, helpful, etc...) is like dust in the wind, nobody freaking cares about it unless it comes from a person of value.

        [–]TomSachs 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I love everything you said except for

If you suck and don’t make me happy, I will leave.

This is an issue. I've heard it multiple times where women say "well I divorced him because he didn't make me happy." This is really just a terrible attitude to have. We need to take responsibility for our own emotions and realize that people will never make us happy. I am in control of how I feel. I dictate exactly how I feel each and every day and I'm responsible for my long term happiness. No one will make you happy and if that is what you're looking for in a relationship of any sort then you are fucked. I'm not really addressing OP but more so everyone in this community because I've seen this recurring theme. Also I realize I pretty much just took one sentence from OP out of context. Someone, I forget who, wrote a really great post about taking responsibility for your own emotions but I can't find it.

        [–]TRP VanguardArchwinger[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bad choice of words. If she sucks and is consuming more time, attention, energy, and resources than what she is contributing to your life, then walk. Essentially, if you are not pleased with her, then you are unhappy with her. You can still be happy overall and have a generally happy life that doesn't depend on another person.

        [–]TW_RPAwake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Is this <woman, friend, job, town> a net positive to my life, or a net negative? If the latter, then NEXT it.

        [–]the_red_scimitar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Strongly agree. I'd put it simply:

        1. Be the prize.
        2. Be willing to take the "L", at any time, as Patrice often says. (Black Phillip Show).

And, a corollary to #2, that makes walking easier, is cultivating not just an "abundance mentality", but actual abundance. Whatever work you have to do to be the prize, you just have to do it. Period. Get your plates, refine your ability to select and acquire them, and you will almost never have any trouble walking when it suits you. (Yeah, that's for the non-married guys here).

        [–]Jeffrey_Forbes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't been on this site for a couple of months. I guess I thought I had figured it out. Somehow I found my way back here today, read this and looked back over my current situation. God damn I was wrong, I'll be in the library if y'all need me.

        [–]Gunnilingus 2 points3 points  (1 child)

By and large I agree with all your points, with one notable exception. Yes, you should be prepared to walk away from any relationship you have - with a woman. But with male-male friendships, loyalty is something to be valued and cherished. Right now, my best friend is going through some colossal struggles, and honestly every interaction we have had lately is a drain on my emotions and patience. Nevertheless, I will remain ready and able to help him pick himself back up and get back on track no matter what it takes; I believe he would do the same for me if the situation were reversed. If you commit to a friendship, and yet are ready to walk away at the drop of a hat, that reflects poorly on you.

        [–]Code_Bordeauxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The sexual marketplace indeed is like any other marketplace. Any trade, any negotiation, any compromise: if you want the best deal make sure you have one step out of the door already. Great post, fully agree!

        [–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

" Women should be afraid of losing you. No woman is worth that."

Yes. Spot on once again Arch

        [–]solbrothers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read this a long time ago

"The person who has the most power in a relationship is the one who has the least amount invested". Heard that from my ex. She was a manipulative cunt.

        [–]sillyMooseHaver47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now we’re all politically correct. Because being politically correct is really important!

Though I believe you were being sarcastic, I appreciate your putting Red Pill concepts into politically correct language. This gives me the tools I need to describe it to the little blue pill midget that I've stuffed in the corner of my brain. It also gives me the tools I need to discuss these universal truths of human behavior with my more politically correct and white knight inclined friends. Cheers.

        [–]abcd_z 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly agree. The single most powerful technique in my toolbox is a Soft Next: No contact for at least a week, you do your own thing, and you sleep with other women.

You would not believe how effective it is. Every single plate I've ever had has caused me virtually zero drama (defined here as nagging me, arguing with me, putting me on the defensive, or otherwise making me unhappy).

This is also why I don't think monogamous relationships benefit the man. The more invested you are, the harder it is to walk away, and the more likely the woman is to start treating you poorly. Or at least, not as well as she did when the relationship started.

If men were really committed to living lives that give them the most happiness and least unhappiness, they would just spin plates their entire lives.

        [–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

If I can add a personal anecdote.

I just got out of an emotional abusive relationship. I as the man was abused. I as the man failed to walk away for too long. >inb4 being mocked on TBP for being emotional abused.

The relationship started well, just a fling. Everyone got what they wanted sexually. No one was overly committed. When I did commit to being exclusive the fighting started. Fighting pretty much being her exclusively verbal attacking me and me trying to stop her. (1)this only started after I commit to not walking away.

TRP told me to be an oak tree and whether her storms. I didn't realise for to long what was normal and what was too extreme when we fought. She damaged me self esteem. Damaged my confidence and when I tried to break up with her, promised to change and seduced me. (2) she was only truly reasonable when I threatened to walk away.

A few weeks ago, she got really bad. During one of our fights she said she was only angry because I kept threatening to leave. (3) by over playing the walk away card, I made things worse.

I realised what a state I was in and that relationship was benefitting no one. I broke up with her over the phone so she couldn't seduce and had to talk to me on my terms. In that last conversation she told how much she loved, gave me compliments I had been denied in the past so she could hurt me. I at this point was checking a list in front of me 'signs of emotional abuse'. She fit too many and while she yet again promised to be better and never do it again. I drew on my inner strength and finally walked away. Since she has told me she still will fuck me whenever I ask. **(4) I assume it's an attempt to get be back under her thumb. Part of me wants to view it as she still wanting the only guy she (a former model) can't have. reading the sex God method doesn't hurt either.

        [–]MarinTaranu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a trap. She might just get pregnant out of revenge and stick you with 18 years of child support.

        [–]heebs4change 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great post, OP. Gone through some similar situations recently and you're 100% on point with everything you've said.

        [–]DarkisKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

        Awesome post. Well written.

Be worth a shit and prepared to walk away and the rest will follow.

        [–]JablesRadio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's an old episode of Seinfeld that dealt with this almost exclusively. If you want "hand" in a relationship, show that you are willing to walk away with a preemptive breakup.

        [–]Endorsed Contributormonsieurhire2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was agreeing with you up until this point:

"But those of you who are actually worth a shit recognize that the best way to add value to the lives of others is to be worth a shit. When people don’t respect or value the shit you’re handing out, the solution isn’t to offer a larger pile of it."

What you're not taking into consideration here is that people who are labeled worthless often offer the MOST value because they believe they need to compensate for their supposed lack of worth.

Also, people are sociopaths, and they'll denigrate people of value if they think it will keep the gravy train rolling. People are also self-destructive, and will rationalize abusing people that help them.

What you're saying could also be construed as "Be attractive; don't be unattractive," where attractive people are given license to abuse less attractive people that gravitate toward them, because the less attractive people foolishly believe they can obtain real, organic attraction from favors, when all they can do is temporarily lease it at best.

        [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

This is the core principle of the red pill. The one willing to walk away from a business transaction and take their assets to a competitor has the leverage/advantage. What I find amazing is that it is THIS act of "leaving" or "threatening" to leave the sexual bartering table that gets red pullers the inaccurate designation of "manipulators" and "users"...simply because we protect OUR interests and do not compromise our personal/sexual value and overly inflate the woman's value...what's so ironic is that women see the power of such a threat in relationships...and you will constantly see them use it on men...but the moment a man uses it against st a woman he is a considered an underhanded manipulator...because the default assumption is that a woman is the only one permitted to use this tactic as only HER interests matter. Women somehow DESERVE to be self absorbed and entitled but men must be SELFLESS...and if they aren't, then women are permitted to walk away from the transaction...

        [–]MarinTaranu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe that, from a philosophical viewpoint, people in general, attribute more value to themselves that they're worth. There is no easy way to gauge a person's value, it is not something that can be quantified in numbers. In addition, even if a person is totally worthless, they will still assign themselves a positive value, because self-esteem, especially if they live in an egalitarian society. Ex. (my vote, my opinion, is worth equal to the smartest NASA scientists or doctors from Mayo Clinic). You also have all the Disney movies presenting girls like princesses, and with inherent high value, so of course, it makes women think they have high inherent value. It creates a cycle of self-value feeding on itself and breaking out of reasonable constraints. Notice, please, that every time a scientist or inventor is presented in a Disney movie, he is a sort of a kook. Reality contradicts fiction when we look at all the engineers and scientists that make everyone's life better, with real results, as they are the unsung heroes of society. Instead of looking at those people as role models, media points society into adoring sports stars, movie stars, and general socialites. Unless this condition continues, we will continue to live in a distorted reality where practicing TRP is necessary to rebalance the system.

        What is this?

        [–]flexiblehold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now astute readers among you might say, “Well Archwinger, by being like this, aren’t I being a shitty friend and a guy who takes more value than he adds? Aren’t I being the kind of person other people should walk away from if they took your advice?”

This position is not astute at all. If you are a high value person you add value when you interact with others. It's simply supply and demand, when you are in short supply the demand for you increases. That doesn't make you shitty by any stretch.

        [–]Echelon64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The source of your power stems from the ability to walk away

Applies to all facets of talking with a woman, not just a relationship. If she isn't interested or playing hard to get, move the fuck on.

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I don't do is chase after a woman who just had an attack of the Emotional Chaos Syndrome and who walked out of the room, building, public area, etc. It's just another shit test.

While a plate was over at my condo one night I called her bluff on something. Her reaction? Gathering her things, stomping loudly across the living room, and slamming the door with enough force to shake the entire building...all at 2 AM. While she sat in her car for a few minutes waiting for me to come apologize, I stuck to my guns and did not chase after her. I turned off the lights, locked the door and went to bed. She finally got the hint and drove off.

The next time I talked to her she admitted me doing that made her want me even more.

Imagine a little girl throwing a tantrum trying to manipulate daddy into buying her the pony on her birthday. Seems they never grow out of that mentality. Once they figure out it works...

So as I understand it (and I may be wrong) the correct response for every one of their shit tests is to give them a Reassuring Display of Masculinity, what does it say about their brains constantly having to come up with their effing tests in the first place?

        [–]tallwheel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this used to be dating 101: If you suck and don’t make me happy, I will leave.

Oh everyone still knows this, but for some reason they seem to think this only applies for women. It's men's job to make women happy, and if he doesn't, she will leave.

Last night I was flirting very heavily with this 6 with a huge rack. She was eating it up, dropping hints about how eating fruit in a guy is important to her etc. Throwing out shit tests and I'm deflecting them with ease while looking right in her eyes. Finally its getting late and I suggest another bar down the street. She says she's staying there. I motion for the check and pay. She's all like "you're leaving?" I said "I want to go to bar x" and I got up and left.

She stammers out "I'm around here all the time" while looking shocked.

It was incredible. The look on her face . . .

There. Now we’re all politically correct. Because being politically correct is really important!

        NOT IN MY TRP GODDAMMIT

        Joking aside though:

That’s really the core of The Red Pill when you think about it. Be worth a shit, recognize people who aren’t, and treat the people who aren’t appropriately.

This is why I'm here. it took a while to develop the self respect to actually walk away, but once you have, doors open up and you learn to take advantage of things of you didn't even notice before, giving you more incentive to walk. Not just with women either, but in life.

This whole thing really has become more of a self improvement project to me than about women. A couple of years ago I would never have imagined I could ever say to myself in a mirror "hey, you're actually not a worthless piece of shit!", and it's posts like this one that I have to thank for that.

        [–]Endorsed ContributorBluepillProfessor 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Archwinger is a legend in my own mind.

Rollo long ago identified the Cardinal Rule of Relationships: In any relationship, the person with the most power is the one who needs the other the least- a/k/a the power in the relationship rests on your ability to walk away.

I think a lot of married serial cheaters might tell you the power is in your ability to fuck other women, not necessarily in the ability to walk away.

        [–]TRP VanguardArchwinger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. Other women are neither here nor there.

If you're willing to walk, even with nothing else on the woman horizon, because you only keep the relationships that add value to your life, that's your power.

If you happen to have five other women to go fuck, that's just gravy. It's not those other women that make you valuable or powerful. They're a side effect of that.

        [–]GREF_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why you should never get married, it destroys your ability to walk away.

        [–]sympathetic_receptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup and yup. Very long story short, I was with a hard-to-get, very attractive woman for a couple months and it got to a point where it seemed like shw had the power and control of the relationship despite my reading the red pill gospel a few times a week.

Last week she was increasingly giving me more bullshit, so I pretty much just said "ok that's it for me, no thanks, I'm out" over text one night and turned my phone on silent. The next day, not only did I have a few dozen texts about how much she loves me, needs me, wants me, she also left work early (she has a high paying important job with hundreds of employees, this was a big risk) to drive two hours to take me out and work out the details.

Since then she has been telling me how much she adores me every day and keeps bringing up how she will work very hard not to lose me. one time she even said, 'you know, maybe you dropping me like that was exactly what I needed, even tho it crushed me'.

        [–]Bassbomber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replied to an /r/teenagers post where a complete beta was having problems with a girl. I said he need to do a lot of the things mentioned in this post. Came back an hour later to a bunch of down votes, but only positive comments. This shit works and people (AKA Women) are against this knowledge being spread.

        [–]1rlh1271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter how large of a pile of shit you’re handing out. It will never be worth the tiniest gold nugget.

Tell that to the guano industry!

        [–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

“Negging” a woman? Implementing “dread game?” “Agreeing and amplifying” the shit-test issues she brings to you? The “IDGAF” attitude? These are all behaviors that give the impression of a man that could walk away at any moment.

This is one of the things I don't like about TRP.... but I suppose it's fair to 'fake it till you make it'

I never bother with negging or dread and I just don't bother with shit tests aside from... "I'm not playing that game... let's talk about x"

But then again, I'm 40... in darn good shape, I make over 100K doing research in genetics and frankly... I really can walk away. I have two houses and a nice retirement coming my way soon. My LTR is great. I love her and would hate to lose her but she can be replaced. I know it and she knows it.

You people are seriously fucked up. My wife requires no 'management'. No 'detachment'. I am not 'willing to walk away' - because relationships can be valuable. In your daft power struggle, no one is willing to admit to wanting to stay and work on solutions. Hence, yes - all of YOUR relationships will eventually end.

Your 'power' does not lie in ANYTHING but your ability to find the right kind of person to spend your life with. THAT is power. That is choice. Your daft power-games inside any given relationship are nothing but self-delusion holding back your own developmental maturity.

I am a men's-rights advocate - but you people are still boys. 'Relationships' are man territory, not RPG-playing boy territory.

Edit: Good luck on maintaining your immature attitude towards relationships when the main reason for all relationships finally arrives - children. So you say all your power lies in being able to 'walk away', huh?

        Walk away from them, then.

I bet you also go on about how important fatherhood is, too.......

A relationship does not, itself, have value, just because it’s a relationship.

If your wife is a sexless, disrespectful, ungrateful cunt, because she knows you’ll never leave, you’re too much of a loser to find anyone else, and she’ll get your kids, your house, and a shit-ton of your money if you do, you should kick her ass to the curb on principle.

The relationship, itself, is not worth something just because it’s a relationship. Just because you’ve invested into it in the past and don’t want to cut your losses.

That’s one of the hardest parts of life. Cutting out the bad relationships. You’ve invested so much into so many people, and you’re just giving up on that investment and those people if you walk. So you tell yourself that you’re being a “real man” by sticking to those relationships. That you’re being strong, loyal, devoted, and pushing through, working on things, communicating, trying your hardest. But deep down inside, you’re a timid little boy. You’re staying because it’s easy, not hard. Because you’re afraid of change, of the future, of not finding anything better, or even of not finding anything else at all.

There are 7 billion people on Earth. No one person is inherently special or valuable. If somebody is sucking more time and resources out of you than what they’re contributing to your life, you don’t double down and sink even more time and resources into communicating and counseling and “working on solutions.” You go to one of the other 6,999,999,999 people.

        Sunk cost fallacy essentially.

Cutting your losses and walking away from the relationship is actually the easiest route to take. And in my book and others makes you a man-child. That's teenage/early 20s club banger talk. Just imagine trying to explain to your children that it was too difficult to forge a relationship with their mother because she's an "ungrateful cunt."

Now staying and accepting someone for their faults and accepting your own faults and laying them out on the table so that you can both make them work to your advantage takes guts. Especially if you have positive history together. Ultimately if this is achieved the two will be stronger and more mindful people. And that translates to real world scenarios outside of the relationship.

        my downvoted point exactly.

As always, it's a fine line and the truth is somewhere in the middle.

        [–]BigDickInCharge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably - but if it is in the middle somewhere, then OP is incorrect - and off the middle path by some way.

        [–]BigDickInCharge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dude - I said because they 'can' be valuable - and clearly mine is. So what you said is pointless.

My power lies not in my ability to 'walk away' - but in my ability to attract the best kind of people.

        [–]QuickOutlander -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The bit about this not being manipulative seems a bit off base. Isn't the entire premise of your piece to teach people how to urge others into valuing their time by making them feel like they could walk away at any moment? If I've interpreted TRP's definition of women correctly those are the tactics that some females, especially the demographic this subreddit clumps all women into, use on more vulnerable men (99.99% of TRP subscribers). Which in turn makes them one of those uncaring women who are only out to groom their egos. (Only keeping people around who strive to please) It's a hypocrisy really, can't beat them might as well join them right?

Aren't they the reason why most of you have adopted this line of thinking? Masking your true selves to adapt more to a society that has won against you and forced you to change so that you all can cope.

You said it yourself, if there are people in your life who drag you down then you should certainly cut them out. And if they value you as a person then THEY will make improvements in themselves to make a positive impact on YOUR life. If not then fuck em. You are better off without them. This is the most important point you've made and really the best lesson anyone can take from this.

That being said making someone "afraid" of losing time spent with you is precisely what you all lobby against. Because that person making you submit has an overinflated sense of self-worth (IDGAF) and they force you to adapt to or lose them. You in turn DGAF and adopt that lifestyle and begin to make others feel the same way you did pre-TRP It's a vicious cog of lies that unfortunately is an easy catch all for those looking for satisfaction in themselves (stroking egos) No one really wants to confront their own nightmares and so they glaze over them and I don't see how this benefits anyone.

If people had a way to actually cope with emotion and gain the guts to fucking face themselves in their truest form they would gain confidence through understanding themselves better and go on to become a stable and well liked person and a true alpha motherfucker.
