We Have Changed (self.TheRedPill)

submitted by Endorsed ContributorKeffirLime

Context: A reddit quarantine period is time given to a sub/community to change their ways, in our case to cleanse ourselves of our supposed toxic masculinity and head towards a more fem-positve direction.

Entering our quarantine phase it was brought to our attention that this community required change. In light of recent events, and having read some of the material pertaining to positive masculinity, I wanted to be one of the first to announce to our reddit overlords that we have changed.

We have changed from the men who were skinny/fat and timid that women were afraid or never felt comfortable being with.

We have changed from the men who were too shy and afraid to make a move when she was asking for it.

We have changed from the men who would lay all our emotional baggage onto women.

We have changed from the men who used to fight and argue incessantly with the women close to them.

We have changed from the men who didn't have direction, which affected our partner's.

We have changed from the men who would leave women bored and emotionless.

We have changed from the men who put the burden on women to give our life meaning.

We have changed from the men who never understood what a women's want and needs were.

We have changed from the men who didn't know what the best way to support women was.

We have changed from the men who would get jealous and angry every time our women went out.

We have changed from the men who expected blind loyalty from women no matter how we behaved.

We have changed from the men who expected women to behave the same way men do.

We have changed from the men couldn't be the rock that our women so desired in difficult times.

We have changed from the men who couldn't let women be themselves, the feminine ladies that they are.

We have changed from the men who loved women only for the fantasy they represented.

We have changed from the men who had unrealistic expectations of women due to our societal conditioning.

We have changed from the men who couldn't make our women happy.

What have we become?

We have become well built, healthy men that our women are proud to be with. Men who look out for and protect their women when needed.

We have become confident men, men that converse and engage positively with women who want them.

We have become emotionally stable men who have their trials and tribulations under control, men that don't lay their issues onto women who deal with struggles of their own.

We have become men who don't argue and fight endlessly with their women, but rather deal with issues quickly and swiftly in a civilized manner.

We have become men with direction, men who know where we're going and are not relying on a woman to guide us to happiness.

We have become men who make our partners feel excited and alive at the prospect of life with us.

We have become men who's lives have meaning and purpose, not attached to what our women provide.

We have become men that understand the wants and needs of women and how to fulfill them.

We have become men who know how to support women, so that they can be all that they can be.

We have become men who don't get jealous and angry at their woman, but rather men who let them go, to be free, if it is not meant to be.

We have become men who don't expect blind loyalty from their woman, but rather men who understand that their behavior does influence how loyal their women are.

We have become men who understand that men and women are different, and that it is wrong for us to expect women to abide by a male standard.

We have become the emotional rock and voice of reason that helps bring stability to women in times of hardship and sadness.

We have become the men who have helped their women to flourish in all their feminine glory. By being the men we've become, it has allowed them to be women.

We have become men who love women not for the fantasy of what they should be, but rather the reality of who they really are.

We have become men that do not have unrealistic expectations of women due to our societal conditioning, but rather men who have calibrated our expectations accordingly.

We have become men that make our women happier than they've ever been.

We have become men.

We have truly changed many men in our years of TRP into a more positive brand of masculinity, and I hope we continue to change many men in the foreseeable future.

Edit: For those missing it: Meant to be tongue in cheek, but there is undoubtedly truth in the statements made.

What's sad is, I've been coming to this subreddit for about four years now, and I can say unequivocally that I treat women much better now than I did when back I was a card-carrying feminist. I'm more emotionally aware, more compassionate, more in touch with women. I'm now better able to speak up for myself, to recognize what's important to me, to strive to be better. A lot of that came from reading this subreddit, digesting its perspective among many.

I don't agree with everything posted on this subreddit. The fanfictions supposedly written by Brock McSquatthrust can be a bit much. But you know what the great thing about having a brain is? I can use it to think, "Hmm, I'm onboard with this idea, but I don't like that idea, and this other idea... I'll have to give it some more thought."

Reddit mods, I'm an adult. I don't need you to protect me from ideas you think are dangerous. I can make that distinction for myself. Just as children need to get hurt playing to learn their boundaries, so too do people need to be able to hurt themselves with bad ideas on their journey toward being self-realized. People radicalize because they can't think for themselves. Do you honestly think that preventing people from reading what they want to read will help anyone? Society has been through this already; there's a reason we celebrate banned books; there's a reason I can go to the library and read Mein Kempf if I want to. I'm not denying that some ideas are dangerous. I'm saying that it's always more dangerous to stifle an idea than to let it breathe.

“When you tear out a man's tongue, you are not proving him a liar, you're only telling the world that you fear what he might say.”

[–]Psycholephant 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Best reply to this situation I have seen yet. Completely agreed.

[–]sigma272 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can go to the library and read Mein Kempf if I want to

And if you did, none of what's happening in 2018 would surprise you. National socialism arose in Germany as a direct response to Weimar. And we're getting pretty close in the modern West. The only non-economic difference I can think of is that our child brothels are not yet public.

[–]TigerXtrm 59 points60 points  (5 children)

Serious question though, have the Reddit admins told the mods what the problems were exactly and how they could be fixed? Or was this really just a "we don't like your opinion, be gone."?

[–]Endorsed ContributorKeffirLime[S] 135 points136 points  (4 children)

It's supposedly because we're misogynistic, which is essentially: "We disagree with you, therefore you are mysoginistic".

If you click on our quarantine page link it takes you to a lady who believes men should be 10% of the population. Which is not not misandry at all.

[–]TigerXtrm 35 points36 points  (1 child)

I read that page for a bit. Never seen so much feminist bullshit in my life to be honest.

[–]DBOLinouttacontrol 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It's hilarious. They have these pictures of these macho-looking dudes, and all the articles about masculinity are basically along the lines of, "How can masculinity work with feminism?" Masculinity and femininity are completely independent of each other. The only reason you would feel the need to introduce feminism into a discussion about masculinity would be to teach men how to serve women. It's not about working together because that happens naturally when both parties are taking care of what they need to take care of, it's about women taking on masculinity themselves, and pushing men to the side.

[–]3LiveAFTSOV 57 points58 points  (10 children)

Goodbye to controversial topics = any True redpill post could send it I to a full ban, not just quarantine

[–]Shadowthrice 55 points56 points  (3 children)

Nah, fuck that. If merely mentioning "Dread Game" or "AWALT" is going to make them ban us, then let them do it.

There is only so much cucking one can take before it is time to walk away.

[–]Grimsterr 78 points79 points  (1 child)

Reddit isn't a unicorn, might be time to next her and move on.

[–]Endorsed ContributorKeffirLime[S] 16 points17 points  (1 child)

True, although maybe we have a leg to stand on seeing as people now have to agree to see controversial material prior to entering TRP.

[–]3LiveAFTSOV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The agreement tho!!!

True, good point

[–]Endorsed Contributorex_addict_bro 19 points20 points  (3 children)

Goodbye to controversial topics

Friend, what are you on about.

There were NO controversial topics discussed here during past 6-8 months.

"But but but e_a_b, remember that article by Whisper..."

There were no controversial discussions.

Controversial posts were downvoted by brigades into oblivion.

Controversial posts were removed by the mods because of shitstorms they caused, like the one about cumming inside random girls on holiday.

There were "women bad" posts discussed, of course. Upvoted!

There were "TRP straight from horses mouth" that went like "I haven't fucked my wife for months but listen what her friend said about her ex-husband who had a big dick" - very popular.

The typical shitposting here. That was discussed.

Typical posts by ECs were misunderstood. Maybe except our OP, as from what I see, Keffir likes to write digestible material for beginners (OP - no critique over here, not my type of articles but I respect nonetheless).

All the other valuable stuff either had to be either stickied, if you're part of the crew or you just were lucky that it caught RPS' eye or announced by mods.

There was that time when RPS started posting stuff like a madman - that moment I hoped for that lockdown period to come back, yearly. Remember he locked down that page and started posting old stuff, like 2-3 yrs old, only valuable?

I for one hope that they burn this shit show this subreddit has become down to the ground. Since a year or so I'm 3rd place in the "top tippers" at trp.red and I'm willing to send them some more funds as long as this forum goes down. Fuck, once this place goes down I consider going public with my stuff, perhaps under a different name, because sometimes I fuck english speaking girls.

I hope it fucking goes down and all those stupid fuckers that don't really deserver to knit an ECs shoelace go fucking themselves over r slash cumfromanal , including that idiot reddit mod who posted a link to soy university.

Scum deserves to die. This place deserves to die. We have changed.

There is "leftist agenda", there is some kind of "global conspiracy" but the worst conspiracy that made it harder to evangelise TRP are our own guts, our own brains carving for dopamine/vodka/cigarettes/sugar/external validation from mommy. That's the worst controversy over here I've ever read.

Making people feel uneasy. That's the true meaning of "TRP controversy" for me. And I don't remember having any controversial discussions over there, because the real controversial stuff was downvoted massively and usually went under my radar.

Regards,

[–]Endorsed ContributorKeffirLime[S] 12 points13 points  (2 children)

The problem is the upvote/downvote system. It skews everything. Reddit is designed for open discourse(well clearly not entirely open given our quarantine) not to educate.

Trying to teach or get a message across is difficult on a platform where everyone's vote has the same weighting.

Especially when the majority of the readership(including a huge amount of Anger phase and MGTOWS) are still coming to grips with the concepts here and therefore vote for content that is relatable, but not necessarily congruent with the theory.

I try write most of my stuff to be as palatable as possible for the average bloke coming in here but to be honest I feel I have an inverse relationship with my content. My best stuff gets the least/less upvotes because as you say, it's tougher to digest.

Perhaps this is something that will be remedied in moving across to trp.red.

The problem is current paradigm. Democracy is valued over meritocracy, at least that's what masses are conditioned to believe.

Fuck, is there a "democracy in maths subreddit"? So I can upvote, that 2+2 is 5?

Compare to StackOverflow. High quality, but a lot of policy and rules. Meritocracy at it's finest.

Fuck this bitch and trp.red all the way from now on.

Let's stop acting like an alcoholics wife with Stockholm syndrome. Dear Reddit, thank you very much for hosting us for all those years and for letting us grow, we're off.

[–]Endorsed ContributorKeffirLime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hahahaha fuck

I see so much opportunity on trp.red to tailor it to a mare effective platform

Let's stop acting like an alcoholics wife with Stockholm syndrome

They basically just issued us with divorce papers, let's clean the fuckers out.

[–][deleted] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My neighbor had a full on screaming match last night with a bitch he's known for less than 2 weeks who is living with him. A proper grounding in Red Pill principles (and a frame made of something other than rotten saplings) would have prevented this mess.

I don't wear shirts all that often at home, although it's finally cooling off. Bitch used her art as an excuse to hang out with me a couple days ago, showed me a couple admittedly good pieces. I decided, I really ought to put a shirt on, as it would be impolite to be talking to some dudes gf, in my apartment, shirtless. She showed a little pout. Stay under the barbell!

How many AWALTs are in this story? Branch swinging, absolutely raw hypergamy, etc.

Did I say bitch? I meant princess!

[–][deleted] 34 points35 points  (3 children)

Despite the gushyness, Its great to see this. Just ended a LTR. Full RP and found me a "unicorn", slipped away and here I am, back at square one. Lift, Sidebar, Build. What the fuck is this quarantine shit.

[–]Endorsed ContributorKeffirLime[S] 28 points29 points  (1 child)

Meant to be more tongue in cheek, but there is undoubtedly truth in the statements made.

No such thing as back at square one, you've lived and learned, and even got burned. Put that knowledge to good use.

[–]chrisname 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Full RP and found me a "unicorn", slipped away and here I am, back at square one

It really sucks when you let yourself get re-betafied. Just over a year ago I had two GFs at once for the first time ever, and they even knew about each other, didn't have to lie. One of them managed to ensnare me and now I have zero GFs. No more LTRs for me.

[–]nomsgplz 41 points42 points  (7 children)

No.

I no longer want to make anyone happy. My needs come first. That's what changed in me. What's up with this submissive posts. If reddit don't like it then so be it. Why do you care about being liked

[–]Endorsed ContributorKeffirLime[S] 14 points15 points  (5 children)

Missed the point, it's not about making anyone happy. They are happy by virtue of being with you.

[–]nomsgplz 8 points9 points  (4 children)

I get the point. Its begging for validation. If my deeds bring happiness to others then good for them, if it don't, I do it regardless. I don't want their approval

[–]Endorsed ContributorKeffirLime[S] 6 points7 points  (3 children)

If my deeds bring happiness to others then good for them

Once again, this is the point.

The Sky is blue.

Fires are hot.

Bagging a high value man makes women happy.

Simply statements, anything else you attach to it is of your own doing.

[–]nomsgplz 10 points11 points  (2 children)

No, this is not the point. You are making an assumption that being high value always means that they end up being the source of happiness of others. When in fact if you look around yourself and see people who have power, they give two shit about your happiness. They deliberately and subtly bring upon distress to others and make others feel small and insecure. And they do it in a way that instead of you thinking that he made me feel small, you will feel that he is so powerful and of high value. You want to associate to them regardless of your emotional state.

Do you think women want to be happy? They are instinctively masochists, and stays with the men with whom they feel victimized. And don't get me start with the society. They will be happy when you die for their well-being, they will call you hero and celebrate you. Making the society happy should be last thing in your mind.

It happens that some of the times that bringing value to yourself will bring value to others due to the transactional nature of relationships. In those circumstances I would suggest to raise your price to how much you can push to, don't give them the improved version for the same old price.

My problem is with the asking for validation nature of this post. Its saying that please like me because I am benefiting you in some way. You do your thing regardless it benefits others or not.

This is some cringe male feminist tone. I expect women to sacrifice their desires and their true nature for me if she wants my commitment or time. My commitment is a huge sacrifice, I go against my nature to provide it. She have to go against her nature of not being a whore and seek for excitement. I understand all her desires, but I expect her to sacrifice them, or else she can be demoted to a plate.

[–]Endorsed ContributorKeffirLime[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that being high value always means that they end up being the source of happiness of others

I would never make such a ludicrous generalization.

When in fact if you look around yourself and see people who have power, they give two shit about your happiness.

This is not a pre-requisite of power. In a man-women context, you can comfortably have the power and still bring great joy to a women. You can have the power and bring misery too, but it's certainly not a requirement. That is a question of morality, which I won't discuss here. Personally I always choose the former.

Do you think women want to be happy? They are instinctively masochists, and stays with the men with whom they feel victimized

I do, I think they want to be with a high value man more though. They stay with men who they deem to be high value, who can make them happy or miserable as I stated.

My problem is with the asking for validation nature of this post. Its saying that please like me because I am benefiting you in some way

There is no asking, this post is a telling, for the last time, you have missed the point. It's not saying please like me because I am benefitting you. It's simply saying I am benefiting you. If you are worried about the validation after that, that's on you.

[–]DrMrJrSr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I expect women to sacrifice their desires and their true nature for me if she wants my commitment or time.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but wouldn't that be expecting women to behave as men do?

[–]justtenofusinhere 13 points14 points  (1 child)

No, just no.

You are trying to bargain with them and making the first concession which is the only one they need TRP to make to ensure they win.

In a nut shell, your argument reads as, "But TRP IS extremely beneficial to women. Look at all the ways what happens here makes it better for women." And that is the entirety of your argument.

You are conceeding that they are right if what happens here doesn't benefit their priorities. You are admitting that TRP cannot exist for it's own sake. This is always the first step in allowing women in and destroying male space. ALWAYS.

[–]Endorsed ContributorKeffirLime[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have no intention to fight for trp to stay here. This is their platform, we have been guests here. They have issued our marching orders, it's time to move on to a realm where we make the rules.

This is simply a tongue in cheek response that in essence says, we won't change.

We'll rather fuck off.

[–]Gimmick_puppet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Merely changing yourself into a better man is, by definition, misogynistic. You release yourself from the power women hold over you and reclaim it for yourself. This is the modern definition of misogyny. Even if women have 90% of the power and a man tries to reclaim just 1% of that power, that is sexist because it is hurting women since they go from having 90% of the power to now only having 89%. Because of the natural victim complex most women have, they will always believe they only possess 10% of the power even when they have 90% or even 100%. So they don't see it as going from 90% to 89%; they see it as going from 10% to 9%. And remember, everyone hates to see the struggle and the work behind the journey. They only care and support the finished product. This includes this very subreddit which is dedicated to the journey.

[–]Sean_Connor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This quarantine is an attempt at forcing ideological conformity. It's intellectual intimidation.

[–]squnt_mansly 12 points13 points  (3 children)

Honestly, this is a little weird. No, this looks very weird.

I get and support the sentiments of growth, but lets not forget those that come here looking for some answers, like so many, including myself did. But, this is bad presentation in my opinion. I'd hate for TRP to become the self-congratulating circle jerk that so many here actively prevent. That's honestly what this looks like. Seriously. I've had two people show me this sub today because of the quarantine. A lot of guys are curious for the first time because of it. Let's not fuck ourselves with overly grand or inside rhetoric now after policing bullshit for so long.

[–]Endorsed ContributorKeffirLime[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Think I mentioned it a few times in the comments, this is tongue in cheek, not really a serious post.

[–]superyute 2 points3 points  (1 child)

it should be obvious and easily deducted upon first read if that was your intent.

but it's not that obvious

[–]karmalizing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is. Are you tone deaf.

[–]gbdoragnic 12 points13 points  (1 child)

> We have become men with direction, men who know where we're going and are not relying on a woman to guide us to happiness.

But the side bar represented a man who had direction, and purpose and a mission , he just realized he should be more selfish and entitled. Not succeeding with women isn't due to a lack of direction.

We were always men and always had the answer, the question was being ourselves, being ourselves is defined as hateful misogynistic women , your post doesn't change that. You are hated, take this as a lesson of the myth of misogyny, if you don't hate women, and I don't hate women, than someone is lying.

> We have become the men who have helped their women to flourish in all their feminine glory. By being the men we've become, it has allowed them to be women.

I didn't become a new person that is impossible, or egoistical, I'm the same guy at 4 years old, I just realized that it's a viable options

> We have become the emotional rock and voice of reason that helps bring stability to women in times of hardship and sadness.

The fuck I did, I became a dude who plays more video games, and depends on women to help pay the bills, being a solo rock is hard , red pill has made more calculating and able to negotiate better deals for myself, women now buy me dinner after I fuck them in hotels.

> We have become men that make our women happier than they've ever been.

I became happier, not really concern about her happiness , that is her own personal shit

[–]Endorsed ContributorKeffirLime[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not succeeding with women isn't due to a lack of direction.

It certainly can inhibit success with women

We were always men and always had the answer

We were always men, but not always masculine men. In a gynocentric society with masculinity labeled as "toxic" most men don't know where masculinity starts and where it ends. We're "equal" remember.

I didn't become a new person

It's the behavioral and physical changes that take place

The fuck I did, I became a dude who plays more video games

This is relating to being somewhat stoic in times of stress

I became happier

You stumbled into the point here. A women wants a high value man, TRP is the toolbox that assists in that regards. It creates better, high value men(happier) who women are happy to have.

[–]themaindish444 3 points4 points  (1 child)

What do you think was the final straw on this quarantine? I bet some women working at Reddit were flipping out about this Brett Kavanaugh situation so they scapegoat TRP to placate them

[–]Endorsed ContributorKeffirLime[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that was part of it, a larger part of it is the lib lefts drive to censor any opposing groups with a significant following. Milo, Alex Jones, etc

[–]RepostGhostCst2Cst 2 points3 points  (1 child)

We need the sidebar. I don't care if we can't even post in here anymore. The collection needs to be kept.

Most of what gets posted here now is trash anyways

[–]eluethero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So literally we are being treated as we have influenza. I did not know reality was that disasterous.

[–]Duzand 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Meant to be tongue-in-cheek?

People are "missing" it because that means you don't really believe what you wrote.

[–]Endorsed ContributorKeffirLime[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's all lie, thanks for clarifying.

[–]morebeansplease 1 point2 points  (2 children)

This seems so easy. If we just recognize positive feminism its okay to rail on toxic feminism all day long. Lets avoid meeting the definition of hate group...

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hate_group

Remind me again, why am I not supposed to acknowlege positive feminism?

[–]iLLprincipLeS 2 points3 points  (1 child)

The Red Pill is positive feminism. It helped more women indirectly by offering them a quality male partner that knows and respects the woman for what she is compared to what mainstream toxic feminism does by creating and endorsing male feminists that rape women. For example: Harvey Weinstein is a creation of Toxic Feminism.

[–]morebeansplease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're arguing from the perspective of the human condition. Feminism is an academic idea. Arguing about emotional satisfaction to academics is like trying to prove religion is real because people have faith. Good luck with that.

[–]MeanCaregiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just join TRP blog if you really want https://www.forums.red/i/TheRedPill/

[–]FinancierGuru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stay strong. Stay smart.Book of The Underdog is here.

[–]Brickles09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put an answer at /divorce and briefly mentioned Rollo Tomassi. Banned!

[–]edargham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've said it before we need to build a modern forum as a plan B if we got booted out of here.

I mean the MGTOW guys have one and it looks slick.

We should really give trp.red a facelift and make it our main goto place.

[–]RudeGarbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Careful on your phrasing. I understand what you mean by 'asking for it', but the people who criticize this community look to posts like this and want to go 'WHAT A RAPIST. HE SAID SHE WAS ASKING FOR IT'. There are also young guys on here who may not be mature enough to recognize the difference between going for a kiss after prolonged romantic eye-contact vs. "Yeah I held her down and fucked her after she kissed me even though she didn't want to take it that far, she was asking for it."

Again, I know what you meant. But this community has a reeeeally bad PR perception, which can be improved if the message is refined.

[–]Nov51605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Powerful message ! I know you're kinda underselling it with the sarcasm intent, but come on, there was def some fuckin passion in that which delivered the goods !

[–]sackofwisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"We have changed from the men who expected women to behave the same way men do. "

That's a big reason for the ban. Men and women are exactly the same, unless there's a rape allegation.

[–]Opioidus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did this too late to be effective, the fire has already started, when I first joined here it had less than 1000 subscribers, even then it would have been too late.

[–]Ramp_Up_Then_Dump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclaimer: Well, free speech is to hot topic so i ll tell my opinion about this post without filters. I am not troll. I use trp knowledge and lift 4 times a week, twice each workout day. I can handle immorality(not trp but usage of trp is immoral) but i hate justification. That is male hamster. I wish I would be wrong in this comment but I am not.

Someone would think red pillers are great man, good BFs and husband from what you wrote. But all of the good stuff you listed are used for fuck as many as sluts you can, manipulate women to have sex with you(all these kino&game try hardness, not following IOIs), having soft harem of sluts.

If what you listed were %100 true, trp-women sub would show us as ideal bfs/husbands.

We have changed. We were losers, incels, dumped divorcees, creeps. Now we are pussy slayers and players, thats all. Fixed for %80 of community.

Think about "being emotional rock for women while fucking plater numer 5' ass.

[–]XfactorCQ 1 point2 points  (10 children)

This sounds bad to be honest.

It's nice that those soyboys become something that resembles a man but the fact that they did not know all this before finding this subreddit just proves they're just bunch of betas.

[–]Endorsed ContributorKeffirLime[S] 5 points6 points  (9 children)

I think all men in todays day and age have beta tendencies, some more than others, even the most Alpha men I've encountered are hopelessly unaware of some of the beta shit they do.

Especially in such a femcentric society where any shred of masculinity is viewed as "toxic". Most men don't have a beacon of what masculinity really is until they stumble into a sub such as this.

For some it's the first time masculinity is painted with a positive brush.

even the most Alpha men I've encountered are hopelessly unaware of some of the beta shit they do.

The story I related in this thread, the guy definitely has Alpha traits. Big, strong guy, military vet, now studying some sort of environmental science. Yet, he's beta enough to play Capt'n Save a Ho.

It's more common than you'd believe.

We're all basically imprinted during our formative years to "be nice or else" and "respond to institutional authority".

That's actually why leftists hate Trump so much -- they want to respond to institutional authority.. but not THAT kind of institutional authority, so Trump being in charge creates massive cognitive dissonance, and they flip out.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Look, that's a comforting reasoning for hating Trump, and I won't deny that plenty of leftists feel that way. Just know that some of us hate Trump for other reasons. His business career was nothing compared to a "vulture capitalist" like Romney and his military career was an absolute disgrace. His zero sum thinking is the opposite of good deal making, because people won't make a fucking deal with you unless they are better off too. Think win/win. The further I drift right, the more I hate Trump.

[–]karmalizing 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Well, I think you're wrong. I believe that you hate Trump for emotional reasons and dress it up with rationality. He is the first republican president who has been good for the economy EVER, in anyone's lifetime who is under 40. Even Reagan was a cuck who allowed tons of immigration.

His business career doesn't matter, beyond the fact that he knows how to play all the manipulative games that come along with wielding a lot of power and influence. His military career doesn't matter - would you prefer a crypto leftist like McCain? Or a crypto-Islamist like Brennan? How about a nuclear deal with Iran by John Kerry? These men all have sterling military records and are practically traitors against our country, zero hyperbole.

Do you believe that you can judge Trump from a militaristic perspective yet Maddog Mattis and his five-star General Chief of Staff cannot? Please.

You don't like Trump, I'm guessing, because he is a big ol' meanie and he just rubs you the wrong way. But only a totally narcissistic dickhead would be tough enough to deal with the outrageous and unprecedented globalist assaults currently being levied upon our country by leftists. We have exactly the president that we need, and it's a miracle, imo, things were almost too far gone. There are very few rational reasons to dislike Trump, let alone hate him, if you are on the right. Only emotional reasons that are ultimately grounded in beta thinking like "he just isn't honorable enough."

Completely and utterly incorrect. You're telling me that I'm wrong about the workings of my own mind. Your line is a standard line I hear over and over again.

Maddog Mattis

You mean the warrior monk? Every vet I met loves the guy, and I see why.

Well, that could be true, however, I'm correct for 99%+ of people.

If you want, please tell me what RATIONAL reason there is to dislike Trump given all the good he has done.

I genuinely cannot fathom a legit conservative hating him. You have some core belief he violated and I'm curious what that is. Again, it sounds like it has to do with "honor" to me.

Yep, and he seems to be 100% just fine with Trump.

First off, I do have a strong bias towards military men being commander in chief. In my lifetime, that is Bush Sr. Eisenhower is the only other man qualified, in my opinion, in living memory, to be president. If you've not been shot at in anger, you have no business being President.

Back to Trump....first off, anyone on this side of the quarantine, I'm going to show respect to, and most people don't seem to mind that insulting Trump often insults Trump voters/supporters by extension. This is a mistake, in both directions. He's pulled off one hell of a hat trick, as he is an elite man from elite schools who ran in elite circles and yet captured the imagination of millions of people who often have been more or less left behind. This really should not be ignored, and being a straight, white, middle aged man myself, I get it.

To get into some details....for all of the American bellyaching about "Globalists" it should be understood that these institutions have been extensions of American power. The IMF, World Bank, UN Security Council...these are all (or used to be) instruments of American power through which we exerted our influence on the world. The UN General Assembly gets much of the attention, with all of its absurdities, but the power lies in the Security Council.

However, not everybody has benefited, and it is heartless to just shrug about that. Still, make no mistake, other countries hate these "Globalist" institutions far more than just about any American, because again, they were instruments of American power and dominance.

OK, on to Trump himself. Early on, I was very optimistic. I mean, he's a deal maker, right? Infrastructure should have been the very, very start. He likes building shit. OK, well, that's what made America great (we don't need to be made great again, we've been great since the close of WW1) and that's what would extend American greatness, which is a project I am totally down for. Some sort of grand bargain to put people all across the country to work improving their communities and connections between them.

INSTEAD WE GOT PERMANENT TAX CUTS FOR CORPORATIONS WHILE TAX CUTS FOR INDIVIDUALS LIKE US EXPIRE.

So fuck Trump, fuck him right in the ear.

Regards,

XXXX

Good.

IMF, World Bank, etc., are things I don't know a lot about personally.

That being said, I do feel like "exerting American power" too frequently turns into "feeding parasitic countries endlessly."

Early on, I was very optimistic.

To be honest, I wasn't. I thought Trump might be too emotionally unstable to do the job well, that he might really fail hard. I've been pleasantly surprised so far on that.

Infrastructure should have been the very, very start.

I disagree here. I would envision it like weightlifting. Building your infrastructure is just like building muscle. But you wouldn't go to the gym while someone is stabbing you. Or when you're covered in leeches. Or when you've been posioned, you need to recover from that first. Stabalize, then build muscle. That is what Trump has been doing in my mind, stabizing everything and building a foundation, doing the requisitie repairs that were needed after Obama.

You can't build a high-rise on a shitty foundation, and you can't go to the gym to build muscle when you're bleeding out. So, no, infrastructure is not first. It IS a priority but first you need to stop the bleeding.

(we don't need to be made great again, we've been great since the close of WW1)

Ehhh, we are the greatest still, but there are certainly some chinks in our armor nowadays.

INSTEAD WE GOT PERMANENT TAX CUTS FOR CORPORATIONS WHILE TAX CUTS FOR INDIVIDUALS LIKE US EXPIRE.

Okay, so here we have the root of the issue. You hate corporations, and you hate tax cuts for corporations. So much so that it has made you hate Trump. Why?

Corporations (and corporatism) is the ultimate extension of our constitution (ideally) and natural law. Freedom of association, capitalism, survival of the fittest.

There isn't some magical distinction between corporations and individuals, almost every individual works for a coporation or owns their own, or shares in one or several. What is good for corporations is generally good for most individuals.

You're inadvertently advocating liberal talking points here. The right has always been pro-business and pro-corporation, and that's a good thing. You sound like you want to screw over businesses and invest in big government (via infrastructure projects). That is not small government, and it's not traditional conservatism.

You (in my opinion) should delve into this belief, this hatred of corporations, and ask yourself why you feel that way -- and if they are really as bad as you seem to passionately believe.
