Memo to AskTRP posters: A plate is someone you are fucking regularly non-exclusively (self.asktrp)

submitted by 1HS-Thompson

I'm no O.G. or mod here but I have been answering as many questions in this sub as I've had time for, and I've noticed a point of confusion at least a dozen or more times that seems worth explicitly clarifying.

A "plate" in TRP slang is a woman who:

  1. You are fucking
  2. You're not exclusive with

Thus, it follows that:

  • If you're talking about a female that you are not fucking regularly you're not talking about a plate.

  • If you're talking about a woman that you have never had sex with you're not talking about a plate.

  • If you're talking about a girl that used to be your girlfriend and you broke up and you're not fucking her regularly she's not a plate.

  • If you are fucking a girl regularly but you call her a girlfriend and don't fuck other girls she's not a plate.

  • If you go on dates with a woman and haven't fucked her yet she's not a plate.

And so on. So, if you're thinking of posting a question here that sounds like "so there's this plate in my math class and she totally digs me and I was at the party and she fucked some other guy and I don't know what to do" or whatever, please revisit the above points. She might be a "potential plate" which is also known as any girl you would like to fuck, but a plate she is not.

If your dick hasn't been inside her, she's not a plate. There aren't really exceptions to this rule.

It really is a basic concept, that is infuriatingly misunderstood way too often.

If your dick hasn't been inside her, she's not a plate.

I would only add that fucking a girl once (maybe even twice) does not a plate, make. Meaning, there is a consistency component, as well. Successfully setup and execute a third sex-only session, that is a confirmed spinning plate.

True, but it's a start. I wouldn't fault a poster for saying they have a new plate that they met off tinder and fucked once or something, that's defensible. It's this trend of talking about plates that people have never even seen naked that's problematic.

But if you fucked her once she's not a plate either. Even twice she's not necessarily a plate. A plate just like the metaphor that it is of a spinning plate on top of a chop stick or whatever it is they balance only stays spinning because of consistency in continually pushing the edge to keep it spinning. A plate is a girl you have casual sex with on a consistent basis, without having the confines of a monogamous relationship.

I was surprised at how little mentions there were of one-night stands (ONS), but now it makes more sense.

I would also add that there is a component of emotional dependency on you with a plate. Hence the "spinning" concept.

If it's a girl that you hookup with occassionally, using each other for sex, then that's a traditional friends with benefits situation. A plate is a girl who wants to be with you. If you neglect her then she won't sleep with you anymore. You have to continue to make regular contact with her, give her a reward in the form of good sex and emotional stimulation, then let her "spin" for a bit while you focus on your other plates. If she doesn't need the attention, she's a FWB, which is a different case because you are on more equal footing with a FWB.

As Bonecrackr said in 2004, you have no relationship with a woman until you have fucked her at least once

Edit: Really, this is deep, she does not consider to have any relationship with you until she had sex with you.

Yea, I wish people would spend more time reading trp/side bar before posting. I spent a year on trp just lurking trying to learn about what red pill was and the vocabulary before I started posting. And even I came from a pua community. I think a huge problem is many of our member base is getting younger (under-21). These members have little experience and don't understand that fucking a girl makes a huge difference in the relationship between the two of you.

Read the whole NO'Maam blog, I don't know why it's not in the fucking sidebar, it has less concepts to learn, it's more to the point, it's even less politically correct than fucking Rollo, heck it's older than Pook.

Confirmed: 1 point awarded to /u/truchisoft by UnluckyPenguin. [History]

If you don't care about her leaving, she's a plate: a woman whose vagina is a lion's share of her value to you.

    [–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I disagree. A ONS, a hooker or a FWB and sometimes even a wife all meet that definition, but none of those are plates. On the flip side, a plate may be someone who you genuinely enjoy the company of to the point of her personality being more valuable to you than her pussy. A plate is characterized by "spinning" otherwise the term doesn't make any sense. "Spinning plates" is giving a few different girls enough of your time individually so that once you have her attracted and satisfied with you you can neglect her while she "spins" while you start spinning another one. It comes from the old circus act where a performer will have 5-7 plates all on poles. The performer spins one plate, and while it is spinning by itself, they jump to another one that is starting to wobble and bring it back up to speed, then to the next, and the next. If they ever let one lose too much momentum, it comes crashing to the ground out of too much neglect. If you aren't in this situation, then you don't have plates; you have something else.

    [–]reddeadpillars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to Rollo, that's not necessarily true.

    http://therationalmale.com/2011/11/02/plate-theory-ii-non-exclusivity/

    Plate Theory II:

"Spinning Plates doesn’t necessarily mean you’re fucking all of your plates."

    and,

"...you don’t have to be sexual with every one of the plates you’re spinning...It’s the potential in knowing that you could be, or that there are women who will value your attention that prompts a competitive anxiety in women."

So, if we're going by Rollo's system, and I assume we are, plates don't have to be having sex with you to be called plates. Straight from the horses mouth guys.

In other words, read the goddamn sidebar.

    [–]Overzealous_BlackGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If theres any other weird situation, between you and the woman, it should be explained clearly. Dont leave it to us to assume your situation.

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    ...

3.you can next easily. (whereas a FWB you can not, because there is a degree of habit and emotional investment)

If your dick hasn't been inside her, she's not a plate. There aren't really exceptions to this rule.

lesbians can have plates, but seriously, thank you for posting yesterday I read some wierd delusional shit about a guy that plated his wife and his mother substitute.

    [–]Ermgotthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Addementum : A plate is a chick you fucked at least TWICE. Else it's a ONS.

    [–]thenarrrowpath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. People need to read the plate theory section on Rollo's blog to really solidify that understanding.
