Would you still come to r/asktrp now that TRP is RIP? (self.asktrp)

submitted by dsharm17

I would.

If anything, this would have made me more curious.

How can ideas and information be so offensive that you have to shield grown-up people from them? People who are eligable to vote, buy guns and go to other countries to kill other people in the name of a whole country? That's gotta be some very powerful stuff there.

[–]etherael 28 points29 points  (2 children)

It's nothing to do with the offensive nature of the ideas. It's the accuracy, and what that accuracy implies about modern social civilization.

[–]SneakyTouchy 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Where's the inaccuracy?

[–]etherael 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Largely not there.

That's a severe problem for people that desperately try to deny it.

Typical response to this is to "deplatform" the inconvenient truths.

[–]jackandjill22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, agree.

[–]AwkwardEmpath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn what a good point.

[–]purplefidgetmidget 44 points45 points  (16 children)

Yeah, asktrp is much better than theredpill these days because the replies tend to be genuine red pill replies, and you can get a lot of advice and information there. The main RP subreddit tends to be a bit diluted with incels and wannabes, and has a post every 10 minutes from someone bragging about a badly disguised oneitis lucky lay that barely used any TRP philosophy, or yet another rehashing of "how to git gud, step 1, git gud" usually in the form of 'how to motivate yourself to get to the gym, step 1, git disciplined, step 2, go to the gym' which is just the most pointless advice anyone can give.

The only problem is without the new influx of people onto TRP, nobody will come here. Same issue if the sub moves to its own website, it'll just become all the hardcore users and it'll be difficult for new people to find and join.

Really, someone should make a new philosophy of TRP, minus the sexual strategy material. That would be much more palatable to the rest of reddit although it'd still suffer the hand of feminist oppression to some degree. Then have the sexual strategy material seperate on the new site.

That way confused men and incels can learn how to be better men, and have a big mindblowing Mr Miyagi Karate Kid revelation when they go to the sexual strategy website to be told 'everything you've just learned about being a man - lifting, your mission, kicking your habits - that is sexual strategy, kid. Here's the other stuff you need to know, like shit tests, beta bux, etc.'.

It'd also weed out the stupid incels that want to come and cry and abuse women and learn to manipulate the hurt their self-esteem to get laid with nasty tricks.

[–]Nicolacho7 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In my opinion Jordan Peterson is doing good for teaching people the non sexual strategy side. He puts it under the guise of responsibility and that it makes you feel good about yourself.

[–]gulag_disco 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Woah woah woah woah. Hold up, man. The primary step for new men is stepping into the gym, and there are no tricks to doing this. It’s a silver bullet, not a silver platter.

I’ve been telling my BP friends who complain about depression, anxiety, low sex drive, low motivation, this for essentially years: You are not a brain in a vat. The mind is an organ within your body. The body is the source of all positive masculine energy. There really isn’t any overstating this in TRP.

Also, I don’t think the censorship has to do jack with the PUA overlap of the sub. Discourage the “anger phase” all we like, men defining the irrational, duplicitous behaviors of women in the open is all the impetus they need to shut it down. Never mind that the first and foremost goal is self-improvement. To borrow from another comment, it’s the accuracy that’s offensive.

[–]OfficerWade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “anger phase” isn’t meant to be a phase. It’s a interrelationship with the fragments of ourselves we abandoned at an early age. We can take responsibility for the feelings without taking the blame.

Moreover, Women aren’t the bad guys here. Neither are your so called blue pill parents who for better or worse did the best they could and simply passing on the same scraps they was given. It’s no wonder men grow up confused and take on idols like Jordan Peterson or “Gym Bros” lifestyle in getting laid or whatever.

We can choose to be happy or right . And justifying anger isn’t going to make you happy. But I wouldn’t be in good company if I didn’t say at least to acknowledge your feelings and honor them. Especially when they are telling us something isn’t right.

I don't disagree, lifting is very important, but there are so many posts telling people who are finding it hard to step into the gym to 'just step into the gym bro' like that will somehow help them do it.

It's like someone trying to quit smoking, they tell you they tried to stop but they can't for more than a few days. The solution is not 'get some discipline bro, just stop smoking, it's easy, don't be weak'. They'd already have done it if that were the case. The solution is to form a plan. Give them some constructive advice. Switch to vaping, then lower the dose. Try patches, gum, counselling, pick up exercise instead or do what my friend did and just eat thousands of tiny mints every day for weeks.

Me, I hated the gym, I hated hated lifting and I found it so hard to force myself to go. I tried, but I just couldn't stick to it, it was awful. My technique was bad, I didn't feel like it was working. Telling me 'just go brah' was of no use.

I got a personal trainer and told him I am interested only in technique, spent some months learning how to lift properly, researched diet a bit more, and then used him as a crutch to force myself to go (since I was booking sessions, and they weren't cheap, I had to go). It was tough but it became routine and eventually it stuck. Then I set realistic goals and tried it alone. And now, finally, against all my old beliefs, I can't miss a session. I get anxious. I track everything on an app and I love putting in the numbers. I set up a workout and the app tells me what to do, I don't have to think, I just lift.

Now I'm happy, stronger, and slim.

I agree with you completely, regarding your last point. I just post it as a way to consider surviving on this platform.

[–]Senior Endorseddr_warlock 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I want TRP to be exclusive, not a floodgate for the hopeless.

[–]purplefidgetmidget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but you don't want it to be a circlejerk either, any community needs to be partially open. Plus I want to save as many confused men as I can, which is why I post almost exclusively on here.

Don't get me wrong though, I like this setup but I am just thinking about survivability on this platform.

[–]anabolic92 2 points3 points  (1 child)

the less rp aware people there is the better

[–]Flintblood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...confused men and incels can learn how to be better men, and have a big mindblowing Mr Miyagi Karate Kid revelation when they go to the sexual strategy website to be told 'everything you've just learned about being a man - lifting, your mission, kicking your habits - that is sexual strategy, kid. That, in a nutshell, is how it should be. Too may people try to teach or learn this stuff in reverse. I had much better the 2nd (3rd, 4th, .... 1000th) time making myself better first.

The second stage should be growing your social network abc influence. Then, you will really reap the benefits of all the other steps.

[–]trpppp123 0 points1 point  (2 children)

TRP IS about sexual strategy. Without that, it's just self-improvement. Plenty on that around already.

[–]purplefidgetmidget 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah, it's a tricky one to divide since many measure their self-improvement by how successful you are in society with women.

We could teach them the reality which is they need to be the best male in the group to get the women. It's wonderful that Jordan Peterson has opened this concept up, because although I understood it before he's pushed it to the fore of the debate - that men arrange themselves into a hierarchy for a specific task/field and women are attracted to those at the top.

So as a self-improvement sub, you don't lift to get the girl, you don't even lift for yourself to arbitrarily become a better man, you go to the gym to be better than everyone else. There was a quote on RP I read of this years back and it really stuck with me (although I can't remember it exactly). But if someone asks why I go to the gym, it's to be better than other people. To climb that dominance hierarchy. I don't impress women, I impress men, and then I'm selected by women.

Women aren't interested in your shiny sports car, unless they have some experience that tells them that men would lose their shit over it. But if you turn up to an event and 30 men lust over your automobile, it'll push you right up the hierarchy (you'll get extra respect which is male currency) and you can bet your ass they'll be interested.

[–]trpppp123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree. It's one of the reasons I always tell people they should to have a good social circle to get girls, and really, maintain a high status position in that circle. In my opinion, it's much more effective than cold approach and if you get to that point, you don't even have to actively chase women, they'll chase you.

[–]cobalt1728 -1 points0 points  (3 children)

What tricks do incels have tonuse their non existent self esteem to get laid??

[–]FixYourselfFirst 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Asking for a friend, right?

[–]cobalt1728 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Uh, im not an incel hahah

[–]purplefidgetmidget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mouth-breathe your way up to a female human and tell her her shoes are ugly she'll sleep with you -how most of reddit views TRP, helped in no small part by incels invading

[–]furcryingoutloud 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Everything I've read on the subject says that a quarranteen is a warning label with some restrictions applied to it so snowflakes don't continue to bother the admins. Of course, this could be a prelude to the eventual deletion. But I don't really think it will get deleted.

r/theredpill (292,612 subscribers) It is dedicated to shocking or highly offensive content. For information on positive masculinity, please see the resources available at Stony Brook University's Center for the Study of Men and Masculinities (https://www.stonybrook.edu/commcms/csmm/index.php).

Personally, I love this! I would embrace the quarantine and use it like an R rated movie label. Make it private! Like the Fight Club. LOL

The purpose of quarantining a community is to prevent its content from being accidentally viewed by those who do not knowingly wish to do so, or viewed without appropriate context. We’ve also learned that quarantining a community may have a positive effect on the behavior of its subscribers by publicly signaling that there is a problem. This both forces subscribers to reconsider their behavior and incentivizes moderators to make changes.

We can sit here and bemoan the rules and cry foul or we can embrace the bad and continue to provide the quality that keeps us coming back. At the end of the day, reddit belongs to investors and investors want to make money. If I owned reddit, I'm pretty sure I would also be catering to the side of cash. And would cry crocodile tears for anyone crying about it on my way to the bank.

"Dogs bark, the caravan continues"

The Red Pill doesn't need reddit. It stands on its own. Also, we have the trp.red site. Let's use them both.

Just my two cents, do not try this at home.

[–]dsharm17[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trp.red

[–]Moreofmore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where’s red pill located at now? Forums.red seems to be older stuff. Is there another place?

[–]fatal1tyltf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is also askTRP section on https://www.forums.red/i/AskTRP/ but as long as this sub stands we will be here

[–]Toxik6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely

[–]EL_Miore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's much better than the alternative BluePill, which is a hive mind and downvote extravaganza, and the PurplePill which are people caught in a tug. At least askTRP can provide value.

[–]TheBadGoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Golden years of TRP were awesome but the more subscribers it had the worse it got. I say its time for everyone to move on. There is only so much to analyze from women, every thing else is just fluff

[–]idobermanlover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no. Bye-bye reddit !!!

[–]BadBoyProgrammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like it when people try to tell me what to think or belief.

If/when TRP gets banned I assume this sub will become desolate. Not a lot of reasons to go to a 'hostile environment' to talk Red Pill. Hopefully work is put in to create a new platform special for us 'Pill Eaters'.
