Out of the mouth of babes.. (self.RedPillWomen)

submitted by norcaligirl

My schedule has been a bit nuts the last 2 weeks. Its not that I haven't been cooking, but the meals have been of the quicker variety than normal- same for the kids' lunches.

Anyhow- I took a bit of time off today and cooked up something more intensive - then made some protein bars as an new recipe.

Anyhow- I popped a bar and a left-over home made biscuit into the lunches for tomorrow. My youngest pipes up with- FINALLY- something home made again!

Just a little reminder that the extra little things go a long way.

Thank you!

I actually really like to cook. But I work/run an internet retail business and this is truly my busiest time.

While I haven't been ordering out or anything- but they have been missing their normal fare.

Sometimes I think it's just really helpful to get a reminder that putting in extra really does matter to them- husbands included- and can express your love in an unsaid way.

Girl, if you make an honest attempt at doing homemade food, then you can't do it poorly. But you can't fake it. Know that, everyone who is longing for mother's, a loving mother's food, can tell the different between half-assed-whatever-I-have-to-do-it-'cause-patriarchy-forces-me attempts and I-will-feed-these-boys-and-girls attempts.

I'm 24, and homemade food done by my mother beats fancy, schmancy restaurants every time. And we can afford the restaurants.

My good, childhood friend still talks about the time, when he ate my mother's meatballs, which he will forever remember, but I will not. That time hasn't even been stored or even registered in my memory. He got to eat homemade. His mother is passed away long ago, when he was very young, so he doesn't get homemade. I get to eat homemade whenever I get my mother to make it.

The best food is made by someone's mother. Always. Restaurants can't compete with homemade. There's something primal of having a loving woman doing it for the pack.
