This is where I imagine this going:-

The year is 2032, John walks timidly down the street, careful to avert his gaze from any females. He knows that should he give any woman a look that isn't consensual he faces losing his job, possible arrest and imprisonment.

He remembers the 3 rules for being a better man.

  1. Never look unless looked at, avert your male gaze, for it is eye rape.
  2. Never speak unless spoken to, for any communication with a female that's unsolicited is harassment.
  3. Remember how privileged you are to work 12 hour days to fund single mothers health care and sexual exploration so young women can 'find themselves'.

All he wants to do is get to his weekly 'sensitivity training' class, but as he's crossing the road he makes a terrible mistake. He still isn't sure those self driving cars will stop for pedestrians and briefly glances at one, making eye contact with a woman drinking champagne in the back seat... ALERT ALERT, the privilege alarm goes off, a nearby anti-rape drone turns on a dime and darts to John's position.

"oh well" thinks John, he deserves this for being born a privileged white male who's ancestors, at one time or another may have oppressed women.

Reading some of the reasons for signing the petition gave me an actual headache. Bunch of un-educated bigots.

A few of my favourites -

I'd go a step further than this.

I'm a bit old for it all (and married) now, but I am not, nor have I ever been Mr. Universe. I think the best way to describe my body would be "Not enormously fat. Could do with losing a few pounds in belly fat, but would also need to put on muscle or I'll look like I'm made out of string".

You know what always, without fail, got attention? Looking different.

The thing I found was you go out clubbing, you're one of a thousand guys dressed up in some ill-advised smart casual look that if it works at all, does so by accident rather than design. Unless you have been triple-blessed with at least three of: good genetics, good dress sense, great confidence and the foresight to put some serious work in at the gym, you are going to have to work hard to get anywhere. You are, without question, one of the 80%. I freely admit I fell into this camp. (And yes, in this camp you are effectively either invisible or repulsive to women. When getting even a kiss, never mind laid on a night out becomes a 1 in 100 chance, you start to wonder what the hell is wrong with you because if everyone else has this level of difficulty it's a wonder the human race didn't die out centuries ago).

But make sure there's something radically different about you when you go out - a silly hat, a wig, on more than one occasion full-on fancy dress (you have to be part of a group to pull any of these off, mind) - and suddenly I wasn't the chump who was trying to find a happy medium between grinding against someone in the hope she'd grind back and pretending I was doing nothing of the sort so I didn't have to look like a complete prat when she moved away with a "what the hell are you doing?!" look on her face.

Suddenly I was the guy who had the sheer brass balls to walk into a club wearing full Phantom of the Opera regalia - complete with mask, cape, walking cane and scar make-up under the mask.

The effect was amazing. I went from "another frustrated loser" to "all the girls wanted to dance and flirt with me" like someone had flicked a switch. It's just a pity I was never really equipped to deal with this - I had great fun but I honestly had no idea how to take it further.

Seriously - if you've never done it, get a group of mates together and dress up for a night out so you stand out from everyone else.

What really needs to happen is removing the 'blurry line' between private enterprise and government entities.

If a business receives any funding or contracts from the government it should be subjected to the same rules the constitution lays out for the government. Don't want to be tied up by the constitution? Don't take government contracts.

This would force all major companies to abide by the constitution because you know damn well companies like Facebook, Twitter, Google, Microsoft, hell I'm willing to bet even Reddit all have contracts with the government if only to pump their data into some NSA database.

Was in France for tdy with the most clueless orbiters. We had one female in our detachment group. Every time she wanted to leave the bar early, they split. That's true. People are likely to let undesirable behavior pass if its coming from a group of people who they identify with. Some normal woman who calls herself a feminist isn't going to agree that all interaction between men and women is rape, but won't talk negatively about them because they're still feminists.

Perhaps a better way to put it would be that a sizeable amount of feminist activists are crazy, but most women who call themselves feminists don't really care much about it. Like how the large majority of Americans call themselves Christians, but only a minority (albeit a sizeable minority) actually try to live a Christian life as the church would describe it.
