What piece of RP advice most rocked your world for the better and has helped you the most?

My grandmother always tells me that divorce is just trading one set of problems for another. Sure, sometimes the trade is worth it, but I think too many people get caught up in a fantasy of what it will be like.

Never cut your hair short. I've been sorely tempted (toddler hands pulling!), but I think that would have been a slippery slope. It's hard enough to keep my pretty up with little ones.

Most of the rest, I figured out myself, from real life examples and books. Way waaaay before I found RPW online.

Could you provide more evidence to defend this? I know a bible verse but want to understand more reasoning of why you or others recommend this if there is any other than having the traditional feminine look

No evidence, just heard it so often from boys and men, and seen how disappointed they were when their love interests chopped their locks short. It's a sort of meme where I'm from, the short-spicy-dyed red hair of the woman who doesn't care about her husband anymore.

I get you 100%. It takes a very specific personality to be able to do that lol

I couldn't pull off short or red!

Mine is, "He always has your best interest at heart." This really revolutionized my marriage because it taught me to trust and be secure instead of letting that hamster run.

"Stop trying to find the right partner and learn to be the right partner."

Worked a treat for me.

"next!"

Vet carefully, and if it's not right be ready to end it long before marriage is on the table.

I have never realized this until recently, but my mom has always given me good advice. Now, having discovered RP for myself, I can see, understand, and appreciate her wisdom so much more.

If I have to pick the best one, it is probably that "no man is perfect and you just need to find the one with whose imperfections you can live."

Don’t argue with or contradict your husband.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
