At this point just a swing back to the center would be wonderful. As someone who leans center-right, I'm so sick of feeling like a "radical conservative" for holding what I always imagined as more centrist views. No shade on radical conservatives, but I mean statistically it's impossible that everyone is on either fringe of the political spectrum! I'd love a nice period of balance. I'm so over this SJW nonsense.

While it is an interesting trend, the number is still very low. Even though there are more Gen-Zers likely to be conservative, the truth is that youngsters are more likely to be liberal, slowly shifting conservative as they grow

This is a short and sweet article, with a small religious plug at the end that's easy to ignore.

Basically, the titles says it all! This is pretty optimism-inspiring IMO, and something I'm looking forward to seeing. I was recently considering in another thread (where Camille shared a clip from Bill Nye's awful show) - Being that generations tend to do 180s from one another, Millennials are spooky liberal...does this mean Gen Z-ers will be more conservative?

It makes sense to me, being that some of their first "real" memories (10 years of age or slightly older) would be right in the midst of the Great Recession. Also, the liberal pendulum is swinging so far left that even older moderates are hopping off the fence - It only makes sense it would also turn this new generation of critical thinkers off.

What are your thoughts? This article is by no means hard evidence, and here is a thread on the topic from /r/IsItBullshit (I just learned that's a thing lol).

I know my fingers will be crossed!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
