So, I've seen posts on here before where you ladies have talked about who you find to be a picture of femininity, celebrity or otherwise. While I usually agree with most I had never felt anyone fit it perfectly for me, until yesterday. I watched the movie 5 to 7 (it's on netflix or youtube). Has anyone seen it? The movie may have some sketchy moral lines that are crossed for some and some cultural differences but the lead character Arielle who is French actress Berenice Marlohe entranced me.

The minute she entered the scene she personified femininity in her manner. She exuded this kind of effortless feminine charm. Dressed in these very feminine clothes that worked so well with her figure. Even her speech was slower and softer and flowed almost like a song (I don't know if this was in part cause she has a French accent). The way she carried herself with impeccable posture and a beautiful walk. It was the first time in a long time of watching a movie with a feminine lead where I was like WOW, I had almost forgotten what a feminine character looked like. It made me wonder if it's a cultural difference because when I watch foreign movies most of the female characters exude this effortless feminine energy and beauty. Is it just American born women that have lost this natural presence within them?

Either way it kind of renewed inspiration in me to channel that since I think it's within all of us but a lot of us let it go dormant or altogether die.

Thanks for sharing. The movie looks really interesting. I'll have to add it to my Netflix watch list :)

What movie is it? My formatting is weird so I can't see the first section in the post.

Adding this to my watch list. I'm never opposed to seeing a POV from a side I'm not on. Never, ever, ever.

I know where I stand. Thanks for the recommendation! Will report back with thoughts!!

(I'm mostly commenting so I can find this again after watching)

haha yes please let me know what you think! The movie was pretty good (by no means mind-blowing) . It kinda addresses the French expression of "Cinq à sept" when it comes to relationships and how some approach marriage in a more open way, so the movie doesn't show relationships in a traditional sense. However, I just found her character's elegant and feminine way of carrying herself interesting.

Have you lived abroad before? The women outside the US act very differently. There's none of this aggressive tone of voice and no fighting to get a say in the conversation.

I just looked up the actress and she's incredibly beautiful in a sensual way.

Not true! I live in Europe and it's just not the case. I know plenty of aggressive women, unfortunately.

Yea I think there is an exception to every rule, and I think many parts of Europe (bigger cities especially) are following a more progressive and liberalized trend. The feminist movement has also become bigger there. However, I've noticed in the smaller cities or more rural areas women maintain the old ways but I guess that could be applied here too.

Where in Europe do you live? It's a big continent ;)

I'm not talking just about Europe though - women in Asia, Africa, Arabia are less aggressive generally speaking.

I've visited Europe in general and my parents are both immigrants and my mom (from Europe) always had a sense of femininity in the way she dressed and took care of herself. I always remember her being appalled when she went to grocery stores and saw women that looked like they rolled out of bed and were still wearing their pajama bottoms.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
