This woman is another brilliant example that in a supportive/behind-the-scenes role, women can excel and truly push a man to success. As they say, "behind every successful man, there is a woman".

It's pretty sad that feminists can't recognize this kind of role as being worthy. They have this "all-or-nothing" attitude (women must be president/CEOs/big bosses in order to achieve something) that completely undermines the supportive role of women.

And yet most feminists will ignore her because

A: she's a woman actually succeeding and not blowing her own trumpet or giving lip service to feminism, and

B: she did her work for someone they dislike.

I don't see what's wrong with the term supportive in this context. Supportive doesn't mean non prestigious, or non demanding. What she did in her role as manager was for someone else. She was advancing Donald Trump's position and working very hard so that he could succeed. Her role does not exist without a presidential candidate, she only had the job because of him and her responsibilities centered on him as well. I feel like you're proving the point /u/jade_cat was making, "supportive" isn't a bad word nor is it diminishing all of her accomplishments. Helping someone, especially a man, is not a bad thing!

Thank you so much /u/Camille11325. You expressed what I had in mind much more eloquently than I could. I'm also glad to see that supportive was good in this context. I thought I had the wrong definition all along!

And then /u/jade_cat saw what I wrote and agreed with me, not sure if you saw that. I don't think that this woman supported Donald Trump in an RPW way, she just supported him in her role, which is great. A lot of times feminists push for women to be the #1 - the CEO, the manager, the top lawyer, etc. and it has to be in specific fields as well. It isn't diminishing her role to note that it exists purely to support and advance the position of another person. There are a lot of parallels and analogies that we could make to connect what she did with RPW but that doesn't meant that anyone here thinks that she had an RPW relationship with Donald Trump...they weren't romantically involved so it's just not possible. Does what I'm saying make sense? Both Slavis and Jadecat made great points - this woman wasn't on the right side and she also wasn't as big as "first female presidential candidate". The same thing would happen if it was a female campaign manager for a lesser office, campaign manager is a big deal and calling it "supportive" doesn't change that at all.

jade_cat thought her use of the word was wrong because you implied it was, it was only misconstrued by you when you said "There is nothing "supportive" about it". It is by definition a supportive role.

Most men would kill for the chance to run a presidential general election.

jade_cat was was rightly saying that for FEMINISTS it's about all or nothing in women's position, they want President not Secretary, they want Captain and not First Mate. Her point was pretty clear but you replied like it was about another thing entirely (implying jade_cat herself was using 'supportive' in a dismissive way, while it's really a neutral descriptor as Camille pointed out)

this is actually a pretty huge accomplishment because she isn't on their side

Other than that yeah, I totally agree with this, and aside from ideology they also move the goalpost with requirements. When a team is 100% made of women they'll whine that it's not diverse enough, and they won't stop until everyone represented is a black-asian muslim transgender lesbian child with a disabilty

I don't think you understand quite how demanding the campaign manager role is. There is nothing "supportive" about it

"Supportive" was probably not the best word to describe it. Non-native English speaker here, sorry. Apparently "supportive" was the appropriate word. Thank you /u/Camille11325!

I didn't mean that her job was a walk in the park, nor that she had a passive role. I meant that she was not the one with the spotlight on her. She was definitely working hard, but she was working in the background, not in front of the camera. She was pulling the strings from behind the curtain.

This woman is pretty amazing. I'm from the UK so I know hardly anything about your election apart from what the news showed but I even noticed how public perception of Trump changed when she was given the job, gone were the reckless comments on certain minorities and stupid promises, trump started to take some responsibility for his rhetoric and actually the way she handled the whole video that surfaced with his distasteful comments about women was admirable it was the perfect mixture of 'sorry not sorry' that to me secured the alpha vote that this guy can say this and still not have to grovel, he'll be a good leader! (I'm not so sure but I'm sure if I thought it as a joke but others might take that thought more seriously!)

I saw her yesterday addressing the global press in the street which she handled pretty well even the tough questions some I'm sure somebody else would've just answered with 'that's something we'll discuss at a later date' such type of answer but she tried to answer every question they had as best of possible for example there was one from a South African reporter that was asking quite hard questions like how will it affect the S.A people looking to work or do trade with the U.S she answered it quite well whereas I think somebody else could've easily be flustered and looked like a deer in headlights having a question thrown at them like that but you could tell this was extremely put together woman that knows her shit! I want her president!

Thank you for posting! Kellyanne did a fantastic job, she deserves a lot of praise for her fantastic support of our new president.

You could even say she's a Trump card for the left's argument that we hate women. :)

Well then there is Barbra... https://imgur.com/PK6YiDr ... first woman to be I'm charge of the construction of a NY skyrise. Aka Trump Tower. She has openly said she was picked by Trump.

So yeah, Trump hates all women.

Jeez, we are so oppressed. /s
