I used to be a baker while I was still in school, but since graduating and getting a big girl corporate job, I haven't had time to bake as much as I used to :( which is why I'm SO excited that I literally just put a focaccia made with sprouted wheat into the oven!

I just finished this project this weekend!!! I'm taking it to my sister's next weekend as a gift :) Also making one for myself. I was going to make it last year but I got very anxious about every step because I'm still new to sewing/quilting. Also, I get bored sitting behind a sewing matching not talking to anyone lol.

Oh, I've been wanting to take up quilting! Is it an expensive hobby? I've heard mixed things, but I already own a sewing machine.

The tools are not expensive but the material is. If you want to start I would google Missouri Quilt and get one of their precut quilt packs. When you are more comfortable then you can start cutting your own fabric.

I really love lettering and typography! I tend to write out any song lyrics thay catch my ears, and since my pens and sketch book are small, they can go anywhere with me. I don't know how to link to mobile, but if you flip through my profile, I submit to Lettering quite a bit!

We moved in this weekend, so now I have to room to break out my sewing machine and my fancy-smancy cooking gear :)

:O I need to get my Halloween game back on. A friend wants to throw this elaborate party and I'm thinking some Japanese Oni would make nice and creepy decoration for this year's theme.

I didn't make anything recently sadly. However, I intend to "beautify" the yogurt plastic containers that I reuse to store things. I bought a bottle of acetone, and I intend to erase everything on them, in order to have a blank container. Then, I will draw cute/relevant stuff with the bazillion Sharpies I have. (A pack like this offers many interesting possibilities!)

I’ve recently gotten back into knitting, and I’ll be experimenting with making fudge soon (I love making baked treats and candy). As for knitting, I’m currently working on a winter set (gloves, hat, scarf) for my mother’s birthday in October!

Dang, I haven't been doing much with my hobbies because there's always so much going on during summer here! I have kept up making kombucha and kvass, and I did take a nice butt portion ham apart (tons of ham lunch meat for $11!) last week.

I take the ham and carve off the outside down to pink meat, find the largest parts between the different sections, and thinly slice those parts with a large, sharp knife. Once I get all of the easy sandwich meat off of the outside, and it gets more difficult to slice, I cut chunks out of what I can, without getting any of the connective fat, and use that meat for other things.

Then I put the rest of it in a crockpot, almost cover with water, and give it a good dollop of vinegar. Put on low for about 4-6 hours. Remove, cool, and separate meat. The bone, meat, and broth work well to flavor a nice pot of beans :)

I've just recently started to get into drinking kombucha. Do you flavor it in any way, like with lemon or ginger?

I haven't tried flavoring it yet; we take it more like a shot - 3 ounces twice a day. Do you make your own? It's super easy!

Ah no I don't. I got into it because I really missed sour dairy products like kefir (I recently became lactose intolerant), so I found that if I mix lemon kombucha with plain non-dairy yogurt, it makes something similar to fresh kefir (not the store-bought kind but if you make it yourself it's effervescent).

Is taking care of it time-consuming?

We've been making kombucha too! We did out first flavor, lemon and ginger, as a secondary, bottled ferment, but unfortunately we didn't get much carbonation. I still enjoyed them, but I need to do some tinkering still.

So I just came back from Greece and as I often do I made a local dish that I really liked out there called moussaka. Took me like two and a half hours to make. But it was so effed delicious. Even the kids ate it.

I'm 37% fluent in French now and am working on this in piano. I'll have it done by tomorrow.

Funny story. before I left for vacation I recorded a song for my SO. It was one I'd been having a struggle with but wanted to get it right before I left. So I worked for two hours on it before my flight. I finally recorded it so I could leave it for my SO to hear while I guy is so sweet. When I get back and start playing again he asks me "how did you learn to play Chopin?" Insert 'wut' face. He was like "yeah that song you left me was Chopin". Insert :| face. He hit the DEMO button on the piano!!!!!!!!! I was like how the hell am I gonna go from this to this. OMG. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life.
