It's funny but in a way, she makes a good point...Women didn't just start working because they felt like it. In many ways, women were pushed into the workforce because of huge economic pressures: the second world War decimating the male workforce, for example, or men's wages falling so that a second income was needed to support a family.

I know that's not the point of this post...but I think about this sometimes. In a lot of ways having women in ths workforce works hand in hand with the interests of our larger economy, even though it works against the interests of families...
