Excellent article thank you for sharing! It's astounding how many feminist lies are just accepted and repeated, even by smart people who are usually critical thinkers.

Most of this is very true and spot on for shooting down false claims. Except point #2. While the stated estimate of 100,000-300,000 might be exaggerated, the rebuttal does not reflect the actual numbers at all and down plays the situation entirely.

I don't think you read very carefully.

The rebuttal quotes the study authors as saying that the actual number of victims pressed into sexual slavery probably numbers in the hundreds - that's orders of magnitude less than 100,000. The last sentence of #2 also acknowledges the seriousness of the issue.

I just re read it again. What I am getting from it is that the myth is the 100,000-300,000 figure ( which is exaggerated) and that the "true number" is only in the hundreds. I am saying that while 300,000 might be exaggerated, a number in the hundreds is a very LOW estimation.

a number in the hundreds is a very LOW estimation.

I have a hard time imagining that thousands of women are pressed into sexual slavery each year in the United States.

The only way I can see this being accurate is if we expand "sexual slavery" to include every prostitute.

Well that's why I think both ends of the spectrum are heavily skewed.. Because where do you draw the line of when to include someone in the statistic?

For example I live in Canada and I could Name easily 25-30 prostitutes who are under aged and while not "abducted" have been forced into sex trade. And that's just people I personally have encountered in 1 city in Canada. Given that the US has 10x the population I can only assume the numbers would correlate. And I am just one person in one city ... If there was a way to accurately count the number in my city the number would be much higher.

But like I said, it all depends on where you want to draw the line into "forced".

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
