Backstory: I run a midwifery practice with a colleague of mine. It's been many moons in the making, but I've recently finally been able to pass the reigns over to my business partner while I step away to focus my time and energy on my marriage, our son, and our home. I'll still be going in about three days a week to take prenatal appointments, but no more on-call!! I'm so so excited be able to spend more time with my family.

**If these kinds of posts aren't allowed, please let me know and I will delete. I just wanted to share my excitement with you ladies. I just know that you'll get it!

Congratulations!!! We love posts like this, it is always awesome to hear that women are making improvements in their relationships and choosing the life they want to lead. Choosing between your own desires and what your family wants for you isn't easy, so glad everything is working out and I wish you the best of luck :)

Congrats. Do you plan on returning to your practice in the future or just stay home? How are you going to celebrate? Are you going to time sah? Or just able to spend more time? Sounds like you are fulfilling a dream. That is always so exciting to hear!!!

I'll probably take a more active role when my son is much older. As it stands currently, I'm able to spend much much more time with my family. I'm not attending client births anymore, and will only be doing so in an emergency capacity (like if the on-call midwife is sick, and there isn't anyone else to back her up, which is actually a lot more rare than you'd think it is) I'm still going to be working with pregnant mothers, but just doing prenatals a few hours a day for a couple of days per week. So it isn't really full-time SAHM status, but it's a huge start!

That's awesome! I love midwifery and have only ever had homebirths. I admire you women so much but I've often thought about the sacrifice you make in your personal lives to be so amazing. I'm really happy you will get more time with your family, that is so great!

You have no idea how much we midwives love and appreciate comments like this. Women like you are the reason why we do what we do. Thank you so very much! ❤️

Congratulations! I gotta ask though: were you your own midwife when you gave birth? ;)

Thank you! It's been a long, exciting, wonderful journey but I'm certainly glad the chaos is finally over and I can take a more active role in the home.
