One of the biggest things that irks me about modern feminism is how a 3rd party can be SO offended by a joke between others. Shatner made a joke with a co-worker. Was the co-worker offended? No. Then move along.

No-one needs to rush to my defense if my husband, friend, brother in law, male in my life has a "sexist" joke with me. I'm good, thanks.

Yes!

Some of Occam's friends have actually started to protest 'on my behalf' after he's made a joke. My laughter and the subsequent hug/kiss I give to Occam generally stops them in their tracks. Fortunately this kind of behavior (among friends and acquaintances) mostly dies down over time.

If something offends me, I will handle it as I see fit. I don't need anyone (particularly strangers) thinking that they know what's 'best' for me.

I like that he didn't just take the bait (pun intended). I think a lot of these websites want to provoke reactions that would make people seem like they are crazy when in fact most people don't know much about conflict resolution. Shatner, however, nailed it! Now if you don't mind, I must return to the fridge before I start to thaw.

So where do you keep all the dead bodies?

The freezer.

Brilliant. I love this man.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
