I've sort of noticed that sons of mothers like this either grow up to be extremely disrespectful of women and disrespect their mothers in the same way, or they are extremely effeminate and have absolutely no spine. Such a disservice to raise boys like this...

Agreed 100%! Can we also apply this to words like "bitch", "bossy" and any other term that is now worn with pride? Pretty soon the only real insult we'll have left for women is "cunt" - I can't imagine that one making it into our everyday vocab - and it does not apply to every situation. These words mean something and serve a useful purpose in our culture.
