I enjoy being a helper.

I find a sense of purpose in supporting my husband’s goals.

I take pride in being his support system.

Sometimes, these are a wife's goals. These are the things that she wishes to accomplish in her life. And it goes to the larger picture of his goals, her goals and biggest yet, the families goals.

Lots of people don't like the fact that these might be some women's goals. It doesn't make these goals wrong or less, because they are her own.

Great post.

100% agree! When these are a woman's only goals people label her as "no goals"

Before I learned to STFU, my husband and I had some arguments ourselves in the home depot. I feel so ashamed now when I think of how much of a shrew I must have seemed and how embarrassed he must have felt.

I pouted in the car one time on the way to Home Depot to the point where he told me to either put a smile on or wait in the car. I refused to wait in the car but he made his point clear.

What is it about Home Depot that brings out the worst in some of us wives? I have to admit that when we picked out some wood flooring I let him choose the color and I was convinced that it would look terrible, but I kept my mouth shut. Turns out he made the perfect choice.

That's funny, I love Home Depot! But I love building stuff and have a lot of fond nostalgic memories of exploring Home Depot with my dad.

I enjoy being a helper. And I find a sense of purpose in supporting my husband’s goals.

I’m not ignoring my goals, I have those too – but I take pride in being his support system. Being a strong women is partially having the ability to have your own goals and support someone else’s goals.

The whole article was excellent, but this part resonated a lot with me. In addition to taking care of the household duties, I really enjoy taking care of all the side-tasks and logistics that would burden my husband and take time away from achieving his goals.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
