In the spirit of this post and this one I give you another RPW 101 idea presented with humor. Humor works because it makes you laugh, but it can also slap you upside the head at the same time.

It's Not About the Nail

Or, how men and women approach communication and problem solving completely differently.

This is by far, one of my favorites.

One of my all time favorite commercials.

Thanks for sharing!

A good number of times I've linked this to female friends when they started doing that. Many stopped coming to me with these complaints, but a portion acknowledged what they were doing, and turned out to be great friends who can call each other out on stuff and still get along. These are the ones I hang out with.

LOL I love that you've done this. I know for fact that I've been the girl in the video before, and then I've also been on the other side trying to offer a logical explanation when all my friend wants to do is vent and express how she's feeling and doesn't want me to help fix/change how she feels XD It can definitely be frustrating, although I guess it's helpful to be understanding and empathetic --- I'll share this clip next time and see what happens :p

It really is true that there are times when women and men look at a situation from completely different vantage points. I learned this hard truth when I was a young and student teaching in a high school. I was helping a student when a boy two seats in front of us asked another boy “What do you think of the new teacher?” There was no doubt that I was the new teacher. My cooperating teacher (who was a man) looked up from his desk because he too overheard the question. “I’d like to cream all over her face,” the boy replied. I wanted to die right then and there. I ran from the room and burst into tears. My cooperating teacher followed me into the hall. “He didn’t realize you were behind him,” he told me. “I don’t care!” I snapped back, now furious that I had been humiliated. “That is so disrespectful! He should be written up for that!” The cooperating teacher said “I don’t think that is the way to handle this. He didn’t mean any harm.” Incredulous, I shook my head, and stared at him for a minute. “I just don’t understand what I did that made him hate me enough to cream all over my face,” I finally said. After he stared back at me, now incredulous himself, he explained to me that the boys comment was a compliment and that he found me sexually appealing. I wanted to die once again for being so dense, but at least I was no longer humiliated. I will say that after that incident those two boys treated with me with the greatest respect. I will credit that to the cooperating teacher who most likely explained my vantage point to them.

Oh my gosh I just died imagining that. "What did I do to make them want to cream on my face???" -- sorry it happened but I definitely chuckled haha.

Haha that's funny. Are most women like that? I guess they'd have to be for a video to be made about it. I've never been the "I don't want you to fix it" type. I'm so introverted that odds are, if I have a problem, I internalize it and try to figure it out on my own and then if I can't, I go to him when I want a solution and not just for him to "listen". Though listening is always nice, of course :)

I've been so excited to show this to hubby all day! Just did and he's cracking up "Sounds just like ya babe!" Oh, gosh!!! I have more work to do. LOL.

Haha, this is why I don't vent to my SO unless I'm looking for a solution!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
