Two types of people, idealists and materialists. Idealists are the ones who are religious, believe looks don't matter, believe in Pua and self help, etc. Materialists are the ones who are atheists, believe in looks theory, halo effect, Marxism, science, logic.

hmm have you ever had a situation where those beliefs manifested in a conflict of sorts? im thinking about ways in which underlying worldviews manifest themselves in very practical conflict that on the surface, dont seem to touch on the fundemental realities that each person has

This is a tough topic with some writing on r/erisology, but there's only really one write-up that can help you navigate these conflicts. This assumes that you're already steelmanning you're interlocutor's argument, generally assuming internal coherence and asking questions until you understand how it works.
Its pretty much 100% certain that you're going to have to be more argumentatively charitable than other people are even capable of being, which can get annoying.
