Are you more likely to fail a suicide attempt if you use a crappy/cheap gun rather than a pricey one?

Lethality of suicide by gun is mostly given by caliber and how it was aimed (and how many shots fired, but most people dont manage to fire a second shot despite surviving).
Handguns are usually pretty bad, as in, they have a high survival chance with terrible consequences.
Large caliber shotguns have a high lethality but they are too big and long to aim properly so some people aim it upwards from under their chin and end up surviving in horrifying conditions too.

Heights are far more effective for both an instantaneous and guaranteed death. I think it's only like 30 meters up to reach a fatal velocity.

True, but if we placed bets on whether or not people would die, falling head first from 30+ metres onto solid concrete. I'd win well over 99.9% of the time.

The problem is the falling on your head part. You qould want to fall at a height where angle doesn't matter much

The head first thing was more for imagery. If you could land on ur head all the time. The fatality rate would be 100% without question (even for much lower heights).

30 meters is lethal virtually 100% of the time regardless. With the exceptions being freak occurrences.

I heard once that if you shoot yourself in the head you will be still alive for like 30 seconds

But I don't know a better method

Do not kill yourself , we all die in the end , might as well make the best of it as we all go that way soon enough , might aswell well play to the end of the game .

Its more about if you try it with or without a gun. The shotgun is the most effective and the pistol the least, rifle lands in the middle. The failed suicide rate is from people not using firearms mostly
