Whenever I talk about losing weight with my friends IRL, they always insist I'm fine the way I am and that I don't need to lose any, but from a RPW perspective, I know it's absolutely the greatest issue keeping me from finding a high-value man. Men see me as fun--a guy I recently went out with laughed at all my jokes and said I was his "most fun first date ever," but then after a second date said he wasn't interested in more than friendship.

Time and again, I get the same message, "You're super fun, I don't see you as more than a friend." And I know the reason is my weight. If I was thin and beautiful, I would be a catch.

I've gained weight in the past 1-1.5 months, from 140 pounds at 5'3" to 154.4 (granted that second weigh in is from literally stepping over to the scale right now, with clothes on, and slightly bloated from both food and post-surgery recovery). I first want to get back down to 140, then eventually land somewhere between 110 and 120.

Would anyone like to join this journey with me? We could talk regularly, do weigh-ins together, share tips on how we eat and workout, stuff like that. Or, if someone isn't on that journey, but feels like simply being a guiding hand to someone who is going through it, would you like to be a guiding voice?

I've tried doing this alone before. I've even tried the weight-loss specific subs, but I want to have a buddy who can be brutally, RP-level honest with me about the fact that if I do not succeed, I will have a much, much harder time finding a man to make me happy, simply because I won't be thin enough for him to want to look into my other features. I'm relatively young (23), but my prime will soon run out.

I will! I am on a similar journey for those last few pounds!

Just a side note- I know keto is all the rage but I would advise against it. I did lots of low carb dieting to stay thin during my teen and college age years... and my gallbladder started giving me intense pains at only 26 years old. It took a year to get referred to a surgeon because at the time no doctors thought it could possibly be my gallbladder because I was young and healthy. My surgeon told me keto and other high fat diets are what keeps him busy and that he is increasingly seeing young people with horrible gall stones. It can literally kill you. Sorry to get serious but I wish I hadn’t done those diets- I was a healthy BMI and a cute figure but I see now all the damage I did to my body and I really don’t want that to happen to any of you. 😘

Keto made my husband sooooo ill, it's really hard to get the electrolyte balance right!

I’d love to join you! I’ve lost 50 lbs already and want to lose around another 25, we’ll see how I look when I get there and then I can re-evaluate.

Wow, you've come so far, that's awesome! Please go ahead and DM me your details (like you current weight, goal weight, what you like to eat, if there's a diet you're following, what you do to work out, etc), and then we can go from there! Also, are you interested in joining a group chat for people who have reached out? Totally okay if not, but just let me know in your DM!

I’m super into fitness and nutrition, so I’d love to join! I’m not a dietician or personal trainer, but I lost about 50lbs 7 years ago, and I’ve kept it off, so I can always share what I’ve learned and what has worked for me!

I would love to join in! I am on the same journey and have been for a while so I have a few recommendations.

I highly recommend Strong Curves by Bret Contreras. It’s by far the best workout program I’ve ever used in my life, and I’ve tried and failed MANY. You can order the book on amazon. It can be done in the gym ideally but I’m seeing results from doing it at home. From a RPW perspective, it is extremely feminine- the writer is literally the worlds foremost expert on training the glutes! My butt has been toning and growing in the right ways, while I’ve lost an inch off my love handles/ waist. If you follow Bret on instagram he trains a gym full of women who look like fit models but are still feminine and curvy.

Second recommendation is IIFYM (macro dieting). I can post a link to the free calculator I use to calculate my macros. The freedom of flexible dieting and not having to do keto or really low calorie is everything with my lifestyle and the first thing I’ve ever done that I’ve found sustainable.

Check out https://dysfunctionalparrot.com he has excellent and funny reviews of in home workout programs. Unlike most reviews that are basically product adds, he remains independent of vendor.

Hi! Is there a group chat for this shared effort? I'd love to join! Would a weekly post make sense?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
