”This is horrendous and a pitch-perfect example of how these systems, globally, enable male dominance,” Soraya Chemaly, author of Rage Becomes Her, tweeted on Tuesday about the alleged project. “

I didn’t know that, that’s so cool. I didn’t even try.

[–]TRP VanguardHumanSockPuppet 302 points303 points  (5 children)

You've gotta read between the lines to understand how this "gives men power":

Men are more susceptible to manipulation by a woman they believe to be virtuous.

This software will make me appear less virtuous.

This software shifts sexual market power away from women and towards men. Therefore it is sexist and an expression of male hegemony.

All of TRP's basic tenets are confirmed in this woman's response.

[–]TheEgyptianConqueror 38 points39 points  (3 children)

I mean, it makes you appear less virtuous because you are less virtuous......

You made your bed, now lie in it

[–]WetLikeMyJumperTho 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Imagine having to deal with the consequences of your actions, oh no that’s definitely a no can do

[–]kakattekoiyo 301 points302 points  (1 child)

yes males are so dominant they are shelling out their hard earned cash to women who spend all day flicking their bean on the sofa.

[–]666Evo 41 points42 points  (0 children)

"This is horrendous and a pitch-perfect example of how feminists gas-light the entire Western world"

[–]Mildly_Sociopathic 75 points76 points  (3 children)

Soraya Chemaly, the same woman who wrote for Time that women's bathroom queues being longer then men's was sexist.

[–]Field_Of_View 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I recently went to an event that had two bathrooms for women and one for men - women still had to wait longer.

[–]playofthegods 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I got a good laugh out of this.

[–][deleted] 41 points42 points  (3 children)

I don’t see why every media outlet is making sure people know this guy was Chinese.

[–]justblaze42069 47 points48 points  (2 children)

It's more okay to be racist to Asian people than anyone else in our culture for some reason. You can get away with a lot of shit that even the most PC people won't call you out for.

[–]ArcticFox2014 16 points17 points  (1 child)

well next to white men i guess ....

[–]awkwardtouching 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're crushing it, you're a target.

[–]TheStumblingWolf 77 points78 points  (3 children)

It's true though. The fact that these male dominators are also dominating most other males is irrelevant apparently.

I believe it's a combination of the apex fallacy and solipsism.

[–]PaulHarden 22 points23 points  (1 child)

Those are the only men that even register as men.

[–]EggonTurdaryen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's ironic how they complain about the men on top of the social scale but then those are the only men they pay any attention to. Because those are the only ones that they want.

[–]novalentineforyou 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's because men who are unattractive or at the bottom of the SMV are literally ignored by women.

[–]BlindingTwilight 1 points1 points [recovered]

She also went on to say “blah blah misogyny blah blah”. Stunning new insights from the amazing minds of gender studies graduates.

[–]TheEgyptianConqueror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 years and $200K later, she still has the mind of a fucking tortoise

[–]lukesterboi1 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Fail to see what "system" was really used in the male's favor here other than the one which enables females to make a living from doing nothing but orgasming in front of a webcam all day tbh

[–]Aggressive_Beta 18 points19 points  (0 children)

“Technology is the patriarchy!”

Feminists are so delusional

[–]drallcom3 1 points1 points [recovered]

What would she have said if a woman would have build that tech?

[–]greenlittleman 61 points62 points  (6 children)

I personally never seen any news about woman doing something extraordinary tech-wise.

[–]5Imperator_Red 18 points19 points  (2 children)

Theranos was pretty extraordinary...

[–]DickMystery 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's what she said, they are "left behind" in these kind of developments. But when you take a look at technical courses, it is >95% male dominated. So who's leaving who behind...

[–]novalentineforyou 4 points5 points  (1 child)

QubesOS was pretty fucking cool and made by a woman iirc.

[–]perfectedinterests 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Not a damn thing.

2) More likely though, that this technology "is empowering Women to be more transparent and open about who they are"

3) Or if she didn't like it still, "That this sister is betraying the Sisterhood and is brainwashed and supporting the Patriarchy" ..

Same shit, diff decade.

[–]randomthoughts1050 1 points1 points [recovered]

Why would a woman build tech that would identify her in home made porn?

Many many women have made home made porn. Maybe not with you, but 100% they have done it with at least 1 former partner.

Also, getting paid to do porn is always an option, be it worst case scenario or mama needs that gorgeous new pair of shoes.

[–]uncle-boris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He obviously meant if a woman built tech to identify the male version of sex workers and pornstars, you big goof...

[–]WaspOnAWall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lol I looked up that book of her and she's litterally telling feminists to be angry : (from amazon description)

"this is a bracingly liberating call for the right of women to own their anger and use it"

You just can't make this shit up.

[–]InfiniteInches 1 points1 points [recovered]

This article is click bait bullshit. 1) it’s vice. 2) if the billion dollar company amazon can’t do it very accurately some 1-man shop in China can’t.

[–]5Imperator_Red 38 points39 points  (1 child)

Probably true, but the red pill takeaway is the women’s reaction. They are acting as if appearing anonymously in online internet porn is a god given right and any infringement on this is patriarchy/oppression/Hitler 2.0

Crazy train has no breaks. Repeal the 19th or suffer the consequences.

[–]perfectedinterests 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"May the Lord Open"

"Under His Eye."

[–]playofthegods 5 points6 points  (1 child)

amazon can do it accurately

[–]FfdzcA1mzkHqxEx2AM6g 255 points256 points  (54 children)

Just wait until something like this happens with SeekingArrangement or similar.

Think of all those “quality women” being outed as part-time hookers.

I suspect we’ll see a lot of growth in this type of “vetting” service.

[–]TRP VanguardHumanSockPuppet 154 points155 points  (17 children)

For those who don't know, there's a human-based project called Tag The Sponsor, which uncovers Instagram "models" who engage in prostitution for gifts and paid trips. Check 'em out, they're hilarious and a serious eye-opener for the uninitiated Red Piller.

[–]drallcom3 1 points1 points [recovered]

It makes you realize how all those Instagram celebrities make a living. In case you didn't already know. It has basically replaced Craigslist.

[–]TRP VanguardHumanSockPuppet 75 points76 points  (7 children)

It's mostly whores selling their bodies, and jacked dudes getting sponsored by snake oil supplement companies.

Instagram hasn't really changed the human pursuit of profit. It has merely enabled hucksters to reach a broader audience.

Luckily, the internet also provides a balancing force. It allows groups like TRP to reach that same broad audience and shed light on the lies and bullshit.

[–]drallcom3 1 points1 points [recovered]

There's no balancing force. TRP and alike is a tiny fraction of the internet and gets banned from having contact with the general population. It's not good for profits.

Not to mention the fact that "everyone being red pill" doesn't work.

[–]TRP VanguardHumanSockPuppet 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Don't be autistic.

People are more receptive to comforting lies than cold facts. You know this.

There is no global scale. Each man has his own scale to manage. Lies on one side, truth on the other. His success in life depends on tipping those scales correctly.

[–]lukkassu 4 points5 points  (3 children)

'Everyone being red pill doesn't work'

Can you explain this claim? Why do you feel a Red Pill Society (in stark contrast to the modern Blue Pill Societied) can't work?

It could even be argued most societies were red pill if you go back far enough in time.

[–]drallcom3 1 points1 points [recovered]

Some males would fall back to beta behavior to aquire a female. Do you think each male would get exactly one female? No. I'm pretty sure we'd get the 20/80 split we see so often with sexual behavior. Females would still gravitate (as proven by studies) to only the top 20%, no matter what. The bottom 80% can either be incels or try being betas. Which they would. Because that's how nature has always worked. They would build their bluepill dreamworld around it, and crafty alphas would support and exploit that.

[–]VinterBot 2 points3 points  (1 child)

You're describing right now.

[–]BurnoutRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and some will be drawn even nearer to that which is forbidden them

[–]justblaze42069 11 points12 points  (1 child)

And even if they're not literally fucking dudes for cash, their whole business model revolves around them being attractive and being willing to flaunt it.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to Instagram girls and streamers and shit once their bodies start falling apart and no one wants to look at them anymore and they realize they're 35 with zero marketable skills.

[–]900_year_old_vampire 17 points18 points  (0 children)

"basically" prostitution? i clicked 1 random page and its straight up 'what price for which sexual acts' negotiation. hilarious

[–]russian_nigger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh yeah that's been around for a while. great site

[–]Bazino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is hilarious!

Also it supports the argument that women will accept any offer from the right guy at the right time.

[–]1Your_Coke_Dealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TagTheSponsor is always amusing to see posted here; it’s some of the good shit that helped me stumble into the red pill in the first place

[–]kaolin224 96 points97 points  (17 children)

Most people aren't that creative with their online persona. It was a trip Googling girls' usernames and see them pop up in the dating sites... but a few pages in they've also been on Seeking Arrangement before.

And when she's seen you as a fantastic catch, she'll lie through her teeth about everything shady in her past. Sexual history, drug use, abuse, mental issues, mistakes like taking cash for sexual favors.

I've had one that didn't admit she was a stripper until a month after we were banging. At least several had Seeking Arrangement profiles.

One was dumb enough to use her full legal name for "modeling" and porn work. And another had a fake, positive spin on everything I mentioned above that took a year to crack. As suspected, another used up, crazy party hoe trying to one-up.

I'm all for this tech. I'll even volunteer as a tester. You won't find dumb shit like that on me. It would save everyone a lot of time.

And it'd be nice to have the choice to get involved rather than being duped and now having to choose how to leave without getting financially ruined.

[–]FfdzcA1mzkHqxEx2AM6g 10 points11 points  (6 children)

How did you do this? I’m guessing Seeking Arrangement profiles are not crawled by Google?

I was imagining someone would make an account on there, then write some sort of bot that would crawl all the profiles. Technically it’s probably a challenge but certainly feasible. The next step would be to compare with publically available photos from Instagram, Twitter etc, which is presumably what the porn guy did. (Assuming he isn’t making it all up)

[–]kaolin224 42 points43 points  (5 children)

All I did was put in their username from the dating site where we met - like okcupid or plenty of fish - and her name, which she gave me when we started talking. Three pages in would be the same username attached to a Seeking Arrangement profile.

You click on it, and while most of the text is blocked, it's the same picture of her in a car doing the duck face or partying in Vegas. Or it's the same body in a green bikini with the face blurred out.

I don't use social media, but you have to realize girls, especially attractive ones, are inherently lazy. They'll use the same profile, almost word for word, picture for picture when they can.

"Hiiiiiiiiii... I'm Patricia, but you can call me Trixy! "

Then, if she's told you she lived in another city before and the ages match up, that's a pretty solid bet it's legit.

[–]FfdzcA1mzkHqxEx2AM6g 6 points7 points  (4 children)

This is crazy, I’m really surprised those profiles are indexed by Google.

[–]valenin 9 points10 points  (1 child)

It’s not a panopticon if you can’t look at everything.

Everyone remembers the original google motto of don’t be evil. Fewer people remember that google’s original mission was to index and catalogue all the information in the world.

[–]420KUSHBUSH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[–]_teh_overloard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

id be surprised if something wasnt

[–]justblaze42069 7 points8 points  (1 child)

I always google their known social medias when I start dating a girl, just to see what pops up. One girl had amateur porn on PH, another had two different sugar daddies she hadn't told me about lmao, one girl had a reddit account where she posted nudes. I didn't really care because I don't really commit to anyone anyway, but it was always interesting the shit they'd tell me not realizing I knew they were lying.

Most girls don't have anything unsavory out there in my experience, but it's REALLY cute when they have a SeekingArrangment account or something and don't want you to know about it.

Pro tip for the ladies: use different social media handles for the naughty stuff. If you use LITERALLY the same username as your instagram for everything, it's easy as FUCK to find all your shit.

[–]420KUSHBUSH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Most girls don't have anything unsavory out there in my experience"

Probably a lot of people in this comment section will disagree with you however you got it right. The thought that every or most girls have things like these is hogwash

[–][deleted] -4 points-3 points  (7 children)

At least several had Seeking Arrangement profiles.

I don't know how old you are, but I'd be stoked if a chick I was banging had a SA profile. Then again, I'm in my mid 40's.

[–]Radioactivebuny 13 points14 points  (5 children)

Glad you’re enjoying the decline. It’s only going to cost us everything.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (2 children)

You realize where you are, right? Fuck off with your moralizing.

[–]Radioactivebuny -3 points-2 points  (1 child)

Yeah I do. So much of this sub wouldn’t be stuff other than “get your dick wet pro strats part II” if you were correct though.

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So much of this sub wouldn’t be stuff other than “get your dick wet pro strats part II” if you were correct though.

THIS IS A SUB ABOUT MALE SEXUAL STRATEGY. We don't have enough of that content any more. Instead, we get all these fucking pearl clutchers.

[–]1Your_Coke_Dealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You and I didn’t hire the piper, but if we’re all gonna have to pay anyway, may as well take advantage of the service

[–]officerkondo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The quality of women on SA is no better than Plenty of Fish. Go browse for yourself if you don't believe me.

[–]styrg 22 points23 points  (7 children)

I happen to stumble on a reddit post where some guy discovers his girlfriend was on there and so I looked around a little bit and found the girl I was currently dating on seeking arrangement. I had to do it by hand but it's probably pretty easy to write something to just scrape the site for all photos and compare them to a database of IDs. Even easier if you just want to look for one person

[–]FfdzcA1mzkHqxEx2AM6g 12 points13 points  (6 children)

Curious how you did this, did you just make an account yourself and search for her?

How did you handle it after you found her? Did you confront her or run for the hills?

[–]styrg 14 points15 points  (5 children)

Yeah I just made an account, set the geographic area to her address with a small radius and scrolled through a few pages. Ended up confronting her about it. Wish I could say I broke it off or just relegated her to a FWB but I was pretty BP back then.

[–]maximun_vader 5 points6 points  (1 child)

I want to know how this story ended

[–]styrg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its not exciting. I dated her for a few months. We broke things off because she had an extremely demanding career and I got tired of her spending so much time on it that she had time for little else. Also she sucked at communication. The sex was pretty good at least.

[–]whuttupfoo 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Please make a tutorial on this. You will be recognized amongst scholars.

[–]styrg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have you actually looked at the site? Unless its changed drastically in 5 years it is extremely simple. You just set the area to the person in question and start scrolling.

[–]justblaze42069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's super super easy. Unless you're in a big city there aren't THAT many people on there, just set your girl's city, age, etc and it'll filter it well enough you'll know pretty quick if they're on there. It's not that popular though, I've been on there quite a bit, only seen one girl I was actually seeing and a handful of girls I knew.

[–]Endorsed Contributorredpillcad 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A massive redpill shoved up every betaproviders ass.

Before marrying (her settling) his princess , she got a train run through for shopping expeditions

[–]5Imperator_Red 11 points12 points  (3 children)

Ltr told me her cousin made a seeking arrangement profile a few years ago for a bit. I now refer to her as “the hooker” in conversation.

“Hanging out with my cousin today.”

“The hooker?”

“No the other one. And she’s not a hooker!”

“Whatever you say.”

[–]ethreax 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I thought the app is discontinued?

[–]5Imperator_Red 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have no idea. She said she did it a few years ago.

[–]justblaze42069 6 points7 points  (3 children)

I LOVE going to SeekingArrangement and seeing all the women I know on there. I've been shocked and awed at how many are on there selling their bodies, but it's okay because "technically it's not prostitution."

[–]russian_nigger[S] 3 points4 points  (2 children)

oh yeah, SA is ridiculous. i've seen many women from my past as well on it. they're all fucking whores lol. one chick i know i saw on bumble with a cute profile saying that she's "accomplished a lot" in her life and looking to settle down, blah blah. and if you don't know her you'd think she's an innocent girl. then you see her on SA and its like, damn hoe.

[–]1Your_Coke_Dealer 1 point2 points  (1 child)

TIL SeekingArrangement does not give a single fuck:

[–]russian_nigger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they're purposely trying to degrade society by brainwashing women

[–]theorymeltfool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wait until something like this happens with SeekingArrangement or similar.

I would think this would be a part of the project. Even now I go on SA to make sure I’m not dating a girl who’s trying to do that shit behind my back.

[–]The-Peter-Principle 75 points76 points  (6 children)

Lol at the shoe-horned in narrative. “Controlling women’s bodies” what?!

As an aside, use of this facial recognition surveillance tech is the next big societal game changer IMO, and not for the better for anyone. but it WILL be deployed (by the state) whether there are laws in place or not.

[–]TFWnoLTR 35 points36 points  (1 child)

"Controlling women's bodies by exposing what they do when given control over their own bodies."

[–]Standgrounding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sentence forced me to use ALL of my available IQ...

[–]Fyrjefe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is what I immediately thought about. The Chinese government itself has issues with pornography use. If they actually cared about wahmen they would be protesting the legal ramifications it would have on people when the ChiComs eventually pull the trigger on such a program. Not a peep about sensorship. Can't expect Western values from Vice though.

[–]justblaze42069 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's weird how facing consequences for your actions is "controlling" lmao. Look, it's OKAY to do porn. It's NOT okay to do porn and then pretend it never happened. If you tell a dude you never did porn and then he marries you and finds out later and it's a dealbreaker for him, YOU'RE AN ASSHOLE.

This just stops you from being an asshole in the first place.

[–]k3wlmeme 7 points8 points  (1 child)

it WILL be deployed (by the state) whether there are laws in place or not

You seem to think it hasn't already been deployed

[–]flyinghorse1 198 points199 points  (19 children)

I didn't know you could really do porn anonymously - if your face is all over the internet then somebody is bound to see it unless you have barely any views.

[–]garyvdm 163 points164 points  (4 children)

There is so much porn out there, the chances are low that someone you know will see it. I'm sure that people participating in amateur porn know that the chance exists, but are willing to take the risk, because the chances are low.

But being able to type someones real name in to a search box to check if they have been in any porn massively changes these chances, for better or worse.

I think it's fucking funny how some are reacting. "The lady doth protest too much, methinks."

[–]TRP VanguardHumanSockPuppet 71 points72 points  (2 children)

I think it's fucking funny how some are reacting. "The lady doth protest too much, methinks."

It's especially funny because the same people who say that this facial recognition software is an expression of male power are also the ones who say that porn is demeaning to women.

Which is it, ladies? Do you condemn porn or not? Do you want to safeguard women in porn or not?

Of course, we know the real answer is neither. Anything that makes women look like dumb sluts diminishes their power to manipulate and robs them of their power. Anything that does that is, by their definition, sexist.

[–]whats_the_deal22 49 points50 points  (1 child)

Porn network hiring models: Demeaning to women

Masturbating for strangers on private webcam: empowering

[–]TRP VanguardHumanSockPuppet 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with abstract principles. Only with the sex of the primary beneficiaries.

Women benefit? Empowerment.

Men benefit? Sexism.

[–]FfdzcA1mzkHqxEx2AM6g 44 points45 points  (4 children)

Yeah, I kinda assumed that nobody did porn with any expectation of anonymity.

Then again you have to wonder what happens to the ones who do a few videos then disappear.

How long before some feminist starts a campaign to make it illegal to “out” a former porn performer / sugar baby / hooker?

[–]flyinghorse1 19 points20 points  (3 children)

Well I think they try porn out and then realise its not for them and quit.

I know some of the cam-girls have normal lives with albeit low paying jobs - hence for porn to pay the bills.

[–]FfdzcA1mzkHqxEx2AM6g 21 points22 points  (2 children)

Fine, I’m not making moral judgements or telling anyone how to make a living.

But the idea they should somehow be protected from their own choices is absurd.

[–]Dishevel 5 points6 points  (1 child)

But the idea they everyone should somehow be protected from their own choices is absurd progressive.

[–]kakattekoiyo 29 points30 points  (3 children)

i know on some cam sites you can set the streams to only be visible to people in certain countries, so you can block your own.

[–]fgts4trmp 18 points19 points  (2 children)

Also per US state. US camwhores generally ban their own state, not whole of US..

[–]yungassed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah but most betas using those sites tend to be technically competent and use proxy servers to get around such an easy thing.

[–]HereComeTheIrish13 16 points17 points  (2 children)

I've seen quite a few amateurs who never show their face. That probably gives decent odds of not being outed or recognized if you don't have distinct tattoos

[–]WaspOnAWall 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yea but then the face recognition software won't work so it's fine ?

[–]HereComeTheIrish13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure that's true. I wasn't really addressing the OP article, just that commenter saying you cant do it anonymously. Some of those girls have tens of millions of views

[–]joltek 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's all down to consent. Once the bitch signed the consent form, the film makers can do whatever they want with the video, they can post it on the Internet, sell it, vaulted it or if the chick is really ugly, they throw it in the trash.

[–]justblaze42069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would imagine that anyone with a decent number of views on their porn has been recognized, but there's a LOT of porn out there so unless it's good shit and you're doing it pretty regularly you can get away with it pretty easily.

I've only recognized one girl from high school in porn and I ONLY found it because a picture of her is one of the top voted of all time posts on a particular sub I like, and then someone in the comments linked her xvideos profile lmao. But it was some seriously obscure shit. I NEVER would have found it if not for one picture getting some attention.

[–]NotEnoughVideoGames 165 points166 points  (14 children)

If this was used to identify guys who sleep around on Tinder it would have the opposite reaction.

[–]rorrr 27 points28 points  (7 children)

Aren't most under 30 guys on Tinder anyway?

[–]_ramu_ 49 points50 points  (6 children)

But most of guys on Tinder don't get to fuck. (Or at least in my non-US area)

[–]rorrr 8 points9 points  (1 child)

True, but that wasn't the point. You can't identify which ones do from the profile.

[–]Field_Of_View 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure you can't? Not with certainty of course, but you can probably estimate rather reliably just by looking at the photos and the description. Needy, wordy profile - no success. Below 7 in looks - few matches. And so on and so forth. You can't identify the true top 10% Chads but surely you can filter out the bottom 50% with common sense alone.

[–]mp111 6 points7 points  (0 children)

80/20 rule

[–]russian_nigger[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

interestingly enough i fuck so much more on tinder when i'm outside the states than when i'm stateside. i barely log in to tinder here, but when i travel its game time and it yields good results.

[–]KaiSmashSmashSawmash 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What countries do you have luck in?

[–]russian_nigger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mexico, south america, asia. canada is hit or miss, but if you're in a big city its still better than the states

[–]EvrythingISayIsRight 29 points30 points  (2 children)

If tinder had leaderboards for men it would be a fucking hall of fame. The top dudes would be fucking world famous and probably get their own reality TV show. What was your point again?

[–]TwentyEighteen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He’s saying the sjw’s would react differently

[–]Bazino 2 points3 points  (1 child)

OMG, I would so much like to see this.

I think it would do 2 things:

1) 30% of women would change their mind on the Chads and be more open to other guys.

2) 70% of women would go even harder for the top guys cause a) that's the only type of competition they like and b) women like "tested" guys (which is the reason why guys with who are newly married often say the get approaced by women A LOT MORE than before).

[–]sh0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would have unexpected perverse effects

[–]legitimateusername4 55 points56 points  (5 children)

If only there was some way not to video yourself getting fucked and then upload it to the internet.

[–]Field_Of_View 22 points23 points  (2 children)

Gotta love the mental gymnastics involved in rationalizing this behavior as "private" as well. Releasing footage of yourself to the public = privacy. Honk, honk.

[–]WaspOnAWall 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Or maybe they think that the social media is private ?? lol

[–]Field_Of_View 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Social media aren't private unless you use a fake name, never put your face in any of the pictures and only allow contacts to access any of your content. Meaning the only thing an outsider can view are your fake name and a profile pic that reveals no information.

Unless you're doing this you're not private on any social media.

Even more evidence that women absolutely hate taking responsibility for their actions

are your fascist governments stopping you from viewing an archive site here is an alternative link

[–]WaspOnAWall 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I think that the problems with archive.is have to do more with some DNS rather than governments but I'm not sure exactly what the issue is.

I had fixed it for myself a week ago by changing DNS but then it happened again. Now I went back to auto DNS and it's solved again.

[–]Endorsed ContributorJamesSkepp 42 points43 points  (6 children)

This is how you get state to pass laws that curb the surveillance state.

[–]BlindingTwilight 1 points1 points [recovered]

Yes but the law would only help wimminz because they are strong and amazing and powerful and not different from us but wimminz needs to be protected from Eeevil mysogynysts.

[–]redpill77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And somehow trying to enforce the double standard with facial recognition will produce some very transphobic algorithms!

[–]TheImpossible1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You laugh, I got told by a friend in the UK that it's already happening.

Women are protesting the new facial recognition used by the police, but only for them. They don't care if it's used on men.

[–]Endorsed Contributorex_addict_bro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YES! That's the infamous... THOT-CEPCTION

You don't own your partner's past

I'm sure the same is said regarding men who have had sex with prostitutes in the past and never told the woman they are dating. smh.

[–]cloudwarmer 22 points23 points  (2 children)

I feel like immediately after that statement, it would be followed with "you're an incel"

[–]RedPilledGodEmperor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I just find it interesting how it’s perfectly okay to shame someone for being an “incel”, when guys (even good looking ones) have to jump through so many hoops to get laid. Yet you are a misogynist if you dare to suggest that fat women are not attractive, unhealthy and should lose weight. Despite the fact that your weight (thyroid BS excuse) is 100% in your control. So laughable.

[–]TheImpossible1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They really beat that word into the ground.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's actually true, you don't own anyone's past. But you have to assume the worst and look carefully for redflags.

Lol, I just read the title and thought:

DIY Facial Recognition for Porn Is a Dystopian Disaster

"is this vice?"

[–]Senior EndorsedMattyAnon 42 points43 points  (2 children)

Women sure do hate the truth.

Anything unmasked the reality of women is instantly attacked as sexist, empowering men, misogynistic, etc

All because it calls out the truth about the nature of women, and the acts of specific women.

Women need to be able to fuck Chad (possibly on video, possibly for money) and then later tell Billy Beta she's "practically a virgin".

The problem is this app directly threatens her retirement plans marriage options.

[–]Endorsed ContributorFereallyRed 72 points73 points  (3 children)

Who fucking cares.

You upload porn on the net, then you've already made that judgement call.

Plus, It's just porn.

Anyone getting their panties bunched up can fuck off.

[–]duck_duck_fuckyou 24 points25 points  (2 children)

You upload porn on the net, then you've already made that judgement call.

Assuming you're not doing porn where your face is hidden, once you've uploaded the video then you take ownership of your choice; someone you know may eventually stumble across your horse dildo video, that's just the game you play.

Yet when the consequences of that choice are made far more likely, in this case by facial recognition, they don't like it despite the chance always being there that they are found out.

Don't want your future husband to know you starred in a MMF video for $500? Then don't star in a MMF video for $500 in the first place.

[–]user1312421 -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

At the same time, driving a car is taking a chance at being in a crash, but if someone else makes that risk much larger say by driving recklessly, or by taking action with the specific intent of having that risk realized and forcing you to be in a crash, that isn't OK.

[–]JohnnySixguns 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That’s not the same thing at all. In the porn example, the porn performer is taking larger than normal risk which is then exacerbated by someone else.

So a better analogue is simply you, choosing to drive recklessly while avoiding known traffic cameras, and someone comes along and decides to add more traffic cameras you had no idea would be added.

Sucks to be you.

[–]replepok 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They loose their mind because they were originally already victims from evil men with power, then they made themselves think they had cut themselves some slack due to how society/civilization has evolved [laws], that showed an opportunity to their weak minded strategy ("i'm a victim", "listen to me because of that too") it generally just displays weak genes and weak understanding of adequate/attractive social dynamics (Oh yeah they still want their willy wet those sillies...). It has everything to do with how their brain is chemically balanced (unbalanced in this case).

If you read about poses you can take that will up your testosterone level you'll intricately notice something about all the betas and sloots, is that they have closed body language that they try to hide by being overly aggressive, it's like kitties trying to bite you because they try to make you believe you an easy prey to sharpen their instincts on for the "real fight", like you're nothing, but still you have to allow me to fuck you up anyway I want (so still have a certain value then... at least as practice material(irrational behevior)).

So when engaging with sloots and betas, be like Jason Bourne, spot exits and how many of them there are in the area, all that before even introducing yourself to them visually or orally. Obviously the best strategy here is just that you are way too busy right now to spend time being a modern defenseless birdie still up in mommy's nest.

[–]duck_duck_fuckyou 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They're crying about how this is an example of "male dominance", yet it was male dominance that created the system that allows these women to make money getting blown up the ass in the first place.

You can't decry one form of what you believe to be male dominance because it's not beneficial to women, and then not decry the same male dominance when it benefits you. Either male dominance is bad or it isn't, you can't slice it down the middle and attack it when it suits you.

[–]EPArt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Awesome if not only for the fact they are getting so pissed its funny. Good work solider.

[–]TheImpossible1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It won't affect you if you don't do porn.

[–]machocornflakes 5 points6 points  (1 child)

The author of this article is a joke. Looking at her profile what topics she chooses and how she targets makes it clear that everything she writes about is "the enemy", she will always have a reason to be angry at the world.

This one brought some comedy in my day: "garfield is a capitalist psyop targeted at children"

I don't see how people can take this person seriously.

The reality of today is that we live in an age of super transparency, there is no hiding, the quicker people accept this matter the better.

”This is horrendous and a pitch-perfect example of how these systems, globally, enable male dominance,” Soraya Chemaly, author of Rage Becomes Her, tweeted on Tuesday about the alleged project. “

These systems enable whatever it is to whoever wants to exercise its workings, her mentioning male dominance only suggests her own issues. I'd assume a lack of positive male dominance in her life.

[–]ThrowawayGoaway94 5 points6 points  (1 child)

I love how this has been framed exclusively as a woman's issue, like men don't appear in porn at all.

[–]5Imperator_Red 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And women are freaking because they do after all have the “right” to appear anonymously in amateur porn on the internet. That’s somewhere in the bill of rights, I’m sure.

[–]justblaze42069 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lmao you can't be proud of your porn career and also horrified you can't hide it from everyone you know.

It's okay to do porn in my opinion, but like anything else you do in life, there are consequences to your actions.

[–]kombatunit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

happen to women first and then move to the public sphere

TIL women don't exist in the "public sphere."

[–]Field_Of_View 4 points5 points  (0 children)

experts in feminist studies and machine learning

The fact that this author casually lists these two along-side each other as if they were somehow comparable proves we live in a gynocracy. Machine learning is a real field of study.

[–]Endorsed Contributormonsieurhire2 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Anyone who does any kind of porn should expect it AND their real identity, to enter the public sphere. This is the age of the internet, after all. Once someone has nude photos or video of you, they are free to release it onto the internet, and good luck getting it taken down.

I know of at least one person who was bragging about "getting revenge" this way on girls he had hooked up with who nexted him.

I see a lawsuit or even jail in his future.

I also know dudes that sext nudes back and forth.

Again, they are taking a risk, because the girl can always try and monkey with the phone and claim harassment, that it was one-sided.

Also, if you are a minor, you are risking a life-time branding of "sex offender" for "manufacturing child pornography" if you and your high-school sweet-heart trade nudes with each other.

So, any kind of nude pic or video is a bad idea until we definitively enter into a global society that doesn't use sexuality as a weapon. I mean, you can watch two lions fucking on TV, and everyone understands they are doing it out of instinct linked to reproduction. But two humans fucking? Well now, we're going to need a raft of regulation to handle the evidence of the reality that we reproduce through sex, and that also sex is enjoyable because of natural selection.

Finally, if you look up any porn-starlet, there will often be some stalker fan who posts the person's real information for whatever reason.

Warren Ellis once wrote a character who said she didn't do porn because you couldn't easily walk away from it, but she did do prostitution, presumably without being recorded. Porn is advertisement for prostitutes. Most of the "starlets" are also hookers. The porn introduces them to a global audience. It's a calculated risk and all have their way of handling it. Some of the more successful ones engage in the strategy of "owning it," and it appears to work, but who knows what Satan's bargains are being cooked up behind the scenes.

One solution would be for the women in question to change their names. But I'm sure plenty of social damage is already being done.

[–]russian_nigger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the "starlets" are also hookers.

yeah, having a camera is just a cover your ass tactic

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anyone have a link for this?

[–]Flintblood 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Oh, but you know if the same ones that are crying about this could dox everyone posting here and posting on right wing subs, they would jump on it faster than a thot on a platinum credit card.

[–]russian_nigger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't need a credit card at all. a 20 bag of weed does the trick most of the time

[–]LordFlakkko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Am I the only one who is more worried about the government using technology like this rather than exposing whores?

[–]chasemyers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Now everyone's gonna know I'm a whore."

[–]simonsaystorontorpy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't access this article why ?

[–]demilitarizdsm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tech option to whatever perceived problem this solves can't compare to the ability to be able to 'smell damaged'. Get burned once by 'daddy touched me' or 'I lie for money' and you'll have a pretty solid filtering mechanism. I wouldn't give these guys funding, chalk it up as 'beta services/Virtual experiences.'

[–]SomeRandomDuud888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Betas and SJW’s always have that punchable face

[–]DigitalDog0001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this technology is real...the outraged feminists will be quick to adopt it to "out" anyone caught on camera at a peaceful pro life rally or those attending a conservative convention etc. They hate it now, but would love it later.

[–]-uftw- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"This is horrendous and a pitch-perfect example of how these systems, globally, enable male dominance," Soraya Chemaly, author of Rage Becomes Her, tweeted on Tuesday about the alleged project.

OK so let me get this straight: one guy in fucking China claims to have doxxed hos, not even one shred of evidence yet, and that's enough for that bitch to paint a broadstroke on the whole male population?

"Surveillance, impersonation, extortion, misinformation all happen to women first and then move to the public sphere, where, once men are affected, it starts to get attention."

Aren't you specifically bringing attention to it when wamen haven't even been affected yet? Now try to convince me feminists aren't destroying male/female relations...

[–]FlowDo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So is this available for use or anyone tried it? Where’s it at?

[–]TwentyEighteen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So all it does is link two publicly available pieces of data. People should know by now that you shouldn’t post anything on the internet that you don’t want seen, gender being irrelevant

[–]DudeMenGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is revolutionary what a great idea it is

[–]Haaaj1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really its no different using this software than flicking through 5000 pages of porn videos and finding your neighbour. If you upload yourself on a pornsite someone you know is bound to find it. Whether it's by facial recognition or by flicking through tons of pages.

Its your body, your choice - but also your responsibility.

[–]ellendegenorate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

um its none of your business sweaty

[–]regainingmy70percent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d be extremely pleased If someone could hack Planned Parenthood and the uni health clinics; we have to know if the women in our lives are baby killing disease vectors

[–]Senior ContributorMentORPHEUS 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I know it's another slow news day, but did anyone read the article from the beginning all the way through?

the user, who says he's based in Germany, claimed to have “successfully identified more than 100,000 young ladies” in the adult industry “on a global scale.”

To be clear, the user has posted no proof that he’s actually been able to do this, and hasn’t published any code, databases, or anything else besides an empty GitLab page to verify this is real. When Motherboard contacted the user over Weibo chat, he said they will release “database schema” and “technical details” next week, and did not comment further.

One expects the likes of Vice to base an entire article upon vaporware, but why does TRP occasionally indulge?

[–]unn4med 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’re all headline readers! Exposed. Guilty as well.

[–]russian_nigger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

real or not, its the reaction that is the key here

[–]TacticalPolonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hands down to this based fucker.

[–]3chazthundergut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here I must go against TRP.

I know that facial recognition was inevitable but I do not support it.

There are bigger things than pussy and TRP. Privacy is important to me, and it sucks to see us taking a giant step towards Big Mother

[–]Aggressive_Beta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This article is just an advertisement for this feminist’s book. Thanks for ramming a commercial down my throat

[–]BurnoutRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The internet and technology that granted power through anonymity will soon come to be the same tool that can strip away the power anonymity brings.

There once was a time when a persons roles and identities were viewed as oppressive. The internet was part of an answer to this. As the structures that many viewed as a trap were dissolved, we found a new trap in the formless existance of post modernity.

To be anonymous meant a chance to truly be anyone without the limitations of your birth and physical body. To be able to run simulations, to engage in pretend play of a degree no man had ever known before... A person can rework their self image so many times that they no longer remember the starting point.

When "Who am I?" becomes an identity in and of itself, we have Post Modern Anomie.

To those who can only question, certainty will be the most attractive quality.

[–]yomo86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chad is about to be locked down but one quick search will threaten the deal. Sounds like the used car salesmen is afraid of an informened customer

[–]MrAmersfoort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

stalkers are gonna have a field day with this

not that you subhumans would care

[–]iamanalterror_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't put women on a pedestal or anything, but on an individual personal privacy level, I believe this is going too far.

No doubt this software can also be adapted for men, including homosexual men who are in gay porn.

No doubt it will also be used by the Chinese government for its social credit system to penalise those who participate in porn, which will discourage people from participating in porn.

...Maybe this will be a good thing in China if it means less porn.

[–]Yanlii -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Not realistic. There is simply not enough CPU power to analyse all that video data, not enough bandwidth to download all of it and then download ALL profiles on Facebook and cross reference. You'd need to do this for months with most powerful computers and bandwidth and changing proxies all the time so they IP doesn't get banned for scraping. VAPORWARE!
