DISCUSSIONSelf Care (self.RedPillWomen)

submitted by AutoModerator

Taking care of your man, home and family are great but every woman needs to focus on self care too! Only you have the power to make yourself happy! Devoting regular time to yourself ensures that you are rejuvenated and ready to handle all of life's responsibilities with a pleasant attitude and feminine grace. How to work on your self care: Step 1: Make a list of at least 5 things that you enjoy doing. These should be things that delight you NOT things you think you should be doing. Dare to be frivolous! Step 2: Carve out time this month for the things on your list. Step 3: Indulge in the things on your list! Feel refreshed! Make tending to your happiness a part of your daily routine. You'll find that you have more energy and a better outlook on life! And don't forget to report back!!

I discovered rock climbing this week and I think this will make me very happy (and steong)! Oh and... yoga, cooking taking walks, reading and socializing.

Exercise.

There is no better form of self-care than exercise, period, full-stop, end of story. Self-care is not necessarily something that makes you happy. It is about what's objectively good for you. Vegetables don't really make anyone strictly happy but everyone has to eat them. Self-care is about mental vegetables.

Get one hour of sufficiently intensive cardio training and two hours of full body weight resistance training every two days. Get enough sleep, vitamins and mineral, and water. That's all you need to exercise successfully.

With my daughter's health issues, no family around and my husband's work schedule, there has been barely any time for self care for the better part of a year. Recently things have improved and I've been getting an hour or more a day for grooming and hobbies. The difference in my attitude is amazing. It has reinforced the importance of self care! And it also makes me gape in awe at the women with multiple children, demanding jobs, caretaking an elderly family member, time consuming side projects, etc. who can hold it together and find time for self care!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
