Just an observation here. The few friends I have that I’d consider alpha simply respect me more now that I’m bigger, the rest of them, the clear betas, all look to compensate for the fact they’re clearly now physically inferior with snide comments, clearly jealous remarks, bitchy behaviour, etc. It’s like betas have a built in inferiority complex which activates when they see someone around them succeeding?

Anyone else experienced this?

Crabs in a bucket.

I got my brother doing this to me. Causing a lot of family drama since I’ve been ghosting him recently. Mom also asking for an explanation. I’ve said he’s to negative around me. They still want me to “make up” with him. I’m 22 he’s 25.

it's not just lifting.

have you made bank at some point in your life (even if you don't flaunt it?) and these 'friends' learned of it?

or landed a "she's out of your league" girl and brought her around?**

or gotten a project/promotion/win professionally and these 'friends' learned of it?

In my near 50 yrs of experience: true friends (whether Alpha or Beta) are happy for you - or acquaintances who aren't threatened by you, are indifferent and possibly complementary, as you noted/observed .

** the bring the hottie around does something funny. The Beta acquaintances will actually flirt with her, in some weird form of "jeeze if i-am-the-prize got her here, she must want to talk to me too!" Guys who won't flirt with a random girl when we were out and about, feel oddly brave in this situation. Seen it more than once. from HS to college to professional happy hours and business trips when i would have a FB meet me in a city I was visiting/traveling, I would stay a few extra days after the event, and my FB would hang and bang for a few days of fun. Often, on the last night of the event/meeting/conference/training/etc, my coworkers and traveling social group would overlap with my "hot off the plane" FB. These loser office Beta boys would come crashing/panting/flirting with my dial-a-FB, yet the previous 2-5 days of this event they were dicks in hand staring at the floor when women were around. Pathetic.

Wouldnt just working in an office setting make you beta as well? The real alpha is whoever owns that company not the peasants working for him. At the end of the day your just someones bitch at work, doing all the work and making someone else rich.

You have more freedom when you own a company in the sense that you control all aspects of what happens within it.

This explains why CEOs, or anyone at the top of their profession, is extremely controlling. It's a good thing.

However, for most owners, there are no off days, or vacations, or weekends, or the end of a work day. It's all the time. You're not free.

This.

Depends if youre a harvey spectre like character or not. Working for someone isnt beta... not everyone is cut out to be an entrepreneur. Some jobs give a lot of autonomy.

no, it's not a binary choice.

having a j.o.b. is a trade of time for payment, with where/when dictated by the employer (a contractor/1099 by definition has more freedom, but no benefits and less stability) so there is a sliding scale.

I've been both. There are plusses and minuses to both being a cog in the wheel (Going home at the end of the day and washing your hands of "work issues" until you're back "on the clock" is extremely beneficial to work-life-balance) and "never leaving work" because I owned (not just CEO but 100% owner) the company (small, < 10M a year in rev, < 25 employees) and I worked over 70hrs a week and never felt I was truly off the clock.

Sure I made bank, but the people who worked for me had more freedom in some ways, and neither role defined me or them as universal Alpha.

There can be contextual Alphas in many different parts of the day (remember Rollo's reference to that male teacher who married his student of 4 years when she turned 18?, he was 'Alpha' of his classroom; but not what we would call an Alpha in the larger sense). I have friends who are strong software developers working for a big soulless companies with their names on patents, making > $200k/yr; they threaten to leave every few years and get $20-40k thrown at them in bonus to stick around. They work 25-60 hrs a week, depending on development schedules and project pushes. Their temperament isn't suited to owning a company, they are in the best spot for themselves, and aren't Beta because they "work in an office". They may be the apex of non CxO revenue vs. hours I know of, but their skillset allows for them to be a reference datapoint for me of a good trade of $$ per hour.

I would rather make money via a business(es) which generate recurring revenue disproportional to my direct labor efforts. At first, it's a losing proposition, it's sucks and it's difficult, and you have to want it. But once it gets rolling, I now make money while I sleep, get massages during the day, go on vacation, or work on making more. Does that make me more Alpha? - I thought it did. But after reading RP/MRP and such, no it made me a good BetaBucks chump. I got soft thinking that b/c I made bank and can buy whatever I want I was a stud. I was a chump with a checkbook.

Alpha is Game, Looks and Frame. Being a CEO and having money are not requirements; possibly props and tools to your Game, but not requirements for Alpha in my view.

They resent you because you remind them they're stagnating.

[–]Night-Owler22 points23 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Crabs in bucket and unconsciously they know you gone up in the pecking order.

These types of people are shit my man. They will belittle you, make fun of your progress, fuck you over with potential women ("he's a gym rat asshole while im just a sweet guy!!!11!) which can work out better for you, and overall be a massive nuisance.

Smash that noise out and go ghost. You don't need people like that.

This was one of the biggest mind f*cks that I have experienced since I've become red pill aware and started improving myself. The more successful you become, the more hate you'll get from other people. This is especially true with women after a relationship ends. The biggest mistake you can make is perceiving these insults, putdowns etc. through a blue pill lens. People only hate on and go after, for the most part, people who they think can take it. No condoning their actions but you've got to not only turn yourself into a high SMV man but also develop the mindset, too. Some of my biggest setbacks have come from entertaining the hate I got from other people because I thought I wasn't good enough. Totally wrong. The better you become, the more hate you'll deal with. That expression, it's lonely at the top rings true. Improving yourself externally (looks, money, status) is half the battle. The other half is the mental frame/mindset you must develop to live that lifestyle and deal with people, both professionally and personally.

That's why your alpha friends are showing you love. They recognize the real from the fake and can see you're on the right path. That's a big sign and a testament to your self improvement when other alphas start vibing with you.

great perspective, thanks for this!

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

As you grow in life you’ll need to cut people out of your life. This is a good thing. It means you’re making progress

You’ll notice some betas are only nice because they are powerless in society. True alphas love the competition

[–]SmallHatSodomite3 points4 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

1000% this. Don’t be afraid to cut family and your closest friends. If they aren’t growing with you or helping you progress they gotta go. The hardest ones for me were guys I was deployed with. Who I was forged in battle with. It stung for a while, but I’ve got shit I want to accomplish

Disgrace

[–]Endorsed Contributorleftajar6 points7 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, when I started really pulling in revenue from my business, I had to drop a bunch of acquaintances because they literally couldn't handle it. They hated their careers, had no growth potential, and didn't want to hear about how well I was doing.

[–]zboo1h5 points6 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Real friends celebrate with your accomplishments and help you pull yourself out of your valleys.

[–]Budfox_924 points5 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

My beta friends that i've known from childhood have a habit of bringing up some of my more embarrassing moments in life and anything they can to remind me of points in my life where I was weak. I only realised how toxic their behaviour was when I went away for a few years to study and when I seen the outside world and how people should actually behave and from reading TRP it dawned on me how they really aren't my friends anymore but just acquaintances now. The only 2 friends I have from childhood who are not Beta never actually put me down or remind me of that stuff.

The more i'm away from these people in general the happier I am it will probably be the same for you

[–]Bear_Bison0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

Nice. What’s your height, weight and body fat percentage? What was your starting weight, height and body fat?

[–]Skinnyboiwithadream[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Started super skinny at 155lbs, maybe 11% body fat, now I’m pretty close to 190lbs, maybe 9-10%? I’m 6’3, so I’m still not huge by any stretch, but I’ve made some pretty good progress in the year I’ve been training.

Same shit different day. Crab mentality etc.

Aphas and betas aren't even a thing.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
