Who created TRP? When did it start for the first time? Did it start as a subreddit or another site? When exactly did they make the main sub? How did it come to have so much success spreading out to men and helping them improve their lives? I wanna know more about this big family. I am just very curious and don't know who to ask.

Who created TRP?

Myself and a couple of others were the original mods and primary contributors. I was #2 or #3 right after /u/redpillschool.

When did it start for the first time? Did it start as a subreddit or another site? When exactly did they make the main sub?

The main sub was created sometime in 2013. The concept of the red pill as we know it began fractured all over the place with people dropping red pills across the internet. I was recruited because of what I've contributed to the manosphere over the years (eg. branch swinging) prior to TRP coming to fruition. I was popular on /r/seduction, /r/mensrights, and several others subreddits, as well as over at Sosuave and a ton of PUA forums. It slowly coalesced into /r/theredpill we have today, but the kindling was all over the place per the above.

How did it come to have so much success spreading out to men and helping them improve their lives?

It spoke to men's life experiences and rung true. The rest is history.

🙏

Here's to the lives you saved, mine included, and of those yet to come.

[–]DerpJungler 15 points16 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Props to you for putting the work and contributing to spreading this knowledge among other men.

I appreciate the collection of knowledge in the main sub. Ive found pieces in that sub which have shaped me as a person and made me a better man.

Thank you for all you do. RP fights a lot of the new propaganda movements that have arisen in recent years designed to really tear apart human gender relations.

My historical tangential story: We've seen this infection of corrosive ideologies within movements related to identity politics that did not exist before the 2010s (at least not as much). This identity politics infection started a lot with foreign interference of internet & academia in the West, in particular, social studies departments who at first were simply trying to deNazify and "de-emphasize" genes/male-women-differences---but it has reached peak wokeness and infected many corporations and even social-media administrations (hence the Red Pill Quarantine).

But these aren't American values. Some can be traced to EU, Maoists, Leninists, and Russia. It's always existed in some form in academia (something known by security forces in the West for a long time according to KGB archival books written by defectors), but never at these levels.

Dr. Jordan Peterson has also made this come a little more into the media mainstream limelight. The deceptive tactics, the pitchfork mobs in social media, the identity politics obsession and SJW movements. These are not normal parts of American politics. And for whatever reason, they started in colleges.

Even Bill Maher, known for going to universities was shocked by the opposition he faced in colleges, attempts to disinvite him, and restrict free speech. Bill Maher of course was the first to notice it and had a show "Politically Incorrect".

It has taken a long time for the mainstream to come to realize this, but I doubt TRP will stay quarantined for long. Once the infection is removed things will return back to normal.

The US has always been an individualist society. A society growing up on John Wayne and machoness, and yet there were always these attempts to create an effeminate blue-pill society by some hidden groups trying to sell us fairy tales. I think a lot of it may have been invited openly because they thought it would just lead to "nicer men", that is my main theory, to "reduce crime" but then pushed forward fully to extremes with foreign propaganda.

Man, I just want to appreciate how many male suicides you've probably prevented. Yet, somehow it's still a banned subreddit. Thanks for your work. It's definitely improved my life

[–]Pristine_Sheepherder 2 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Do you guys know each other in real life?

[–]∞ Mod | RP Vanguardbsutansalt 2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Nope.

[–]Krebota 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Thank you, I wouldn't be where I am now if it wasn't for the red pill and that was since I was 16, now I'm 19 and I'm only going forward.

[–]Red-Lantern 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Good info but OP comes off like they're trying to do research to cherry pick responses. I expect another smear piece expose sometime soon.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

thank you for your time and contributions sir.

[–][deleted] 62 points63 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

I believe SoSuave was one of the first forums.

[–]BatsNightmares 25 points26 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I was there. Kickstarted it without a name in my country with some people.

[–]Boggob15 10 points11 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Early 21 century forums in the dawn of online grouping made the red-pill positive. SoSuave was one of those early forums that made a huge impact. Also don’t exclude books from the early 2000’s, men’s clubs.

[–]BatsNightmares 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Been an ex PUA that time but the culture did not yet have the red pill formation or name. Yes

[–]boy_named_su 25 points26 points  (10 children) | Copy Link

The earliest mention of "the red pill" on sosuave.net is from 2004, by Pook

www.sosuave.net/forum/threads/holy-grail-of-tips.51545/page-2

Pook's earliest post is from 2000:

www.sosuave.net/forum/threads/one-of-the-most-important-posts-ever.18317/#post-150203

Roosh started publishing in 2005 under DCBachelor:

www.dcbachelor.com/history-lesson

(correction, he indicates on the above page that he had a different blog for 3 years prior)

The earliest Roissy post I can find is from 2007

I am a bit surprised there is nothing from 1990s, since both The Matrix and Fight Club were 1999 movies.

[–]Red-Lantern 8 points9 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

The internet back then was niche forums and irc used by mainly by the tech savvy. As the internet became easier to navigate more people could aggregate.

[–]ScratchinCommander1 points [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

And then it went downhill when it all went mainstream. It's really hard to find good content in the nowadays internet polluted with social media, shitty news sites, pinterest and etc... The good old days ended with the first iPhone.

[–]Red-Lantern 8 points9 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

That's exactly when the internet shifted. Lowering the barrier of entry was a chaotic neutral to the equilibrium of the internet. It flooded the ecosystem and added more passive consumers and rewarded low effort production.

Not to say that gate keeping is good as the information is there for those that want it.

Fighting against censorship and disinformation is the biggest obstacle today as the information war is a real thing.

Art is the best offense and defense as it is also the most attacked and suppressed. It is smeared by propping up the most insane post-modernist interpretations as the face of the whole.

Music, movies, shows, paintings, sculptures, books, comics. Freeform diversity of thought and ideas without suppression.

Fear not of man

[–]boy_named_su 1 point2 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

Mystery used to post on the alt.seduction.fast newsgroup back in the 90s, but it was called PUA back then, not TRP

[–]amd206 0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

What’s the man doing now?

[–]CryptoViceroy 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

He left the community and I believe he's now married.

[–]BatsNightmares 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

This. I've been talking with mystery, we kept contact this long as we got in touch during 2012. Man's been married a couple times. To be accurate he's now divorced. Still managing seminars in his own website with other puas. Look it up.

[–]z2a1-9 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Awesome

[–]BatsNightmares 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

The elders.

[–]MatSapientia 42 points43 points  (31 children) | Copy Link

The three Rs are the fathers of the redpill (as a philosophy) and manosphere

  • Roissy (Chateau Heartiste blog author) who was shutdown due to his extreme Nazi propaganda.
  • Roosh V who returned to Christianity and withdrew his works.
  • Rollo Tomassi who wrote The Rational Male series, and a top contributor in sosuave forums.. still active.

The Subreddit, as the Mod said.. I can’t confirm nor deny.

Rollo is my favorite, the most psychologically stable. Roosh seemed depressed in his writings and Roissy seemed angry. But all were awesome redpill writers.

[–]Nergaal 8 points9 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

What's the story with Roosh? Seems a bit of an odd development

[–]CasaDeFranco 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

He looked into the abyss and found nothing.

He found that cashing skirt is a meaningless existence and is finding meaning in God.

[–]YouNeverKnowAnyone 2 points3 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

Rollo has a high voice and I've never seen him acting alpha at all in any video. I think he'd always had a hard time with women until he really sat down and thought about it.

[–]MatSapientia -2 points-1 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

You don’t see him with any woman in any video. You obviously haven’t read his books. Read them. You’ll come to know his history before the redpill and PUA came to exist

[–]YouNeverKnowAnyone -1 points0 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I read the first one. That's why I said that. It doesn't seem like he's a natural and just dissected it, but an outsider who had to figure it out. His voice is weak and when he was on with molynuex he was agreeing to things he specifically said he was against in his book. Clearly monynuex dominated him. He also advocated senseless hedonism for the sake of it. Why have sex if not to gain experiance to eventually handle a women you'll reproduce with better, or better yet go to a country where you won't get welfare raped and reproduce with a woman there then leave? He talks about evolution but thinks not reproducing is completely okay. He's just a male positive postmodernist, nothing special. That being said I did learn some from the rational male and I'm going to read the next one. I hope he at least mentions the actual motivation of sex; reproduction.

The real reason an alpha should fuck so many women is to spread alpha seed and strengthen the gene pool. All he talks about is happiness and living in the moment. Typical boomer in many aspects.

I want to look into this Roissy guy.

[–]boy_named_su 7 points8 points  (18 children) | Copy Link

One thing I don't get is if you quote one of the Three R's here, people will say stuff like "I don't care what R says, do x instead". It's bizarre

[–]MatSapientia 25 points26 points  (10 children) | Copy Link

They are not gods, red pill is not a religion. Humans are not robots, think for yourself.

You can sharpen your judgement if you consume enough quality literature. Read/listen to the rational male books.

[–]bradyo2 9 points10 points  (8 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, also two of them went fucking nuts

[–]MatSapientia 15 points16 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Natural pua end. It’s like overusing drugs. You either do something dramatic to get out of this hell or you have an ugly end

[–]Project_Zero_Betas 4 points5 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm surprised none of them reached the Final Form of TRP: Multiple OLTRs.

[–]Original_Dankster 6 points7 points  (5 children) | Copy Link

Blue pillers describe red pilled people as "fucking nuts".

Maybe they just found another level of red pill that you haven't taken yet.

[–]bradyo2 14 points15 points  (4 children) | Copy Link

Ok mate. Don’t think you need many brain cells to realise that Jewish genocide isn’t a good idea

[–]guymanthing 2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I feel like that is the overarching theme here.

Respect yourself enough to think for yourself.

[–]DerpJungler 7 points8 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

We shouldn't blindly follow what somebody has once said, but evaluate and apply it within our own context.

They gave us the tools, we're building our houses.

[–]ReddJive 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Rare gem of a comment here.

[–]Endorsed Contributorvandaalen 20 points21 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

It's almost as if... we are individuals. Who would have fucking guessed?

[–]Foolishoe 2 points3 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

I dont care what vandaalen says, do what I know to be right instead.

[–]Endorsed Contributorvandaalen 2 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

this is a free world. see you when you come back whining because of the horseshit that hit the fan.

[–]Foolishoe 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I love the shit you say. I have for years.

Thank you for all the effort you continue to give.

[–]Non-Cookie-cutter 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

What’s bizarre is that you’re being a fanboy sheep on a forum that’s about becoming a man or an alpha.

Learn as much as you can but don’t just take their words for it , think for yourself and experiment.

[–]FaP_caesar 1 point2 points  (5 children) | Copy Link

How can someone seem depressed in writing. Put some example from Roosh

[–]MatSapientia 18 points19 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

Read the book “Game” for yourself. You’ll feel depressed by the end when he talks about his world view. Which isn’t wrong but he locked himself in the game world which is a crappy one full of sluts while wishing to find his wife. Depression is a natural result of winning game repeatedly. Failure to find last LTR is natural PUAs open end. Success is the exception.

I don’t have specific quotation in head right now, it’s been months since I read it.

Rollo on the other hand acknowledges the ugly reality and then shows you the bright side of it, and how to use it to your benefit.

[–]Flintblood 3 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

he locked himself in the game world which is a crappy one full of sluts while wishing to find his wife. Depression is a natural result of winning game repeatedly. Failure to find last LTR is natural PUAs open end.

I suspect too many "players" end up performing for women and indulging purple pill fantasies. Hitting the brick wall at the outer limits of the PUA ONS world is exactly is why it's not altogether wrong or anti-woman or weak to innoculate yourself to the potential of living on your own alone and going your own way. To go your own way does not mean going celibate or giving up. It means doing the calculus to figure out how much squeeze the juice is worth, and not being a slave to chasing notches or indulging purple pill fantasies of finding a quality LTR. The men going their own way willingly accepting that there will never be another stable LTR. When a man accepts that he should and can be alone (but with bros and family) you can be free and do things for you and just enjoy short relationships with women while they last.

[–]TheNashvilleConnxion1 points [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

Like also finds like. He was, on a deep level, poorly suited to the game and to living in DC. Then he practiced the game and managed to pull at least some women who he didn't like very much and who didn't meet his own personality.

He is like Buridan's ass, torn between the desire to be a player and the desire to have a stable family. Contrary to popular belief around here, the latter is not an impossible goal today. But it is very hard and unlikely in DC and other major coastal cities. And it is hard to optimize as a player and then search for a wife. If you're optimizing your status as a provider, looking for a similarly minded woman, you're not going to be much of a player.

He never resolved his own internal contradictions, and probably still hasn't.

[–]MatSapientia 2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I think embracing religion might have helped him.

I agree with you on the rest, searching for a pearl in a farm of pigs isn’t very good approach. Women who come to you through PUA games are the same ones who’ll leave to another PUA..

That could be a reason why PUAs oneitis women who aren’t reactive to their game. They unconsciously think “if I could get this one, I’d finally find someone who’s worth parental investment”.. the downside is that his game isn’t necessarily the ultimate or only game in the existence, each woman reacts to a different game.

This is one of the reasons why I became more attached to my religion, religious women react to a very different game, one that contains less manipulation and more honesty. That’s my experience.

[–]Velebit 19 points20 points  (4 children) | Copy Link

The problem with this question is that the mere asking it begs another question of why are these facts obscure in the first place. As the general concept of redpill expands and gets millions of people who subscribe to it... wouldn't there be people who want to profit from it.

Well there lies the answer.

In general trp is based on works such as 'The Selfish Gene' and 'Sex At Dawn' which are both very biased and factually incorrect works. Whatever you have read here on in the sidebar™ is directly or indirectly influenced by those works.

Authors of those books deliberately worked to obscure the prosocial aspects of human nature and to focus entirely on the antisocial ones and do mental backflips to explain everything in narcissistic hedonistic terms.

The reason why the 'founders' are obscure is due to dead ends the whole thing showed up as. Best examples as Roosh V and Neil Strauss who did enormous things to popularize the whole thing. Both of these guys did a 180 turn due to being profoundly unhappy with their lives as promiscuous bachelors living for their pet project 'business' and gym.

[–]EnemyAsmodeus 7 points8 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

'The Selfish Gene' and Richard Dawkins evolutionary scientific work has absolutely had a big influence on men's right communities but not because Dr. Dawkins ever tried to interact with any such subject. But his writings have been some big "red pills" of truth in terms of how there are movements to try to de-emphasize the role of genes/evolution in human life.

Richard Dawkins and other atheists launched a lot of the 'atheist' movement in that Dr. Dawkins wrote books about religion/God as well as evolutionary biology. But the way he wrote these books were with an amazing understanding of humanity and belief. Similar patterns are seen in RedPill subreddit.

Evolutionary biology is real and there's been a lot of attempts at ridiculing this by certain movements misguided into thinking that by fighting the reality of evolutionary biology they might "equalize" or to attempt to "denazify" and oppose "eugenics" movements. But this is misguided because the truth is NOT AT ALL RELATED to the evils of Nazi propaganda or eugenics. It's just reality that genes have a big effect on human life and we have to adapt to it.

[–]Velebit 4 points5 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

I am aware. Sam Harris, Jonathan Haidt and Edward Dutton deconstruct his positions very well. I would advise taking a look at any of these great people. Maybe start with searching group selection Jonathan Haidt in Youtube search.

[–]Foolishoe 1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Thanks that stuff should be interesting.

[–]Velebit 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Pwnishment87[🍰] 6 points7 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Its based on philosophy that is centuries old. TRP can find trace roots in "Machiavellian". Among others.

[–]boy_named_su 4 points5 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Roissy aka Heartiste was on of the first

He was blogging trp stuff in 08 and probably earlier

[–]2RedPill-BlackLotus 8 points9 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

Nobody. Its just what works. Who created gravity?

Electricity was always there, someone just had to notice it. It's the same with the red pill.

[–]ElijahBurningWoods 16 points17 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

But someone had to give the child a name. Who was it?
