These two links are to the first books in two series by Conn Iggulden. One about Julius Caesar and one about Genghis Khan. These books are well written although they are not strictly historical fact. The style serves to bring life to the characters and is very engaging.

Many lessons about self improvement can be learnt from Genghis Khan - he starts as the weakest of his fathers sons and when their father is murdered they are banished from the clan. Genghis takes charge of his family and improves himself with incredible drive and will. He is possibly the best example of an Alpha warrior there is.

The books on Julius Caesar show many of the same aspects although Caeser is somewhat more civilised than Genghis he can be just as ruthless. Again, Caeser also starts as a weakling who is bullied by the older neighbouring children. He too pulls himself up from his bootstraps and unleashes his pure Alpha.

Both series are well worth the read and very inspirational. 5/5
