As a question of law, the officers aren't in the wrong. Cross-complaints of domestic violence, coupled with a complaint and denial of malicious property damage. The municipality (in a Midwestern town) had a policy of mandatory arrest for domestic violence calls, even if the alleged victim later retracts the accusation. And on paper, if they went home after hearing her say "he twisted my arm", and the next day she showed up in a hospital with a broken wrist, they'd be on the hook.

We live in a society where the state is expected to come into your house pretty aggressively. We've traded the risk of a false positive heavily against the risk of a false negative, by judging the prospect of any further domestic violence as being worse than any unnecessary arrest. Not everwhere is like that. I've lived abroad in a couple of different countries. There are plenty of places where the officers would say "I see no evidence of excessive bodily harm here, you two need to sort your own shit out" and leave because nobody was using a true weapon.

This was about 6 months into my marriage. It was a Friday night, so we got the whole weekend to think and read whatever second hand books were in the local detention facility. But come Monday, she "repented" and swore it would never happen again. And being 100% blue-pilled at that time, I drank that piss like it was wine.

To all the young bucks out there, keep your eyes open. When you wear rose colored glasses, you'll miss the red flags. I was good about screening for the classic ones: she doesn't smoke, rarely drank (maybe half a glass of wine on a holiday), low n-count, was petite, and was very smart. But holy shit hid she hide a lot of family shit. I'd been brought up to be accepting and not judge people on that shit, to not search for it. Well, that's a good way to end up with a domineering narcissistic and frequently abusive wife.

You grow up knowing and believing that you are able to defend yourself. That you have dignity and power. But one day you discovery that society can turn that on on it's head. If I tried one tenth of the shit she pulled that first year, I'd be in jail right now. That isn't an exaggeration.

Honestly, it was this incident that set me off onto the internet to discover the Red Pill. It wasn't the last, and I'm still learning.

A lot of guys post long reports here because they want to boast about how they've "figured it all out". I can't boast that. I'll start working out, and then the job becomes demanding and I fall out of the routine. Establish frame for a few months, and then something happens and it cracks.

The only thing in this world you can control is yourself. That's square 1.

For guys out there with a partner who has a mental health problem (even if undiagnosed), remember that you've got to be strong. If I didn't have a child, I'd have ended this years ago. I know a lot of guys would. I could be out there slaying it. But I feel like if I don't stay in my daughter's life as a model of healthy masculinity, she'll become another wayward young woman of the sort you all know who learns nothing but entitlement and contempt from a single mother.

There are a lot of guys over in Married Red Pill who walk the line between being a strong father and an ATM. Well, well life, hardship, freedom, and the choice to be authentic has been thrust on each and every one of us.

When the next depression or war rolls around, and things get hard, its you who everyone will look to. They'll want you to die for them, and if you live, to build for them. But that's what men have always done. Build your foundations, and know that even in an era of hedonism and ingratitude, tomorrow is the judge of today, and you are responsible for every day of your life.
