The "Fuck Boy" Phenomenon and why men would love to be considered guys who women think are only good for sex (self.PurplePillDebate)

Every now and then I find myself getting amongst the dating drama of two girls in my class. Besides being entertaining, it is in one of these situations that I first came across the term “fuck boy”. Girl1 called out Girl2 for banging the fuck boy.

I inquired into the behaviors of the fuck boy. Typical Alpha fux as it turns out. This guy is keen to fuck but never commits. Both girls proceeded to shame his behavior but at the same time it is them who give him the power to behave in such a way, ah naivety.

When I asked them why a guy in his position would commit when he's already taking from the pot of gold, they attempted to use mutual commitment as a valid means of leverage. Cute.

It's just an extension of female rationalization. She's fucking him because she's interested in him, realizes she can't date him so she then pretends she was never interested in dating him in the first place.

I've come to believe that every "Fuck Boy" was once a girls beloved Alpha. It was only once she realized that she couldn't lock him down and that she was nothing more than another one of his notches that she reclassified him as a "Fuck Boy." He's onto the next and she's left standing there with his jizz leaking out of her, it happens all the time.

That's the How, the Why is girls attempting to reclaim some power from the men that hit it and quit it by inventing a juvenile epithet for them. They'll typically hit up social media to spew their faux dismissal of a man they were probably crazy about just a few weeks before. It doesn't take a genius to spot the falseness of it all, she's the one who got used and everyone knows it. Ultimately, very few "Fuck Boys" are crying over the fact that they are, in fact, boys who fuck a lot of girls.

Where have you ever heard the term "Fuckboy" used as an insult?

Girls that sleep with Fuckboys say it as a pretty transparent attempt to "get one over them" by caring less.

"Oh no Guys just use me for sex, I'll show them! I'll use them for sex!"

Oh no. Please don't use me for sex. I'd be devastated. Meaningless cheap sex. What hell is this. Please don't call me a Fuckboy.

And the best part is that it is the best type of pre-selection, it's another Girl saying that your worthy of fucking. If a Girl wants some casual sex she needs to go to a bar full of 100 Dudes, she has to find the maybe 4-5 who she would Fuck.

Being called a Fuckboy is like a spotlight shining down on you saying "This Guy Right here"

To me, fuckboi has like a trashy connotation to it. It either meant you were kinda dumb or just like a party bro. It's not all dudes who get laid a lot.

You're not familiar with how fuckboys are looked down on in contemporary culture as the guy who isn't alpha enough to act with an abundance mindset (recall the post where men who get numerous options tend to not see casual sex as a trophy). Fuckboys are still thirsty enough to beg for sex or hound women for it and a lot of them can't get relationships. Hence the derogatory nature of the term.

Fuck boy, boy.” Here, Cam’ron lists the boy’s traits and then calls him some type of boy after it. For example, “Yo, where you from dog? Harlem boy, boy.” In his song, he uses fuckboy to mean a guy who is a weak loser, who sucks, who isn’t conventionally masculine, or who “ain’t shit.” After “Boy Boy,” more songs started to use this term. In 2004, T.I. and DJ Drama released a song called “99 Problemz (But Lil’ Flip Ain’t One) Freestyle,” which featured the word. In 2008 and 2009, two new songs called “Fuckboy” were released by Othorized F.A.M and DJ Paul, respectively.

In late 2014, fuckboy took off. On September 14th, Tumblr user rememberingsunday made a post detailing the traits of a fuckboy. These include “relies on his mom but doesn’t respect women,” and “askin’ for nudes when all u did was say hello.”

Then, on September 15th, the hip-hop group Run the Jewels released “Oh My Darling Don’t Cry,” which features the lyrics “That fuckboy life about to be repealed / that fuckboy shit about to be repelled.”

Asked to clarify what he meant, Killer Mike responded, “[Y]ou can identify fuckboys … because they are always doing fuck shit. Just the dumbest, weirdest, lamest possible shit ever.”

In its original context, the word was used to insult a man for lack of traditional masculinity. On Urban Dictionary — the respected authority on such matters — the first definition of a fuckboy, from December 2004, is “a person who is a weak ass pussy.” Nothing new. But in the second entry, written nearly ten years later, fuckboys take on a different set of traits, like “relies on his mom but doesn’t respect women” and “can’t find the clitoris.”

Actually I have several decent guy friends who were called “fuck bois” due to miscommunications, and they were pretty upset about that, because it also means irresponsible and douchebags. This word is definitely overused, and it might sound glory now, but when a fuckboi actually wants to settle down, no girl would EVER take him seriously. I used to work with an otherwise lovely, good-looking guy who made it clear he was really interested in me. But he had such a fuckboi reputation that I was never gonna touch him with a ten foot barge pole. And when he stopped hinting and finally asked me out, I said to him that we were clearly looking for very different things.

He got really upset about it and confronted one of my friends about spreading rumours, but frankly that kind of behaviour just made it worse.

Yes we generalise, but that comment wasn’t a generalisation - it was directly accusing me of lying.

Perhaps she does feel that way - I can imagine you would feel used if a guy you thought was serious about you left after getting sex. But equally, I think a big part of it is lack of communication - far fewer guys are willing to outright lie and say they’re looking for a relationship and are interested in you for that reason to then dump you after sex than are happy to just say nothing and let her think what she likes.

It’s why I’ve always been upfront about it - saves time, energy and potential bad feelings.

Where did I say that they did? I said I can imagine feeling disappointed if you had believed they were going to commit, but that being clearer about what you want at the start was the thing that needed to change.

Anyone that lies, whether it’s men or women and for whatever reason, to get what they want is untrustworthy and morally repugnant. But in most cases nobody asks the question, so women think one thing and men another about the same encounter.

I mean, don’t get me wrong - I went into that conversation biased and with a good idea of what he was looking for, just from knowing several people he’d be sexually linked to in our shared circles. I just wasn’t about to be a bitch when someone had the balls to directly ask me out, and if he had wanted to correct my assumptions he had an opportunity to do that.

But regardless of whether he had or not, to be honest it’s a big turn off. I still keep up with him, and he’s still to all appearances a fuckboi. Doesn’t stop him being a lovely guy, but that reputation will put plenty of women off him.

It might not insult him but it serves as a caution to other women. If he’s a good enough fuckboy I guess it won’t matter much but word spreads and most women are looking for something more, so his game will fall apart. It might take a bit of time—heavily dependent on the size of his social circle—but in a finite circle such as a small college or university, ultimately the only women left in his reach will be the ones with all the diseases because they care just as much as he does about who they get with as long as they get anything.

Some women are fine with just fucking someone, but literally no woman ever heard the word fuckboy and thought, “wow he must be worth fucking.” Calling someone a fuck boy just helps alert other women to the fact that there’s nothing to be gained there. If they still want to fuck a fuckboy that’s fine. It happens. But from the perspective of the first woman, at least they’ve been warned.

Heard a woman once tell another woman about a guy she had already been with. “Hey, if you just want to fool around a bit and have fun, go for it, but don’t expect anything more.” The woman who was considering the fuckboy definitely appeared to change her level of interest. Take that for what it’s worth but... yeah it’s influential to other women even if the dude isn’t insulted.

Shaming hasn't gotten less effective, I'd be willing to argue it's gotten more effective because of how easily cultural "memes" can spread due to modern media. "Women" are now a much larger connected group than ever before and are able to refine and propogate their messages more easily than ever before.

Shame doesn't work on "fuckbois", but it never has and never will. The shame tactic for controlling male behavior isn't for "Chad" it's for every other guy. It also acts as a filter for sexual selection, if a guy is changing his behavior because you shame him for it, it's because he thinks he can't be himself and get pussy so he has to appease you.

The plan was always fuck the guys who don't listen to you, aquire resources from the ones who do.

No, there really are men who women consider fuckboys.

There are lots of women who just want sex without commitment.

Some men do get hurt by these women. If you've met and slept with a great girl and you think something more is going to come out of it, yes, you get hurt. I've seen this happen quite a few times. I've done it myself, without thinking of the consequences to the guy.

That doesn't mean that 'fuckboys' exist any more than 'pump and dumps'. It's just a label other people give them.

Sometimes fuckboy and pump/dump are just shaming language. Other times, they are terms people use to describe using someone for sex.

It's not a good thing either way.

Shaming is used because it's effective when women use it against each other. Shaming also require caring about what society or her social circle thinks.

It is probably the most damaging form of control. And women who lack self awareness usually respond to it and also been used on. Their social circle, friends, mothers probably used it at one stage to control her.

It won't work on a fuck boy because you can't shame someone who is well aware of his behaviour or that his social group actually award men with higher reputation when sleeping with women.

What is a fuckboy? A dude who has a little bit of swag and a little bit of game and someone falls for it. It's not even hard to get to that point. You know them when you see them. A low class fuckboy looks like a kinda grungy party dude but overly made up. A slightly better fuckboy looks like a mildly successful guy but again a bit overly made up.

Modern culture doesn't expect guys to dress up. Yeah there are trendy dudes but for the most part if you're successful you're half expected to be super casual like Jobs or Zuckerberg at least on your off time and they didn't really have a cool look.

This is against every evolutionary and biological science principle. Females of any species need DNA from males in order for a species to continue to survive. Female choosiness is the principle that has developed among many species, and this includes humans. But even in our closest animal relatives, the female goes into heat. The only thing that motivates biology is reproductive success, not your desire for this magical fictitious "female sexuality".
