Red Pill Theory

Quick-and-dirty tips and tricks for aspiring alphas

(self.TheRedPill)

submitted by [deleted]

A pure, natural alpha doesn't need tips and tricks for maintaining frame, but I am anything but a natural alpha and these are some simple techniques I've employed to "fake it till I make it" with respect to communicating with women, including in a LTR.

Never discuss your feelings or emotions. Just don't. Holding her hand in silence or hugging her warmly is all she needs. Do not betray your inner emotional life to a woman's fickle ears.

Do not talk about yourself. Don't psychoanalyze yourself out loud to her. Talk about the things you love and enjoy. Don't talk about yourself. She is not worthy of that. That is for a close male friend if at all.

Occasionally be unexpectedly thoughtful. Give her a cupcake with your names on it. Pick her a flower. Tiny expressions like this, devoid of any verbal affection and followed immediately by a return to the relatively aloof and stoic frame, can pierce a woman's heart with an emotional snag that sparks a deeper kind of attraction and love.

Be in charge of goodbyes. Initiate departures most of the time. If she says she should probably get going, immediately comply with a smile. Always appear comfortable leaving.

Touch her. You are entitled to her body. It's your toy for you to play with and enjoy. Assume this right as early as possible, beginning with benign physical contact and quickly escalating. It's her responsibility to protect herself from unwanted physical affection, not yours to guess how much affection she is comfortable with. Her restricting your access is funny, always. Acting butt-hurt about being rejected is tremendously unattractive.

Regularly temporarily withdraw from initiating any physical affection. Find that you're touching her first a lot? Withdraw for 15 minutes to an hour. Don't refuse her touch, just abstain from initiating it. She may not notice this consciously but subconsciously it can trigger a slightly oxytocin deficiency that will clue her into how much she needs you.

Sex should consist of her acting in submission to you. In bed, she is a rag doll, a slave. Exercise complete dominion over your woman in bed. The only limits to your alpha expression in bed should be legal ones. Don't be an English farmer, be a Viking pillager.

Obligatory: Lift 3x week, keep a top-tier haircut, wear good clothes (if you have no idea where to start, just go to H&M and Urban Outfitters).

Ditch all processed foods. Eat as clean as possible. This will improve every aspect of your life immediately. If you need to ween off processed foods, start with clean breakfasts, then add clean lunches, etc. No added sugar, no corn syrup. Buy natural ingredients and learn to enjoy simple home-cooked meals.

Meditate. Just do it. Meditate every day. If you don't know where to start, sit down somewhere, close your eyes, and count your breaths to 100. Tame your mind.

Cut out all porn. It's time to put that away. Fantasizing is for teenagers.

Experiment with abstaining from masturbation. Shoot for one week and observe the cognitive and hormonal effects. Everyone is different but many people find that abstaining dramatically increases social confidence and energy. This has been my experience. YMMV.

Usually wait at least 10 minutes before responding to a text. If you're hanging out waiting to receive a text on your phone, at least pretend you're not.

Don't use smiley faces, exclamation marks, or laughing ("haha," "lol).

Send less words to her than she is to you. Count them. Additionally, a text should be less than 8 words.

At least 75% of texts sent to her should be unserious, witty, flirtatious, teasing. Texting is for entertainment, not meaningful relationship-building.

Before sending a text, ask yourself this question regarding the text: "Could an idiot have written this text?" Don't say things like "How are you?" Don't ask her about her day. Tie in a previous bit of information in a witty way. Stimulate your woman's mind in a way that other people can't.

Never discuss feelings or emotions via text. Your sincere thoughts are probably too meaningful and sacred to even be communicated verbally to your woman, let alone put into a cheap text.

Err on the side of less texting. Regularly fail completely to respond or acknowledge her texts, including questions that seem important to her. You love her, but you love yourself more and you have a life to attend to.

Furthermore, occasionally ignore her for periods of time ranging from 12 to 48 hours. Two days of radio silence, unexplained, will increase attraction from a woman who is already has feelings for you. For a long-term relationship, 24 hours may be sufficient. I promise you that causing your girlfriend emotional pain by occasionally ignoring her for an uncomfortable 24 hours will directly result in more attraction, not less.

If you are a hopelessly beta, bottom of the barrel male, I recommend shocking your system by committing yourself to a couple of days of solitude in the wilderness. Buy some gear and go into the wilderness for a couple of days with food and water. Avoid trails, climb mountains, get lost, take some risks. If this seems unnecessary or dangerous, you are still psychologically a child.

Don't forget the proper font on your business card. Silian Rail.

[–]razor5151 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Doesn't matter, my card has a subtle off-white color, and tasteful thickness.

[–][deleted] 25 points26 points  (2 children)

[–]starvinmarvin30 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Greatest scene in the movie imo. Everyone always looks at me like I'm retarded when that scene comes on cuz I'm the only one laughing..they just don't get it I guess.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It takes a certain kind of person to catch all the humor in American Psycho.

[–][deleted] 181 points182 points  (25 children)

i feel so alpha counting words in texts to make sure i dont put as many words in?

edit this was a popular comment with lots of replies I just wanted to say its indicative of the fundamental flaw in the rp theory... alphas do not do something for any reason other than they want too.

making rules and keeping a mental check list of what is alpha... is essentially not alpha.

[–]sefmz 204 points205 points  (2 children)

[deleted]

What is this?

[–]HocusDaber 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Show that you are in charge of situations! And just don't charge up your phone to 100%. This will get their battery juice really flowing

[–]rlaine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goddamn how funny that was.

[–]DossSayss 67 points68 points  (9 children)

yeah some people on here go overboard with the rules. just chill. do whatever you want, wack off and reply back immediately. just learn from the experience if you get results you don't like...either adjust them to better suit your goal or drop them altogether. all this absolute shit...like 8 words... is someone playing around in daddy's clothes. grow up

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

reply back immediately

I reply back as soon as I have time. When I'm doing somthing different, I will finish doing that. But if I just finished doing something (or am about to start something longer) I will reply immediately.

I honestly have better things to do than waiting 10minutes before I am "allowed" to reply. If you actually have the time to wait that's more of a problem. You should not sit on your ass waiting for something and if you have an active enough life you will be often enough in situations where you will reply "late".

[–][deleted] 20 points20 points

[permanently deleted]

[–]rpscrote 6 points7 points  (1 child)

all this absolute shit...like 8 words... is someone playing around in daddy's clothes. grow up

It's a tips and tricks thread. It gives you shortcuts which simply embody greater principles.

If you can't see "reply in 8 words" means "your time is more valuable and you should indicate this," then you probably still need to use tips and tricks.

[–]DossSayss -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

lmao tips and tricks. shut the fuck up, this isn't a video game. simply learn from experience that's all their is to it. sure your time is valuable and you should indicate that but what if you do it in a way that comes of cheesy/beta, you just have to do it, learn from it, and not repeat the same mistake

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I'm walking down the street and I see a guy having stating contests with everyone, I just assume that this guy cares way too much about asserting dominance.

Part of being the alpha you is being comfortable with yourself.

[–]osborne_cox 2 points3 points  (1 child)

just chill. do whatever you want, wack off and reply back immediately

I'm speechless. You're on a sub that focuses on in depth analyses of how to self improve and get women and this is the best you can muster up?

If you think it's that simple, you're sorely mistaken. If you're thinking to yourself, "I'm successful, and it is this simple," I urge you to look deeper. Chances are, it's just because a lot of alpha behavior comes natural to you.

Alpha behaviors become "simple" and natural after you've practiced them for a long period of time. These are suggestions for adding more alpha behaviors to your repertoire.. If you see something that runs contrary to your experience, disregard it. But I wouldn't disregard something solely based on the fact that there's too many rules.

[–]DossSayss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol natural. i appreciate the compliment but i've been in love with trial and error and really it is simple. limiting yourself with rules is an unnecessary step when you haven't even discovered why someone would make the rule in the first place nahmean ?

if someone tells you the shrimp is gross as a matter of fact, you'd take their word for it ? it seems simple that you should try the shrimp for yourself and form your own opinion that either agrees concurs or disagrees with their "fact. "

having all these rules when people are just starting it is limiting your potential. learn them for yourself before you take someone else's words

[–]venicerocco 32 points33 points  (0 children)

OMG that last text was nine words sorry lol ;0)

[–]PlebDestroyer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You do realize that he prefaced his post with faking it till you make it right?

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (4 children)

I think they are teaching the effect, not the cause. You should aspire to be a man who doesn't want to text a lot like a teenage girl, but they don't know how to say that so they just say "text with few words".

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (3 children)

its just the fundamental flaw in the theory... alphas do not do something for any reason other than they want too.

so making rules and keeping a mental check list of what is alpha... is essentially not alpha.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

alphas do not do something for any reason other than they want too.

They don't keep a list to remind them to not text the girl all the time, but what OP is trying to say is that alphas don't want to text girls all the time to begin with and for people who are learning this a mental check list helps with the fake until you make it, because it's damn near impossible to convey the internal state of a person through words, you convey their external behavior so the person reading it learn for herself what the internal state is

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

fake it until you make it would be... do what you want and do not care about what people think as much as you can... not make a list and obsess about it. no?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if you're a wussy doing what you want means telling a girl you love her on the first date, chasing her, calling her all the time and if you do this doesn't matter if you're doing what you want and not caring what other people think, you're still a wussy.

[–]PlanB_pedofile 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Text that bitch a Smiley Face. Bitches love smiley faces.

[–]HS-Thompson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The rules are for people who don't have good instincts yet.

Counting words can be a good tactic to develop habits such that you can internalize the behavior and do it naturally in the future.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have something longer to say you should call and not waste your time texting like a teenage girl.

[–]sexygorilla 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I strongly disagree. Doing things solely because you want to is just laziness and selfishness. Improving yourself dramatically cannot and should not be easy. For the greatest people that exist and have existed, everything was a calculated, necessary move. You are just basing your game on luck as opposed to strategy.

You dont have to 'keep a mental check list of what is alpha' you have to optimise yourself by deliberately doing certain things, gauging the response and proceeding from there. OPs post was actually very insightful - attention to detail works INCREDIBLY well with women (and men, but women actually notice it consciously, usually). The kind of subtly involved in counting the words in your texts will merely translate as 'hmm he doesnt say much, mysterious, i wonder.. etc' and it will force you to only say things that you want to convey, using as few words as possible. On the surface it is an easy thing to trivialise, but in reality doing subtle things like this until you dont have to think about doing them anymore makes a lot of difference.

So yeah; I strongly disagree.

[–]Shai_Huluds_asshole 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wilderness trips benefit you in so many ways it's ridiculous

  • you get to see amazing landscapes, ecosystems, animals etc
  • it makes for good stories and makes you an interesting person
  • you will learn how to survive, back to basics
  • you can do it with friends or girl together

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Good stuff.

Always keep an open posture. Never cross your arms or so much as clasp them at their hands. It's made a huge difference in my life.

Remove the word sorry from your vocabulary.

[–]Venomroach 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a Canadian sorry is a hard thing to remove.

[–][deleted] 35 points36 points  (5 children)

I'd like to amend the nevery text a smiley face point. They're highly effective of you say something REALLY outlandish that needs to be seen as a joke. Like really brash shit.

[–]-Awake- 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Check out CH's emoji game post, it goes into the dos/don't of this nicely

Edit: I'd link this, but links are pretty no no here at TRP. His "emoji game" is basically only using obscure emojis in outlandish or ridiculous circumstances to spin the hamster. His favorite seems to be the "cat with the birthday cake" emote you can find on facebook. Happy googling

[–]frink84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

link?

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Got a link? I find emojis are high risk high reward.

[–]Tfsr92 5 points6 points  (1 child)

There are many constants in this post. We should all know that this isn't a world of constants, and there are exceptions to almost every rule. Gotta admit, "lol, haha, :)" is going to look weak most of the time when you text it

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never use :), always gotta be a :P

[–]HS-Thompson 226 points227 points  (96 children)

This is an excellent post, absolutely top notch.

Although as a NYC resident over the age of 30 I would say you'll have to step your clothing game beyond H&M or Urban Outfitters if either of those two things apply to you.

[–]Zenonlite 9 points9 points [recovered]

Which stores would you recommend? I don't live in NYC, but I plan on getting a job there soon.

[–]BowlOfCandy 12 points13 points  (3 children)

Depends on your physical frame. Check out Express, Zara, & Uniqlo, get key nice items at Nordstrom Rack. Nothing wrong with getting plenty of staple/base items at H&M, but invest good money into the key items (peacoats, dress shirts, shoes)

[–]yarbroughwalter 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Brooks Brothers, Orvis, L.L. Bean, Patagonia

[–]epixs 22 points23 points  (16 children)

Brooks brothers is a start.

[–]Heizenbrg 5 points6 points  (15 children)

How much you make?

[–]Jamtastic1 14 points15 points  (10 children)

Brooks Brothers isn't that bad... Their suits are certainly expensive, but their shirts and pants are affordable, especially if you don't buy an entire wardrobe in one visit.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (8 children)

Or do. Save up and apply for a credit card same day. On large purchases you can sometimes get 60% off or more, particularly on a sale.

[–]SPESHALBEAMCANNON 19 points20 points  (7 children)

you wanna go in debt to buy clothing? Be fiscally responsible and don't listen to this guy.

edit: didn't see where he wrote save up. my bad

[–][deleted] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

He's saying you open a store credit card for the discount then pay it off when you get home. I did it for a suit.

[–]Endorsed ContributorrebuildingMyself 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What's wrong with taking advantage of the huge discounts for signing up for the card, paying the full balance, then cutting up the card?

[–]IllicitG 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I... believe he mentioned to save up first? Obviously implying that he had the money to pay the credit card off.

[–]flyingwolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How is saving up to buy what you want and opening a credit card possibly going into debt?

[–]1sailorJery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

utilizing credit doesn't mean going into debt

[–]Corndog_Enthusiast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it is wise to avoid using credit cards, there are some benefits to them. The rule of thumb here is to not buy anything that you couldn't afford to pay for in cash. If you can afford to buy it in cash and the card offers a discounted price, then I see no harm in using the card for that single, specific purpose as long as you pay it off immediately.

[–]PlebDestroyer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Brooks Brothers isn't that bad

Brooks shirts are for the masses.

Ascot Chang, Turnbull & Asser, and Paul Stuart are good choices, just to name a few.

[–]BowsNToes21 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Try an upscale second hand store. They have quality standards and the shirts look brand new at the third of the cost.

[–]Heizenbrg 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Only one I know of is Buffalo Exchange or Crossroads, and it's not upscale

[–]BowsNToes21 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I would try doing a Google search because in all likelihood it will be a place you have never heard of since they're not typically chain stores. The one I go to in my town is a small store called Second Looks which has only two locations in Texas.

[–]Heizenbrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah you're in Texas thought you knew stores in NYC, I'll take a look thanks.

[–][deleted] 17 points18 points  (4 children)

Vancouver.
Suits when appropriate (also depends on job) Club Monaco, Topman, Banana Republic for casual outfits.

[permanently deleted]

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean off the rack suits fit you?

[–]PlebDestroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed but if you're not wearing a suit, you want to err on the side of 'edgy'. H&M and Urban can help you achieve that.

[–]blacwidonsfw 37 points38 points  (14 children)

Zara, American express, banana republic, nordstroms.

[–]RedbullF1 41 points42 points  (5 children)

American Express

I think you mean American Apparel

[–]Detox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy fuck, that's the hardest I've laughed all day.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Express is excellent quality for the price point. Their dress pants fit as if tailored if your patient enough to find the right set.

[–]DMCer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

American Apparel if you want to look like a broke hipster. The rest are good.

[–]Gadnuk_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm a student and the nordstrom rack keeps me in high quality designer shit for a very reasonable price.

[–]rpwunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calvin Klein works for me. Classic American Design.

[–]austinator414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

K. Thanks. Commenting here to save

[–]shuritsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American Express

Haha nice slip. Don't worry though, my best friend went shopping with me for shirts one time, he mistakenly called Banana Republic "Banana Express". Lols were had.

[–]FelixTheLeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gap, fossil, lacoste have good shit as well

[–]autoNFA 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Charles Tyrwhytt has some nice shirts for reasonable prices.

[–]gotgame740 1 point2 points  (2 children)

This. Found out about their dress shirts a few months ago, now I have ten of them. Never buying express dress shirts again lol. When they have sales, the process can be as low as 30 a shirt (same price I usually pay at express)

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Are they better quality? I'm not familiar with the brand. Possibly because I'm on the west coast.

[–]gotgame740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

much better quality than express. they're based in London, which is probably why you never heard of them. I hadn't either until my brother told me. check out their website, you can see what kind of stuff they have

[–]CD_Johanna 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Express for men. Absolutely no to that hipster garbage at UO.

[–]tyranus89 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely no to most of the stuff at Express... Way too flashy and guido-esque, and covered in outrageous designs and logos.

[–]SunshineBlotters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you live in a large fashion city go straight to the store of the brand. For instance if you like APC, go to the APC store, if you like Burberry, go straight to the Burberry store. Otherwise you can check their websites

If you dont have specialized stores you should still have stores like Barney's, Nordstrom, and Sak's Fifth. They usually have a large variety of clothing. This depends on your location. Nordstrom in Illiburbs is nowhere near as good as the Nordstroms in Chicago.

Off season shopping for items you do not currently need is highly encouraged. Almost all stores have an end of season sale and you can score items for up 50% off or more. Be careful with that tactic since popular clothing items could be sold out long before then. But you should always be able to find something you like in a sale.

I've scored a dope Micheal Kors Peacoat for a huge discount at Ross and my friend got the Balmain biker jeans on a huge discount at TJ Max. This will only work if you live in or by a large metropolitan area. Otherwise avoid those stores as nothing good comes from them.

[–]HS-Thompson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're in NYC you can't beat Century 21 for actually nice stuff on a budget. It's like what Nordstrom Rack or Marshalls or whatever would be if they were New York centered and awesome. The flagship store across from the WTC is a goldmine.

The other obvious suggestion is Uniqlo. Pretty much everything they have there is subtle and stylish and very well made for the price. You can stock up on staples there and then mix and match with more unique stuff you find elsewhere.

When you have the funds to afford it, the next level up is Barneys. If you can afford to walk in there and stock your wardrobe off their racks just do it. They do have some outlets and sales that are pretty solid also for those who can't quite swing it yet.

[–]justgrif -2 points-1 points  (5 children)

Check out /r/malefashionadvice for some good advice, or at least some decent jumping off points.

[–]Solitary_Wolf 8 points8 points [recovered]

i work in a tailors. half the guys there are talking through their arseholes.

on top of that, its american centred 'fashion' which is very unfashionable here in europe.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hugo Boss is the way to go, not super expensive, but still by high quality.

[–]Heizenbrg -2 points-1 points  (8 children)

UNIQLO all the way!
Zara US sucks, our Zara in Europe is better, so don't go there.
American Eagle also has very quality stuff.
Other than that check out /r/malefashionadvice, they have a map in the sidebar with all the good stores to check out.

[–]Heizenbrg -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Well who cares what they think!
AE is very popular outside of Europe.

[–]cascadecombo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In America too, AE isn't so well seen past college for sure.

[–]BANAL_QUEEN -1 points0 points  (1 child)

All due respect, those people don't know what the fuck they're talking about. AE has been trimming the fat recently, dialing back branding, etc. Most of the time no one will even know you're wearing AE, they'll just think you look good.

[–]Kolbykilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think this mostly pertains to the gody graphic t shirts they have.

[–]SunshineBlotters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

American Eagle also has very quality stuff.

If you are over 17 dont touch AE with a 10 foot pole

[–]Cthulu2013 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Uniqlo won't fit anyone with a respectable build. Shit is for lanky highschool kids

[–]Heizenbrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why they are opening stores elsewhere to fit European size.

[–]sirpsycho3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the website us.asos.com/ has good stuff for cheap(and expensive)

[–]1Sergnb 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Anyone here knows good european examples? Half of the stores mentioned here dont exist in my region and half of the ones that do seem to be drastically different from their american version (like zara)

[–]someguysomewhere321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can order online from Uniqlo and Zara. The Zaras I have been to in Europe all had decent stuff, albeit shitty quality for the price (their shoes don't last).

You can have a look at http://eu.topman.com/ , http://www.asos.com and https://www.zalando.co.uk/men-home as well.

Yeah i used to laugh at people who rode h&m, because it was generic and cheap. I dont care anymore because im older and dont judge but yeah... Get familiar with soho find your niche of atyle and make it work

[–]winnnnnnnnn -2 points-1 points  (4 children)

Nothing wrong with H&M or Urban Outfitters but then again I spent a ton of time on fashion forums and blogs as a teen. You just have to know your aesthetic and body type. Zara is great by the way as far as cheap and stylish goes. Stay the fuck away from express save that for italian chicks coming in from L.I. on the LIRR and the exchange student who just needed a slightly too big button down for the bar. Uniqlo is great to and does capsule collections with high fashion designers or they did at one point. Same with H&M but honestly they're getting rekt'd buy zara and uniqlo. Slightly higher but for sure stylish price points would be both Acne and A.P.C. top stuff fucking swedes are good at everything lol. At the very least get a pair of jeans from APC if you can. Definitely won't regret it. Also I agree with some of the snarkier comments made here if your not naturally skinny low body fat then some of uniqlo and zara I just came off the run way or I'm attending fashion week bullshit may not be for you lol. In which case just were affliction shirts. I have no idea how super buff dudes pick out clothes and I'm scared I'll have to give up on some of the euro fag fits if I get too big. Guess I'll have an answer for that when my deadlift is north of 400+ but even then I'll probably only be 175 tops lol.

[–]HS-Thompson 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Please, for the sake of all that is tasteful and holy, do never wear an affliction shirt.

[–][deleted] 69 points70 points  (39 children)

You left out body language:

  • Chin up always

  • Never put your hands in your pockets

  • Move slowly and with purpose

  • Eye contact with every person that walks by and never break contact first

[–][deleted] 69 points70 points  (14 children)

With eye contact, I usually only do this with pretty girls. I used to do it with everyone but kept on getting in death stare contests with other guys and had to break it with a smile or something or I would have got in a fight. Maybe I live in a shady area. Don't get me wrong, I make lot's of eye contact and definitely eye contact strongly with anything I like. But no need to go round getting in to eye wars with societal scumbags right?

[–]AnkhofRa 71 points72 points  (1 child)

sort of unrelated but I was at a poker table a few nights ago and this middle-aged dude who looked like he was bossing everyone kept staring people down. Being the new guy at the table I could feel him doing it to me too. so I said to myself fuck it it's on, and stared his ass down immediately the next time i felt it (we weren't in a hand at all). didn't even blink. must have been at least 20 seconds of raw staring and chip shuffling. 20 sec doesn't seem like a long time, but it is. he eventually looked away and I felt like a goddamn thug, all thanks to you fools.

[–]starvinmarvin30 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Cue in "thug life" music after you won that staredown..

[–]frequentlywrong 27 points28 points  (4 children)

Man-to-man prolonged eye contact is a threatening gesture. You honestly didnt know that?

[–]GC0W30 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Dad always told me if you lock eyes with someone for more than 30 seconds you either need to kiss them or punch them next......

[–][deleted] 16 points17 points  (6 children)

If it is obvious that the guy isn't going to look away then just say "How's it going" and keep walking

[–]iSnORtcHuNkz69 8 points9 points  (3 children)

If you state death each other then you go ahead first and say hey yo what's up how's it going. As if you know the person in a casual buddy way.

[–]tubameister 16 points17 points  (2 children)

and if they try to pick a fight just say they look like someone you know

[–]fhghg 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I could swear I saw you on grinder!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smooth, got to keep the smile going, and acknowledge the challenge too.

[–]1theoctopuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A simple head nod works as well.

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points  (10 children)

I've asked this question on theredpill before but never gotten a good answer: I go to university, and probably walk past a thousand people a day - am I supposed to stare down every fucking person I walk past?

[–]DuskVision 44 points45 points  (2 children)

Assert your Dominance. Eye-Fuck all thousand of them, male, female, or other.

No on a serious note walk with purpose. Eye's focused on where your headed but when you catch eyes with people be the last to break contact, practice throwing in smirks and making things seem casual. Don't be the weird timid guy who stares at people like he hasn't ever seen other humans though.

[–]mrihatelabels 1 points1 points [recovered]

So the 'I'm too cool for you I'm not going to make eye contact with anyone' route isn't the way to go? I've been walking back straight, head up, and looking straight ahead for ages now - I'll hold eye contact if people look at me, but I wear sunglasses all the time so I doubt they can tell.

I wouldn't say I 'avoid' eye contact, I just don't acknowledge people when I walk past them unless I know them.

[–]DuskVision 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well the goal is to interact and impact people. "Too cool for school" gets hamstered into 'wanna be bad boy' pretty easily while making eye contact let's you open for approaches and Day Game.

[–]HocusDaber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about death staredowns, it's more about not trying to actively avoid eye contact. A staredown is stupid.

Just Be comfortable looking people in the eyes.

[–]PlanB_pedofile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sigh.... your eyes should be focused on your goal and destination. Never at the ground, never at the sky, and if a woman catches your fancy, she is now your new goal.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it seems like a lot of work, that's because eye contact is still uncomfortable for you. Practice until it no longer unnerves you.

[–]epixs -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

Am also a university student, just maintain eye contact with whomever you pass by if you happen to see them also looking at you. If I'm walking down a pathway and someone else is walking also, I usually look at them in the eyes until they look down. Another way is just looking to the side instead of down if you happen to get in to long of an eye contact situation. Most of the idiots at my college are walking with their hands in their pockets, looking down, and ear phones- completely losers.

[–]kazizza 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That makes them losers? You're a moron. Enjoy!

[–]HonestyReigns -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just don't worry about it, look where you want to look. That will likely be quite a few people's faces, when they notice and look back hold it until they break.

Serious eye contact is like playing chicken when everyone is on a bike, let them know you're a train.

[–]kevkos 14 points15 points  (3 children)

"Never put your hands in your pockets"

Ha! Even when getting your keys out? Silly.

[–][deleted] 65 points66 points  (2 children)

Your driver should be opening your doors for you

[–]RosewoodPill 5 points6 points  (1 child)

I have lived in a major urban centre for 10 years and never ever look at guys. Not in the streets or in the clubs. They are invisible to me and you should really learn to take that approach. I only see women.

[–]Cant_Tell_Me_Nothin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is why stare contests seem childish to me. If I'm walking, it means that i have a purpose and I am going somewhere. I don't have time to be locking eyes with people for prolonged times when my focus is something bigger. To me it feels that if I accidentally lock eyes with someone while I am walking, and I break it because I don't have time for that, and if they keep looking at me, it just shows that they put too much importance on my presence. They are too irrelevant to my purpose to be locked in a stare down. I will acknowledge them at least but only if I need to.

Do you think a King has time to be locked in a stare-down with a peasant? No, most likely he will just look past him.

[–]Endorsed ContributorTheRedPilsner 6 points7 points  (3 children)

Never put your hands in your pockets

I live in the Rocky Mountains. Even Chad Thundercock puts his hands in his pockets on a cold winter day here.

But the rest of the time. Yeah, keep your hands out of your damn pockets. It makes you look nervous and uncomfortable. But instead of letting them just hang at your side doing nothing a good thing is to stick your thumbs in your pockets but keep the rest of your fingers out and slightly curled, pointing at your crotch. It makes you look both relaxed and confident.

[–]ContinentalRP 12 points13 points  (1 child)

But instead of letting them just hang at your side doing nothing a good thing is to stick your thumbs in your pockets but keep the rest of your fingers out and slightly curled, pointing at your crotch. It makes you look both relaxed and confident.

You get laughed at for doing that here, "who's this fucking cowboy".

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Then let them laugh, why would you give a fuck about their opinion? Don't be afraid to stand out.

[–]starvinmarvin30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One hand in your pocket is ok though. You have to own it as well.

[–]Corndog_Enthusiast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your eye contact rule is ridiculous; make eye contact, but never hold it for unnatural amounts of time. You'll either come off as aggressive (aggressive =\= alpha), genuinely creepy, or a try-hard. Keep it natural. Alphas don't need to eyeball people into submission; normal eye contact should be used just enough to show confidence. A smile or nod should be used to break eye contact so you aren't perceived as "looking at them funny". Try your little eyeball-fucking technique in a bad area, you'll soon find yourself in a fight.

[–]kevkos 51 points52 points  (8 children)

"Usually wait at least 10 minutes before responding to a text."

Game-playing PUA bullshit.

[–]The_Floating_Dick 14 points15 points  (1 child)

Which doesn't work anyway. If you never respond within 10 minutes - it will seem weird. It's statistically unlikely that there isn't a single instance of you receiving a text, when you can actually immediately respond and she'll eventually come to realize you're doing it on purpose.

If you respond immediately from time to time - it gives more weight to your delayed replies. Also I wouldn't even bother trying to control this - respond whenever you feel like it, just make sure you don't respond immediately every time.

[–]disposable_pants 4 points5 points  (4 children)

If you're texting back immediately and she's texting back at her leisure, you're doing something wrong.

The phrasing here (usually) makes it clear that this is a guideline, not absolute rule, and the guideline is spot on -- don't make it look like her text is all that important to you, even if it is. I don't see anything bullshit about this.

[–]kevkos 0 points1 point  (3 children)

It's still playing games. Text back whenever you feel like it. If that happens to be miliseconds after she texts, have the confidence to know you are not needy and own it.

[–]disposable_pants 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I don't think playing games or not playing games is the best way to look at it. I'd view it as: Does it work or not work? Texting back quick occasionally works fine, but texting back quick too much won't.

[–]kevkos 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It's more important to simply be authentic than to time your texts.

[–]disposable_pants -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only if "authentic" equals "attractive" at that moment. If you need a shoulder to cry on you shouldn't text a plate that because she'll view you differently, and if you're thinking about a plate all the time you're better off being a bit more cagey in your texts as you don't want to come on too strong.

[–]Imapancakenom 25 points26 points  (9 children)

Sex should consist of her acting in submission to you. In bed, she is a rag doll, a slave.

Most of the time, sure, but I gotta say sometimes I love laying on my back, clasping my hands behind my head, saying "ride me and get yourself off" and just relaxing while I enjoy the show.

[–][deleted] 38 points39 points  (0 children)

You're still the boss during that too.

[–]metalc2 5 points6 points  (5 children)

There's also the fact that 30% of men have predominately submissive sexual fantasies. That doesn't mean they're submissive outside the bedroom, just inside. Why should those men have to do something they don't enjoy sexually?

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Theres a big difference from being physically submissive and emotionally submissive. Having a girl do all the brunt work while you lie back and enjoy it is maybe physically submissive but definitely emotionally dominant.

[–]metalc2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, a lot of men are emotionally submissive. I'm a switch, so I can enjoy being dominant or submissive, but a lot of men are entirely submissive. They're pretty left out in the modern world.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (1 child)

[–]Heizenbrg 91 points92 points  (19 children)

Never discuss your feelings or emotions. Just don't. Holding her hand in silence or hugging her warmly is all she needs. Do not betray your inner emotional life to a woman's fickle ears.

I don't agree with this is if you're in a long-term relationship. Short-term of course, don't waste your time talking about your shit when you'd better spend it fucking her.
You'll need to open up to her from time to time, not the same way you do to your parents or a buddy of yours mind you, but show some emotion or otherwise she will question your commitment, which you should not interpret as some kind of shit test. Just my 2 cents bros.

[–]Senior ContributorSkorchZang 49 points50 points  (5 children)

It's a subtle thing that needs individual case-by-case consideration... but in general, far better to undernourish her comfort needs than to overdo it and kill her attraction, which is fueled by the very uncomfortable uncertainty that you're supposed to save her from by gushing about true feelings. BP upbringing predisposes a man to heavily overdoing it, without even realizing that's what's happening.

If she's questioning your commitment, that's GOOD for "the relationship".

[–]1Halfjor 3 points4 points  (3 children)

I agree with you on this.

My take on the "not discussing emotion" is to keep it rare. If you want to drop a little conversation about your feelings on something then frame it so it accentuates your alpha-ness. Even if its just bullshit and you do actually feel very upset or anything that would disgust your average girl.

Some would say it's manipulative but that's how you play the game if you want to be successful.

If you want to discuss your real emotions talk to your family or one of your best friends.

[–][deleted] 1 points1 points

[permanently deleted]

[–]1Halfjor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

wait, you go running to mom dad or bro/sis, or friends if you're feeling sad, or stressed, etc??

Running to? I don't go "running" to anyone when I feel sad or stressed. I'm not talking about bullshit emotional stuff. If I'm stressed or worried because of something serious like a future career path then fuck yes I'm going to give my dad a call. Fuck the ultra alpha male mentality of that being childish. My dad raised me and helped teach me how to be a man. He's not a guy I need to impress or worry about some sort of impression I make on him. I would much rather talk to him than my siblings, since I only have sisters.

And guy friends? I've had some of my best friends since kindergarten, 2/3 of my current roommates actually (college). I don't put on a veil of over alpha-ness to cultivate an image for how they see me. I'm not a naturally emotionally unstable person, so if some shit is going wrong I have no problem talking about it with some friends. I've hung out with friends after bad breakups (oneitis) talked to them about it, and by the end of the night got laid, had a great time, all that shit, because my friends forced me to come out with them and got me in a good mood. Good friends can give you some solid man talk. They'll definitely let you know if you're all fucked up over something stupid (like a girl), and they can give you solid feedback if it's something serious. Granted I'm extremely fortunate to have close friends like that, because I wouldn't be emotionally open towards people I didn't know well. It isn't crying and moping and all that, you can talk about something that has you feeling bad towards good friends without sounding like a bitch. I'd do the same shit for them.

I probably have at least 6-7 good guy friends I would talk to before I opened up too much to a girl I was with at the time.

[–]TurduckenII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most people aren't going to get a therapist so there is absolutely nothing wrong in talking with your girl. Just don't be a whiny bitch.

You're quite right in that this is possible in the context of an LTR/Marriage. Let's say that you're having trouble in your life somehow, school/work, professional, personal, etc. This isn't everyday frustrations, this is something that actually affects your functioning and will be noticed either way. One thing I've learned is that it's best to come to your girl first if you're going to do it, rather than wait for her to ask if something's wrong or bring it up in the midst of something else.

Open up with something like, "hey, so lately I've been down/angry/ because such-and-such has been going on, it's thrown me for a loop, but I'm handling it. Seeing a counselor/punching a bag/writing a journal has been helping. Just thought I'd let you know."

It displays confidence that you aren't afraid to talk about your feelings in the context of functionality. If you know that you're not performing so well or feeling down, let her know that you are aware, and how you're handling it. It shows that you are dedicated to working with both your and her life. That you handle your emotions like you handle a car's engine, where occasional tune ups keep it running well and not grinding gears. Fear of your own emotions and repression displays almost as much wimpiness as being controlled by them and whining about them.

DO NOT confuse this with wanting reassurance, venting to her, bitching to her or about her, or wanting her to make you feel better or fill a void within yourself. BP men think that "sharing their feelings" means using your SO as a therapist, an emotional tampon, or emotional punching bag whenever they want. That their SO will accept them for their true feelings, and that they should share every last bit of themselves.

Don't come to her asking her to make you feel better. Try to handle it yourself, but if you need to then ask for her help in functionality. YOU are in charge of making yourself feel better.

[–]1KyfhoMyoba 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I don't agree with this is if you're in a long-term relationship

It's true ESPECIALLY if you're in a LTR. You can show some emotion, just be absolutely certain to NEVER SHOW WEAKNESS. If you got to get chemo or something, KEEP HER AWAY. She won't support you anyway, and when she smells your weakness, she'll turn on you in a heartbeat.

[–]Dronitto 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Fuck, then why the hell you need a woman in your life, if she cant even support you, lol.

[–]instayoloswag 2 points2 points [recovered]

As someone pretty new to all of this (just turned 18), how much has it compromised my chances if I have talked about feelings or emotions with a girl that I've known for a long time, but have only recently become interested in?

[–]Heizenbrg 22 points23 points  (3 children)

Hate to brake it to you, but you may have already lost if you were orbiting around her.
What was her reaction?

[–]instayoloswag 3 points3 points [recovered]

She reciprocated with a lot more emotional crap than me, I tried to salvage it once I realized by getting her to talk about herself and her issues.

But I appreciate your bluntness. I have some (very limited) experience with girls that were 22+, and girls in high school are very different - we'll see what happens.

[–]the10thrider 15 points16 points  (0 children)

College girls, high school girls, etc. all girls are the same. Just the older ones are now fighting time and emotional baggage so they tend to move things along quicker and with less teenage angst.

I'm afraid if she's reciprocating with you it's already too late. Emotional reciprocation is something that women do with other women, and even they're sometimes disingenuous about it. Especially if she's talking about her dating life, etc. As in, she already thinks of you as a girlfriend, and she (probably) isn't attracted to her girlfriends.

If you're developing feelings for this girl, it'll only get worse over time; it's time to cut contact or become emotionally distant. Don't explain. Don't ever explain why, she doesn't need/want to know. This is about self preservation.

Develop yourself, for yourself. Do the things that interest you and become passionate and good at them. Live your life with purpose. Then if she happens to come into your life in the future you'll be better equipped and more secure in yourself that you won't have to ask an anonymous internet forum how to be an attractive guy to teenage girls.

[–]sendenten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll be fine if you disregard everything in this post. Especially the part about being entitled to her body.

Fucking act like yourself. If you really want to be with someone, don't put on an act. The moment they see through the act is the moment they leave you. Be honest from the start.

[–]BlaiseDB -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Might not be fatal if you alpha-up enough to give her the tingles. My first serious GF was a friend of my sister, and the two of us friend-zoned each other for year. Then I went away with the army reserve for a summer to be trained by the airborne and came back buff. Meanwhile she had cleaned herself up. When I returned in the fall I went to visit my mom and sister and the girl was there. Within a week we were all over each other and that played out for a 3-1/2 year relationship that almost ended in marriage.

[–]Shai_Huluds_asshole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You showing commitment is nice for her but really what do you get out of it?

[–]-Johnny- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of these only apply to short term fuck buddies or if your just getting into the game.

[–]Cryocasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would only do this once I sense that I have gained the trust in her that she wouldn't take it as a beta manifestation.

I would have to be sure that she is capable of handling whatever I say and then supporting me back in return, a behaviour you can more or less only expect from a RPW.

[–]MLMIKE39 26 points27 points  (16 children)

Good post, but I'd avoid H&M and Urban Outfitters if we're really talking about "good clothes".

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Good is relative though.

If you're literally starting from where a lot of guys are, buying a bunch of $7 shirts that actually fit from H&M is a really easy option that will make you look twice as good immediately.

[–]denmaur 5 points6 points  (13 children)

What would you suggest instead?

[–]Die-In-A-Fire 21 points22 points  (3 children)

If you have no clue, start with J crew. They have everything you would need for any situation. Build outwards from there but they are perfectly serviceable for basics. I like uniqlo for casual shirting also, mainly due to fit and quality to price ratio.

[–]rugratsallthrowedup 16 points16 points [recovered]

|quality to price ratio

"value"

I used to say that out loud until my friend, PhD in Econ told me: You know that's just value, right? Helluva woman.

[–]UncharminglyWitty 0 points1 point  (1 child)

There's a lot more to "value" than quality and price if you really want to get into those semantics. Most consumers wouldn't notice the other aspects of "value" until they're absent. Inventory levels would be one example - does the store have what I want when I show up? Surprisingly underrated piece of value. Every item can be priced cheaper with lower inventory levels. It would just be near impossible to show up to the store at the correct time to purchase the high quality, cheap item.

[–]rugratsallthrowedup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair. I'm not argue all the minutiae here but reductively "value" covers the highlights in this situation without getting wordy. Everything that can be explained, or is a statement in general, has lurking variables behind it.

[–]1jb_trp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nordstrom Rack. If you're in good shape, buy shirts with a modern fit. Seem should be right on the shoulder. Buy pants that fit (hug your waist without a belt, don't drag on the floor). Darker jeans, not light.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Brooks Brothers. LL Bean. J Crew. Cremieux. Banana Republic.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

This. All my work clothes are BB and I am the sharpest dressed motherfucka in the office. Shoes by cole haan. Penny bit loafers all the way, I see the girls drooling.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Veering strongly into traditional territory, but J Press and Paul Stuart will really impress. Among the people who know a fair amount about nice things, Brooks Brothers is seen as a solid standard: not the best, but certainly nothing to sneeze at. Depends where you live honestly.

[–]Endorsed ContributorInvalidity -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Express is good for budgeting and provides a clean, somewhat fashionable look.

[–]joshsoowong 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Express has toned down their quality IMO. After 1 wash they become shit. The fabric also feels really bad IMO. To each his own though.

[–]SunshineBlotters 0 points1 point  (1 child)

[–]denmaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. It's what I was looking for.

[–]thedude122487 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you missed the point, which I believe was OP moreso trying to tell guys that they shouldn't be buying all of their clothes at Wal-Mart.

[–]disposable_pants 26 points27 points  (9 children)

Experiment with abstaining from masturbation.

Definitely good to experiment with this, but abstaining from masturbation long-term can compromise your indifference toward women. You don't want women to be the only way you can get off because then you need women for something.

Your thoughts on texting are good rules of thumb but could use a little more fleshing out. For example, it's impossible to "Stimulate your woman's mind in a way that other people can't" with fewer than eight words. I'd also reconsider using exclamation points or "haha" in texts (never "lol" or emoticons, though, those are juvenile); there just aren't many other ways to convey that you're an upbeat, happy, exciting person in that medium.

[–]SwissPablo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I tried to stop completely and it failed. I didn't like how I felt around women, especially as I was working mainly with women. After some experimentation I found once a week was just enough and discharged the build-up in my mind. As OP says it will vary but if you see it as a release rather than doing it for the pleasure then you don't have to stop completely.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (4 children)

Ejaculating often also reduces your risk of prostate cancer. However, sex is better and increases this beneficial effect. Multiple partners seems to increase this effect even more. Men with 20+ partners had the most reduced risk of prostate cancer (but only heterosexual relationships, sorry gay bros!)

[–]disposable_pants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably the best advice is to not feel compelled to masturbate but don't take it off the table, either. It gets back to the idea of doing what you want to without being beholden to anything.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Perhaps, that's the point of abstaining from masturbating. It forces you to increase your SMV and game to the level that sex can be had when you want it.

Conversely, it could prove that you do not in fact need women, because you do not need to ejaculate in order to feel good.

[–]Gmun23 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Couldn't agree more, at the start is like what AP's says "I need a woman to release" but after a while (It's been over a year for me), you don't need the woman or the porn. You can spend the extra time/energy/drive on productive tasks and when you feeling super horny, you just call up one of your plates(Usually they call me) that you gained from the drive you attained from abstaining your self from porn/masturbation.

Although excessive sex can lead to to a lack of energy; In my case sex 3 times a day, but I felt depleted. I try and go for no more then 2-5 times a week to keep my energy level up for business meeting / presentations / plates.

[–]Endorsed ContributorFLFTW16 15 points16 points  (3 children)

Be in charge of goodbyes. Initiate departures most of the time. If she says she should probably get going, immediately comply with a smile. Always appear comfortable leaving.

I really like this tip.

This is also mandatory to becoming a man. I spent a couple of years day hiking through New England, USA at least once per week. I would intentionally get lost to learn how to find my way, reserve my energy, and manage my fear. And I had tons of fun doing it. Now I live in a city of 10 million and miss my connection to the land and the lessons it teaches. I'm planning to go back.

[–]disposable_pants 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Now I live in a city of 10 million and miss my connection to the land and the lessons it teaches.

Try running/biking on an unfamiliar loop through the city. You learn the same lessons (but how they apply in cities) and find new bars/restaurants/interesting places to explore.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Streets are easy to navigate, nature is dense and can be very frightening.

Not to steal your thunder but the lessons are not the same.

[–]disposable_pants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Streets are easy to navigate

Depends entirely on your familiarity with them, with how neatly the city is laid out, and how many landmarks are visible.

nature is dense and can be very frightening.

Cities can be pretty frightening too if you wander into the wrong area. You're right that there's never the "I'm going to die alone out here" type of frightening you can get in the wild, but it's not as far off as you're making it seem.

[–]Cryocasm 42 points43 points  (35 children)

"Avoid trails, climb mountains, get lost, take some risks. If this seems unnecessary or dangerous, you are still psychologically a child."

I'm all for this, but if you REALLY have no clue in the great outdoors, start small or get some help. Read up, find a club/outing/REI...anything to not start from zero. All those movies about clueless people in the wilderness have a real-world equivalent. It's okay to goof up, but don't make your first trip up Denali solo or something really dumb.

Every year people -- usually from big metropolitan areas and cushy suburbs -- wander off and wind up in real trouble, injured or dead just by being "stupid" (inexperienced/unaware/unobservant/unprepared) though the arrogant ones are worse; "Why didn't you rescue us sooner and why aren't you giving us a ride back?", "Why can't I get a cell signal on the bottom of the Grand Canyon". Fuckwits.

All of that aside, something else to think about are "microadventures" to keep your karma lined up, particularly if you're pushed for time or resources - Alastair Humphries in the UK put together a pretty good web page on it, as well as a few more audacious things like circumnavigation by bike and sailboat.

Yeah, sleeting outside here in the fuckin' flatlands. Hurry spring!

[–]Kerberos- 22 points23 points  (2 children)

Heed this man's advice. I go on backcountry skiing trips pretty often and that's not the kind of stuff you want to go about by getting lost or avoiding trails. That's how people die.

Having said that, everyone needs to do a trip or two into the wilderness for a few days every year.

[–]DontYouTrustMe 6 points7 points  (1 child)

tip a canoe in a cold, fast moving river in the middle of fucking nowhere. that's how I almost died

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (4 children)

You are completely right.

It can be ridiculously easy to die in the wilderness. We saw bear cubs once on the trail. The girls went, "aww" and started to move towards them. The eagle scout and I pulled us out of there damn fast, but if he and I hadn't talked about that threat, the night before, that could have gone south quick.

Been camping plenty of times, but always with at least one other person. Something almost always goes wrong. One guy didn't check his car in at the welcome center and we might or might not have had to break a chain to get out, one girl twisted an ankle on mile 13 of a hike in and had to be semi-carried. Once a snap freeze hit. All the weather people where saying temperatures in the 40-50s. It hit the 20s, tons of snow, low visibility, and everything was iced over by the next morning.

At this point, I expect something to go wrong when I go backpacking/camping, and I try to just anticipate for every possibility.

[–]IllicitG 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Jesus, oxy and whisky? I imagine you couldn't feel a thing in your ankle. Just be careful, acetaminophen and alcohol are a bad combination for the liver.

[–]GC0W30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heavy enough on that combo and you will just freaking die, and well before your BAC makes it to 0.35 and kills you. ...

[–]steggun_cinargo 3 points3 points [recovered]

Agreed. All you really need to spend a few days/nights in the woods are some dried food, water, a tarp, sleeping pad, and a sleeping bag. That being said, if you haven't camped with a lot more than the above to figure out why things like a tent aren't necessary, you aren't ready yet.

[–]HeinousFu_kery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And bug netting if you're not from a dry/bugless climate. Some places you can wake up nearly exsanguinated and certainly miserable from insect bites.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep would not recommend going solo without experience. Join a meet up, join a club, join a group... because this will mean you dont need to go it alone.

[–]Cryocasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the safety of Austria's forests there isn't much to fuck up on. Regardless I would bring a cellphone just as an SOS, possibly a radio to send distress signals with.

I'm pretty OK with the outdoors and don't really plan on going into obvious traps.

[–][deleted] 19 points20 points  (6 children)

I bet some idiot is going to "get lost" based on this advice and need rescue or worse.

[–]like_a_ghost 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's cool bro, I got Google maps on my phone. Won't get lost.

[–]Cryocasm 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Breaking News!

Online subreddit "TheRedPill" teaches men to go into the wilderness and injure themselves as part of women-disregarding training course!

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (2 children)

I'm not mocking TRP, and your summation of it is flawed. I just think telling some noob to go off on his own in the wilderness is fucking stupid.

[–]Cryocasm -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Then you should try it if you think it's stupid.

Also, I posted a piece of satire which seems to have flown past you completely. Please go back to reading and stop posting.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relax, I don't think your hobby is stupid.

Edit: auto correct your

[–]justgrif 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Part of my own journey to personal improvement has involved lots and lots of nature. Even if I can't get out and camp all the time, I try to do 2 to 3 outings a month where I day hike around 14 miles with my full overnight pack. Exercise pays some dividends anyway. Doing it out in the wild maxes that out. After enough of this, the volume just gets turned way way down on everything else in my life.

[–]Cryocasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing it out in the wild maxes that out.

Because even the gym has idealized circumstances: a nice flat running surface on the treadmill, the weights all have easily held handles on them.

In the wild you ain't got shit to hold on to other than the floor and the floor out there isn't flat. Also hiking uphill and in mountainous terrain adds to the stress as your whole body is engaged in not tipping over and arms will get involved hanging onto trees and shit.

[–]The_Man11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way the alpine forest smells at night...

[–]AntixD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

campout in your backyard or a huge field

[–]Thizzlebot -1 points0 points  (9 children)

Yeah its cooler just to say you did it. My buddy and I didn't go that far but we kayaked like 20 miles down a river and set up camp at night at a campsite with just sleeping bags. He's a marine so it was nothing new for him but it was cool for me to experience once. We were straight up in the dirt roasting beans over a fire drunk as shit next to these half million dollar RVs and the dads would come over and you could see they were almost jealous of our fun even though they were way more comfortable.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (8 children)

Props, but you're watering down my point beyond recognition. Several days without human contact, navigating via topo maps and GPS, with only a firearm for companionship, enduring a radical withdrawal of all modern social infrastructure and culture comforts is conducive to a forced death of dependent beta traits and the birth of a rugged independence characteristic of a developed alpha man.

[–]Cryocasm 1 point2 points  (6 children)

firearm for companionship

Suppose you should take one if the environment has any viscous inhabitants. I'd just take a knife since Austria's forests don't feature much beyond foxes in terms of what could be a predator to the human.

Cooking food in the wild would IMO be the best part for me, building a campfire, erecting a scaffhold to put the meat on, hunting and shit. 10/10 am going to look into this summer.

[–]the10thrider 4 points5 points  (5 children)

Those foxes though... clever fuckers.

Unfortunately here in the States we have things like Mountain Lions (pumas/cougar) and Grizzly Bear, and these aren't unknown or unfounded dangers. Not exactly natural human predators, but due to habitat encroachment are quite numb to human presence and won't hesitate to defend themselves.

If you're going to go hiking alone in the Sierra Nevada or the Katmai, you best be bringing the heavy duty protection. If you've ever seen evidence of a bear attack... well there usually isn't anything left but spinal cord.

[–]SeekingAlpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In California, your greatest animal threat in the wilderness is very likely another human who may or may not speak English.

[–]the10thrider 0 points1 point  (2 children)

This is what I actually carry. (Bear spray). Mainly for two reasons:

  • The last thing I usually want with me is a firearm, mostly because I don't want it used against me. If I were to use one there's only a few last resort firearms that will take down a bear within charging range, and that would be a very large caliber handgun, probably larger than .454 or even .500 or even larger. Something that can be used at very close range (less than 25ft) because bears are fucking fast and will probably be on me before I can draw anyway, so it'll probably be a last resort point blank range shot while I'm fighting for my life, regardless.

  • A can of bear spray weighs a lot less than an AK47. I don't know who is bringing large caliber assault rifles into the wilderness, but I don't really want to find out.

But just a knife in bear country? I can't even wield a knife against rabbits, much less anything else. Bear spray FTW. (Just don't test it on yourself.)

[–]kellykebab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of situation are you imagining where your firearm will be used against you in the great outdoors?

[–]princenotsocharming 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Once in a while a kind soul like you decides to encapsulate a lot of TRP ideas into a single no-nonsense post which serves as a great cheat sheet. Thank you so much.

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not bad advice. Being stoic is great and all, but it's not for everyone, and can easily be taken too far. I imagine a lot of guys here walking around thinking they're James Bond, when it's probably a classic case of "what you think you look like vs what you really look like". Verges on fedora. You don't always need to be so serious, there's nothing wrong with being the kind of guy who talks shit all the time, what matters more than anything else is that you hold your frame, and stoic is one frame of many. E.g. often at a party I just randomly get my balls out (something J.B wouldn't do) and however people react, whether they laugh or are horrified, I hold frame.

Still all points agree. Except maybe don't talk about yourself. I'm quite arrogant and girls don't seem to mind.

[–][deleted] 77 points78 points  (10 children)

There are a few good points here, but this reads like a male version of Cosmo. A bit cringeworthy. If you are an alpha, you'll text however you want -- and live life on your terms. You could ignore a good chunk of these rules as long as you maintain frame. Also, a top-tier haircut? lol

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Kind of agree. There's no way TRP can be distilled into a "10 Ways To Become Red Pill" kind of list. It's about attitude and frame, very general things, and these are all specifics which could vary depending on the person.

[–]-Awake- 11 points12 points  (1 child)

It's just for the newbies. "be not contained by formula" is the Pook maxim that comes in to play here. Formulas, rules, and guidelines are useful, but they are the training wheels we put on the new guys until they earn their wings and can do it themselves.

I'm all for these little lists, they make a good starting point for anyone

[–]disposable_pants 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"be not contained by formula"

My favorite way of phrasing this is from Enter the Dragon:

Shaolin Abbott: What is the highest technique you hope to achieve?

Lee: To have no technique.

[–]Senior ContributorMentORPHEUS 31 points32 points  (2 children)

Disagree; do we want the sub to be a museum of perfect Alphas, or an effective school for aspiring ones?

At my martial arts dojo, nobody is considered too good or too advanced to be exempt from helping the newest students with their techniques. This is solidly written, just beginner level. Good job, OP.

[–]-Johnny- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was honestly thinking this the whole time reading the post. I kept saying, that's bullshit, i live my life how ever the fuck i want, if they arnt down then next.

Then i realized this is for the betas, the ones who have no clue. These are decent points for betas and to find hook ups. Other then that, disregard.

[–]Shai_Huluds_asshole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think op specifically said these were like cheap tricks to fake it till you make it. Real alpha doesn't need advice from reddit

[–]venicerocco -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Red Pill is precisely Male Cosmo.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

"Experiment with abstaining from masturbation. Shoot for one week..."

Sorry, this made me snigger childishly for a good minute.

Also, great post.

[–]kevkos 35 points36 points  (8 children)

"Never discuss your feelings or emotions."

Ridiculous. You want to be a robot? I'm not saying you should go crying on her shoulder every night, but hiding emotions is not manly, alpha, cool, or even human. You have emotions, she has emotions, this isn't a "red pill" area....and for those of us who are in or looking for a LTR, this tactic ain't gonna work for long.

[–]jdoe5 11 points12 points  (5 children)

Never DISCUSS, not never SHOW. It's unreasonable to not have emotions, by she doesn't care about how you say everything makes you feel. Let her read your emotions.

[–]kevkos 9 points10 points  (4 children)

Not discussing is still being a robot.

Feelings are meant to be expressed. Yes, to women. It's not "beta" do do so. This notion of hiding emotions around women is unhealthy and needs to die. Again, I'm not saying to whine and cry to women but expressing emotions is certainly manly, and 100% healthy.

[–]jdoe5 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Yes it's healthy and normal, but healthy and normal do not necessarily mean attractive. Women want men to be stoic. Sure they'll listen to you and it's good for you, but it's not making them think you're any hotter. Just like how it's healthy and normal and "womanly" for women to have periods, buts it's not attracting me to hear about them.

It's not good for men to bottle up emotions, but it's expected of them to be attractive. Just like how it's not good for women to obsess about weight and makeup, buts it's expected of them to be attractive. Each gender has its pros and cons.

Also saying feelings can only be expressed as words is a little myopic. A vast majority of our communication is body language. Words are only a small part.

[–]kevkos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd rather not conform to society's standards and here is why.

You start doing things that are "expected" to be attractive and pretty quickly you are trying to be somebody else.

Most guys are running around trying to hide feelings and act stoic. Women are totally used to this. I would not say it is inherently attractive. I've had many relationships that some of the best moments were when we were both honest with our feelings.

This is gold if you can do it.

Hiding/holding back/acting tough can certainly "work", and you can get laid and be attractive to some women that way- but lots of things can also do that. Some women will drop their panties because of the car you drive, others because you can play guitar.

I'd rather just be honest about feelings. If I'm pissed off, I'm not going to fly off the handle but I'm going to let her know. If I'm sad, I let her know. If I'm thrilled, I let her know. She's not my ONLY source to discuss feelings but in an LTR, that's a necessary component. And yes, of course, body language is sometimes enough.

[–]disposable_pants -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Spot on all around, especially about the difference between normal and attractive.

Very selectively expressing emotion also has the benefit of increasing her attraction to it -- anything scarce is valued. If you're her rock most of the time and once in a blue moon slip in a nugget about how you feel she'll be happy because she's "seeing the real you." It doesn't even have to be how you feel about you or us; it can be how you feel/felt about a major event, good or bad. A side of you she very rarely sees is interesting, and interesting is attractive.

[–]1KyfhoMyoba -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Never discuss them with a woman. Your bros a fine, that's why they're your bros. Women will use that shit against you.

The state you're looking to project is amused mastery.

[–]kevkos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see how this would be okay with plates you aren't that interested in beyond sex, but if you're in a LTR and hiding emotions, I see no point- might as well just plate her and keep it surface level.

[–]Endorsed ContributorPopeman79 13 points14 points  (3 children)

Meditation is awesome. It builds your state of consciousness, and you start projecting an unseen energy, a kind of aura, that people gravitate towards.

[–]Lazlo-Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think that meditation is for wimps, please read how Wim Hof uses a 30 breath breathing exercise - to start- and then adds some "bonus" work. He only holds around 20 Guinness World Records for withstanding extreme temperatures and has climbed mountains in only shorts and shoes. http://www.highexistence.com/the-wim-hof-method-revealed-how-to-consciously-control-your-immune-system/

[–]kcchiefs0927 7 points8 points  (1 child)

just go to H&M and Urban Outfitters

Some people quoted this and voiced their opinions on their distaste but never gave any quality alternatives, at least in my opinion.

If we are talking good clothes, I would recommend:

Brooks Brothers

Ralph Lauren Polo (classics, not the big ass logo shirts)

Allen Edmonds or Cole Haans for shoes

LL Bean, just to name a few

However, I am a fan in people choosing their own style. For example, I dress in southern style with a cowboy mix, so expect jeans, boots, pocket tee, and plaid. On nice events/work, expect Brooks Brothers, Polo, etc. If you want to choose your own style, more power to you. Most of you are adults capable of making your own decisions.

Also, whatever path you choose, please make sure your clothes are fitted. Casual clothes are exempt from this, but suits, button downs/ups, and dress pants/khakis need to be fitted or you'll be the butt of all jokes at any job that requires professional attire.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ralph Lauren Polo (classics, not the big ass logo shirts)

Couldn't agree more. Also, I'd add Alden to your shoe list.

[–]cascadecombo 2 points3 points  (1 child)

If this seems unnecessary or dangerous, you are still psychologically a child.

I like the idea of this, but for the majority of people who don't have experience with the outdoors, they should notify at least the rangers they are out, or have someone who knows they are out in a possible dangerous situation.

[–]LazlikesAlly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of these tips are absolute quality and credible. All should be applied. However, when in serious relationship, some of the points are way to extreme, unrealistic, and should only be used very moderately.

[–]bobjoe177 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who lives outdoors 6 months of the year for the last decade, I think recommending that someone with little to no outdoor experience go gt lost in the mountains (especially at this time of year) is a bad idea. Tell people where you're going and don't try to take shortcuts in areas you're not familiar with.

[–]token_stache 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This shit is golden. Be a fucking man, I think most of us are naturally alpha and have just had society beat it out of us. Go into the wilderness, mediate encounter your uncomfortable poltically incorrect thoughts. Deal with them accept the fact you want a submissive woman and that's good.

[–]disposable_pants 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Can you elaborate a bit more on what you'd like to see?

[–]erniesmoove 3 points4 points  (1 child)

  • How to set bundaries
  • Handling shit tests
  • Scalating pecking order
  • Communication
  • Winging
  • Girls, ex, plates. Who has the call of a girl, the one who sees it first or the one that makes a move first?
  • Favors
  • When to look for other friends.
  • When to let some red pill or alpha concepts to them.
  • How to support a bro in life, girl problems, etc ETC

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, exactly that. But less how to deal with women, more how to deal with other males, friends, "friends" etc.

[–]5850s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found agree and amplify works great with other guys talking shit.

[–]goodguy29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are a hopelessly beta, bottom of the barrel male, I recommend shocking your system by committing yourself to a couple of days of solitude in the wilderness. Buy some gear and go into the wilderness for a couple of days with food and water. Avoid trails, climb mountains, get lost, take some risks. If this seems unnecessary or dangerous, you are still psychologically a child.

I cannot recommend this strongly enough. I took up bowhunting about 5 years ago, and I feel that just the repeated experience of being alone in the woods mentally toughens you. The terrain here is extraordinarily rugged, and to pursue elk effectively, you have to be prepared to hike for miles away from any roads or trails, often in the middle of the night. It has an effect on your psyche, much like lifting does. It's kind of hard to explain, but when I get back into town, I'm physically exhausted, but feel so relaxed and confident.

[–]Ojisan1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Meditate. Just do it. Meditate every day. If you don't know where to start, sit down somewhere, close your eyes, and count your breaths to 100. Tame your mind.

If you want to take this good advice but don't know how to meditate, I highly recommend the Headspace app. The first 10 exercises are free and will teach you the basics. Grab your headphones and your smartphone and sit somewhere that you can close your eyes for 10 minutes and not get mugged. It doesn't even have to be somewhere quiet.

[–]SwissPablo 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Furthermore, occasionally ignore her for periods of time ranging from 12 to 48 hours.

The hard part here is dealing with her demanding to know what you've been doing. This is where you can practice building solid frame. You don't need to explain yourself, you were doing your thing.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

The hard part here is dealing with her demanding to know what you've been doing.

"I flew down to Brazil to bang some hookers."

"I decided to join a monastery, but it was too quiet, so I came back."

"Doing fun stuff."

[–]fhghg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Silence is the best answer. I answered that question for 6 years of marriage. No more. I'd rather be celebate and alone than answer that question one more time. The disgust I feel wells up inside me and spills out through my glare. I pick up the axe. In a moment I am alone.

[–]texx77 6 points7 points  (9 children)

I had two women over this weekend on Saturday and Sunday. And I still masturbate incredibly frequently. I fail to see what is alpha about not jerking off.

[–]RedditArgument 8 points9 points  (7 children)

Self-control. Also for newer guys it may be beneficial in forcing oneself to seek stimulation outside of porn/masturbation, increasing their chances of getting out there and doing something real. In my opinion excessive pornography makes most people lazy when it comes to picking up women.

[–]texx77 6 points7 points  (6 children)

That's a fair point for some people. I really dislike OP's absolutist language.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (4 children)

Experiment with abstaining from masturbation. Shoot for one week and observe the cognitive and hormonal effects. Everyone is different but many people find that abstaining dramatically increases social confidence and energy. This has been my experience. YMMV.

That's the least absolutist endorsement of nofap I have ever read.

[–]texx77 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Cut out all porn.

This is the same thing as saying stop masturbating. Who the fuck watches porn and doesn't jerk it.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (2 children)

But some people jerk it without por

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

im jerking it to this thread.

[–]texx77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fantasizing is for teenagers

So if you listen to op, what exactly are you jerking off to, past thoughts and door knobs? All masturbation is thinking about what gets you off, aka fantasizing

[–]nuesuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So do I, but it is "quick and dirty tips for aspiring alphas".. So it's fine. There is a lot to learn.

[–]Neverd0wn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I wrong to assume that you've been good with women from an early age? I think people that aren't that good with women and masturbate to porn a lot do in fact benefit from giving porn up, because this forces them to interact with real girls to get their sexual relief. I guess if you're already good with women masturbating to porn a lot doesn't "hurt" your game, because you already know how to get girls anyway.

[–]GREF_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously? You're entitled to her body? This sub is so rapey/creepy. You're all delusional.

[–]therefiller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

while this article does not deal with your specific brand of radicalism, the general faults it points out about radicalism (of any variety) are something that you may want to consider before you tout that badge like it's a medal of honor

http://www.mcgilldaily.com/2014/11/everything-problematic/

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

That TRP is radical or is seen by others as radical is irrelevant to the willingness with which I subscribe to its ideas. A radical idea only refers to the relationship it has to its environment. The environment in this case refers to a culture in which it is trendy to bash men and defend women impulsively, so a strained relationship an idea has with said environment is if anything a sign that it is a necessary reaction against that imbalance.

[–]puffpuffpastor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"so a strained relationship an idea has with said environment is if anything a sign that it is a necessary reaction against that imbalance."

this is what literally everyone with a radical idea - including people whose radicalism directly opposes yours - claims. just food for thought. I've been subbed to this reddit (and the blue pill as well, I like to get both sides of every issue) for quite some time, and the one thing that has always struck me as profoundly ironic about redpillers is that the whole idea espoused here that you should "be your own man" completely opposes strict adherence to a radical ideology. if you're blindly supporting something in the face of overwhelming backlash, that doesn't seem like a great sign, just like being part of an overwhelming and unquestioning majority seems rather suspect. I'd much rather have 50% of people on either side of me on any issue than 99% of people opposed to me and 1% in near-religious support of me.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (25 children)

Ditch all processed foods. Eat as clean as possible. This will improve every aspect of your life immediately. If you need to ween off processed foods, start with clean breakfasts, then add clean lunches, etc. No added sugar, no corn syrup. Buy natural ingredients and learn to enjoy simple home-cooked meals.

Jesus Christ. Every time I see this shit it just pisses me off.

Stop recommending this shit. You have no fucking idea what you're talking about, you have nothing to support why you recommend this, and it's fucking retarded. Just stop.

However, it's not as bad as this:

I recommend shocking your system by committing yourself to a couple of days of solitude in the wilderness. Buy some gear and go into the wilderness for a couple of days with food and water. Avoid trails, climb mountains, get lost, take some risks. If this seems unnecessary or dangerous, you are still psychologically a child.

If this seems unnecessary or dangerous, you are still psychologically a child.

Yeah, how about no. Anyone who has ever done any hiking/camping ITT will know that 1) this is a terrible idea, and 2) you have obviously never done any hiking/camping.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (11 children)

I feel a lot better eating clean as opposed to the processed junk I used to. This isn't a science blog or subreddit, so citations and support aren't necessary; opinion and personal experience can stand alone.

Solo backpacking can be done safely and responsibly. Didn't see another human being in Iceland for 14 days. I'm still here.

[–]daprospecta 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I have no idea why you are being down-voted. I feel the same. Since I cut out processed foods, I feel better as well. Of course, not eating processed foods will not make you super man but it's like your body is working like a well oiled machine. I contribute it to being in our DNA. Call me crazy but our ancestors going back many generations ate fruit, legumes, meat(of course), basically things that were in nature and spices. I think our bodies handle that better because it's engraved in our DNA. In the year 3000, our body may be better prepared to process Cheez-It's but maybe not so much right now.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its going to take more than 1000 yrs

[–]Windrammer420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's dumb about this is that those scary old processed foods are made out of the same shit found in nature. Nothing about being "natural" makes it inherently healthy. There poisons in nature. And something processed can be more healthy than something natural.

Cutting out junk food is perfectly valid, writing off processed food is just ignorance.

But that's not what I downvoted him for. I downvoted him for the stupid, incredibly shit he said about backpacking.

[–]disposable_pants 1 point2 points  (3 children)

opinion and personal experience can stand alone

The problem with this is that anything can be rationalized -- we talk about women doing it all the time and we're not immune from rationalization either. We all want high-quality advice on here and if we're swimming in conflicting opinions and experiences we aren't likely to always pick out the best parts.

More importantly, think of sourcing claims as a personal development exercise. I do a decent amount of writing and look up stuff constantly, and a solid 10% of the time I wind up learning something new and changing my mind substantially. No one knows everything, so the more often you look something up the more often you'll learn something.

[–][deleted] 1 points1 points

[permanently deleted]

[–]disposable_pants 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I'm not saying clean eating is settled science or rationalization -- I'm saying that just posting experiences is lower quality content than posting an opinion backed up by a decent source.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not convinced that personal experiences are less valuable than science when it comes to red pill discussion. That being said, the value of eating clean is a topic so immense that citing a source for it is highly unnecessary. No one is going to struggle to instantly find a variety of scientific claims about the value of consuming nutrient-dense and natural foods like vegetables as opposed to microwavable garbage and oreos.

[–]justaguy9 -5 points-5 points [recovered]

I feel a lot better eating clean as opposed to the processed junk I used to

And I feel a lot better eating more sugar. Funny huh, it's almost like anecdotes can be used to back up anything.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then use that point when you write a post intended to help others overcome beta tendencies.

[–]Master1176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's with all the hate on eating clean food? I really don't get that. Forget Alpha and Beta - you are what you eat. Eating clean food is NEVER bad advice. It does make you look better, and quickly. When you take care of yourself, you freaking GLOW.

Now to all the haters - go back to stuffing your face with Twinkies and processed shit. Because you're such cool fucking Alphas that you don't care. Congratulations, fatasses!

[–]tallwheel 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Yeah. The first may be good health advice, but I really don't think it has much to do with being alpha. There are probably plenty of alphas who eat garbage all the time. Doesn't make them any less alpha.

Furthermore, once a girl sees how much organic this, and grass-fed that you religiously keep in your apartment, it's not exactly gonna look like the most alpha badass thing she's ever seen (and in the case of an LTR, she will see eventually). Eating clean, though a good idea, is more often associated with hipster types than alpha badasses. Alphas are not supposed to give a fuck. They're supposed to just have naturally big and healthy bodies regardless of what they eat. So... catch-22 I guess.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Eating garbage does make their semen less alpha. It probably puts off bad pheromones or signs of poor immunity. Both of those matter in women's attraction.

The idea of "clean" is too vague, but eating the healthiest you can afford is a good idea. Include fatty pastured beef for testosterone production.

[–]tallwheel 3 points4 points  (2 children)

True, but I don't think eating better is going to have an immediate effect on one's appearance of being alpha the way most of the other things on this list will. It's more of a long-term lifestyle thing, and it is important, sure, but belongs in other more advanced posts here in this sub rather than a quick 'dirty hacks' list like this one.

Smoking is a horrible lifestyle choice for your health, but I guarantee a cigarette in one's hand will have more immediate effects on one's alphaness than a kale smoothie.

Alpha isn't defined by good life decisions, it's defined by dominance, being fearless (and that includes fear of death and poor health), and just overall not giving a fuck.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Alpha is contextual. Praying fervently, having a fish tatoo and being on the worship team is alpha to christian girls. Similarly having a kale smoothie may be more acceptable in certain circles (California?) Because having a cigarette is like having a festering wound to some eyes

[–]tallwheel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it is contextual, but in general, alpha is associated with risk-taking behavior. Smoking is considered a risk because everyone knows it is bad for you and the establishment tells us all we should quit. Even most women who would shun smoking may still be subconsciously turned on by a smoker.

[–]elvendude 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Thank you. I constantly see people recommending that you "eat clean" without any backup as to why. Sure, processed food generally has more calories. So long as I'm keeping my body comp correct...so fucking what?

[–]madgreed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, the intentions are ok. Generally eating less calories benefits everyone who isn't skinny - and most people aren't skinny.

Processed foods tend to be amongst the most calorie dense. I think better advice would be more simple: Try to drink only water and prepare at least one meal day.

[–]Master1176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Processed foods are filled with chemicals that fuck you up in ways that we don't even fully understand yet. They give you various types of cancer, lower your testosterone count, etc. No, I'm not a babysitter, I won't provide you with sources. You have fingers and Google. If you don't care what you eat, not my problem - but it isn't right to crap on the OP, who is giving good advice.

[–]erniesmoove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man this guidelines is just what I needed this days. Even though I know most of them its easy to make a mistake when youre not constatly reminded. This should be read daily.

[–]Silas_Caliburn 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The texting advice is key. My marriage has improved significantly since I cut down on acknowledging her novel-length texts.

I keep my texts in her direction to-the-point. Yes, no, do this, etc. No emotional or discussion content that can be twisted in her mind. Too often they read the text and frame it in their current emotional state. You have no idea what that is. I used to get endless questions of "why are you so angry?" After a simple text message.

All of these principles are doubly important if you make the mistake of getting married.

[–]Beast-MO 1 point2 points  (7 children)

born betas trying to act alpha by over analyzing every aspect in life. This is not the road to being alpha, this is the road to being a pitiful fake alpha. You are the person who changes everything to look good to women. You are the person putting the pussy on the pedestal.

betas gonna beta

[–]daprospecta 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There isn't anything wrong with analyzing every aspect in your life. That sir is how you get better at life. I often times find myself saying "Yes, this works but is there a better way?" Another thing, 90% of the things men do are for women. I seek knowledge at every turn. That has nothing to do with women but when I dress sharp on a regular day, I do it so I look sharp and to be attractive to the opposite sex. Ask yourself next time you are looking dapper, are you doing it for yourself or "Cause every girl crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man?"

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (5 children)

Some of us gotta fake it til we make it, homie.

Why not provide constructive criticism instead?

[–]Beast-MO 3 points4 points  (4 children)

my constructive criticism is mixed in there. Over analyzing, putting the pussy on a pedestal, and changing everything about yourself is not alpha at all. Im new to this subreddit(not new to redpill) and I guess I expected something different from a red pill group than this.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Practically every one of us here was a beta in some form or another before happening across the Manosphere. I mean, OP says right off the bat,

I am anything but a natural alpha and these are some simple techniques I've employed to "fake it till I make it".

changing everything about yourself is not alpha

I disagree. I had to change a lot of behaviors about myself (putting myself first for one) before I started to see success with TRP.

Sometimes dudes just need a reminder of what not to do. Also, keep in mind that this sub has grown a lot since I found it ~8 months ago, so there's a lot of guys unplugging who are brand new to this stuff. If it's not your style of post or you disagree, move on to something more advantageous to your time usage.

[–]Beast-MO 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Self improvement is a good thing. Bettering youself is always a good thing, but changing into what you think women want you to be is not.

OP says

"I've employed to "fake it till I make it" with respect to communicating with women, including in a LTR."

Is that what you want to be? To me a part of being alpha is deciding who you want to be not shaping yourself into what women will find attractive. If you want to be the guy OP is describing do it, but dont do it because thats what women want.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

dont do it because thats what women want.

Couldn't agree more. I didn't change my behaviors so I could be more attractive to women. That was just a great side-effect. I did it so that I wasn't supplicating to them any longer and so that I could love myself more, because no one else will. TRP helped me realize that I had a shit job I didn't want to be in forever, that I had to go back to school and be a man for once in my life at 27 years old. Hopefully guys who read OP can distinguish the difference.

[–]disposable_pants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me a part of being alpha is deciding who you want to be not shaping yourself into what women will find attractive.

What if I want to eat Ben & Jerry's and sit around playing Madden all day? There are many ways of being alpha, but not everything can be alpha.

On a higher level, change is how you improve. If you think you don't need to change anything in your life you think you're perfect, and if you think you're perfect you aren't.

[–]RiPing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That wilderness idea seems like an interesting experience. But I live in the Netherlands. Where can I find the wild? I could potential.y travel in my long summer holidays to another country.

[–]Grasdaggel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good post in general, some points are agureable, but especially your last point is more than false:

Avoid trails, climb mountains, get lost, take some risks. If this seems unnecessary or dangerous, you are still psychologically a child.

This is the most wrong phrase in your post. Going into the wild may sound cool for Murrica, but may not for the rest of the world. Theres not even a single indicator that you are child-minded if you do not want to acceppt unnessecary risks to your own body. Spending (a few) day(s) in the woods is great and everyone should do this at least once in a lifetime, however - going to climb for example without any knowledge about climbing is ridiciolus stupid and only shows that you highly overestimate yourself, which is everything but Alpha. Taking SOME risks is worth it, of course. And its some kind of an adventure. Thats for sure! But you should never NEVER bring yourself in a serious dangerous situation only because some guy on reddit tells you to do it.

I totally agree with a lot of your points, just to clarify that. Good post!

[–]sniffsen 0 points1 point  (1 child)

The irony is that you'd have to be a desperate, clamouring omega to go to these lengths

[–]Overzealous_BlackGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously if you want to look good , shop at the gap and jc penny. The gap has a better quality in clothing and isn't too trendy the way h&m is, if youre not into clothes just keep it simple , chat with a sales associate and get her to dress you up. Use that as your template. tailor all expensive clothing.

Jc penny has a wide selection from generic to 100$ nautica/polo shirts and more plus nice shoes and watches.

Buy some nice boots, some nice basketball sneakers, some nice shoes (casual) ,vans and a pair of sperry's. If you have big feet. Then get some nice sandals from hollister. Then have a work pair of athletic sneakers and boots.

Some more tips. White/ black t shirts is just about good for any casual event. Make sure the color is fresh...and dont walk outside with "just pulled this shirt out the package wrinkles" all over your damb shirt; iron that fucking shit.

Keep jewelry to a minimum key word is subtle. Main thing is a nice watch, and a nice ring.

[–]rangamatchstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone describe or povide pics of a "top tier" haircut? Im a guy who dislikes the idea of fashion, not the changing styles the idea that everyone gets that because your not dressing in the latest fashion, that you should be avoided. I dont dress weirdly or in some ancient style, its pretty average same with my haircut as I cant stand the current trend were I live and im getting the vibe that this "top tier" hair cut is something like what iev seen and am not going to get.

[–]nkTesla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great tips and reminders. I have an idiotic tendency to try and read her mind. Total waste of time energy and focus.

[–]AreIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Texting is for entertainment, not meaningful relationship-building.

Best thing I've read all day.

[–]thetrenmademedoit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Experiment with abstaining from masturbation.

Not a fucking chance. Username relevant.

[–]midnightyeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meditating is a good point, or the close your eyes and count to 100 tip. Most people forget that having 10 minutes to yourself during the day is very important. Ideally, you should take a 30-45 minute nap in the afternoon.

[–]94redstealth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great advice on texting. And if you can, keep texting to an absolute minimum. Women love it when men pick up the phone and actually call. The one trait I've noticed over and over again among BETA males who routinely fail with women is that they text cuz they lack the balls to actually pick up a phone and have a meaningful conversation. "Hey bb" texts will not get you laid and will turn a woman off of you real fast.

[–]Trisha_Hill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commenting to find this again later on. Good post

[–]newbie3hunna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys know girls enjoy watching porn as well and you can do it with them right? I never understood this porn hate. I guess it negatively effects some people much more than me. Honestly watching porn makes me want to get out there more and fuck, not become a degenerate recluse who masturbates 17 hours a day.

[–]Pierscc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A note on clothing. I've seen brands like topman and Zara branded around, now I don't want to be rude but if you want to be a man you've got to dress like a man with purpose. Boys shop there at like 14.

Look to brands like J Crew, Norse and APC or online retail stores like Mr Porter. These places not only have good quality products but show you how to dress. Yes some of the items can be a little expensive but come sale time, cash in and you'll be set.

J Crew do an excellent job of showing you styles and 'outfit' ideas. It should help you get started and understand the style you want - from casual to smart and everything invetween.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Meditation. I've attempted to get into this multiple times but it never sticks, partly because I'm expecting something from performing meditation.

A habit loop consists of stimulus - cue - habit - reward. With gym, the reward might be sweating and a sore arm to signify a good workout. With eating, it might be the satisfaction of tracking your calories the whole day.

But with meditation, I can't stick to it because it lacks reward. and honestly it seems like a waste of time to sit there and focus on your breathing for ten minutes.

Rant aside, I do wish to try this out again. Where should I start?

[–]fantasmoslam 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Just lol. That's all I'm gonna say...

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would advice not doing any communication trough text.

[–]curiousjim2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sex shouldn't be about being dominant. It's about whatever you both want. If you're into being dominated then go for it. You shouldn't apologise for it or hold back because your scared it's not 'alpha'.

[–]Panda_Love_23 -5 points-4 points  (4 children)

Am female. Can confirm all of this.

If you are looking for LTR in the end, these two points are going to cause more strife than intrigue. It's a great tip at first, because it comes off as more mysterious and like you can handle your own, but long term wise, we want to know what you're thinking. Not for control issues, but because we love you and want to be a shoulder you can lean on. We want access to your heart and mind because we want to be your partner through all this mess called life, and we love the idea that you can trust us for this. My SO talks to me about his concerns every now and again, and I listen and give my own two cents worth and do what I can to help him out with whatever it is, even if that's just lend an ear to listen to his concerns. It helps build trust and is a good bonding tool. Exposing yourself to her will really display you are serious about a relationship with her, and if she is a good female, she will appreciate this a lot more than you think. But be careful and hold off on this, to insure that she is worthy of it and won't just try to manipulate you with sensitive information.

But again, that's only advice for LTR. The rest of it works great for LTR, and also works great to get a girl hooked. I don't want to admit it, but all of it works for me, even the ignoring me (but don't be afraid to be sociable in texting, it's also a way to draw us in when you suddenly are a conversationalist. We feel important to you then, but in a way synonymous to being rewarded versus spoiling us) and domination in bed. It is very alpha, and as someone who can't stand betas as romantic partners, I'm drawn to this like bugs to a lantern.

Also, I feel acting this way will help weed out the women that aren't serious about being a submissive female. Someone like me, who is naturally obedient and submissive when around an alpha male, will latch to you very quickly. Some of the feminists I have known in the past would think you're sexy and still have sex with you, but she won't commit long-term. And that's great news, to know you're weeding out all the non-subservient females and attracting the more submissive ones :)

[–]TRP VanguardJP_Whoregan 3 points4 points  (1 child)

if she is a good female

Perhaps the biggest IF in the history if IFs. Most of today's women are selfish trash. Am male. Can confirm this.

[–]Panda_Love_23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I can see where that trepidation stems from. It's hard to see it from a female's perspective in the beginning, as I don't date women so I don't see that side of them, but from the male friends I have known, or from watching couple friends of my parents, I can see pretty clearly how men are treated by many modern women. I'm still an advocate that most women just need some firm assertion. They'll complain at first, but if 50 shades of horrible literature shows us anything, women eat that up. We really do like when a man shows his dominance. It's in our nature. Just put the mean and selfish ones in their place enough times and they'll come around.

Hopefully there are just as many women making the red pill switch as there are men, so you don't have to deal with the snobby attitudes. Needless to say, it's going to be easier to work on re-establishing the natural order of relationships when both parties are consenting. Honestly, the best way to get most women to turn around is to get more alphas into society. It will confuse them, but they will respond to it. And for those women that can prove their worth, they can then enter a calmer relationship with said alphas, where a healthy relationship can be built. It just sucks it's going to take all this effort, just to establish how things should have been all along.

[–]Senior ContributorMentORPHEUS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solid advice there. For plates and short-term, don't discuss feelings.

For LTRs, ONLY after vetting her 4-6 months minimum, discussing feelings and emotions in a measured, controlled manner isn't automatically blue pill, it is relationship maintenance.

You might even find it useful to test the waters with minor thoughts/pecadilloes/feelings, then give it a few weeks and see if she gossips the information or attempts to turn it against you. If no, it's a sign that deeper intimacy may be possible between you; if yes, instant demotion to plate or lower status!

I learned the hard way when young, private information poured from your heart to the wrong woman might not build intimacy, it might be filling a gunny sack with ammunition that will be poured over your head at once later. If this happens, HARD NEXT IMMEDIATELY!

[–]BlaiseDB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An exception seems to be (from my own experience, anyways) that if you display an objective and dispassionate awareness, knowledge and control of your feelings and emotions. More so if it is in reference to something in the past that you were able to learn from and improve upon.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you're hanging out waiting to receive a text on your phone, at least pretend you're not.

My experience has been that if you are waiting to receive a text, you should legitimately do something to prevent you from awaiting one. Go text another person, or if you're waiting for her to respond about a group activity that you planned, leave to go do that solo (you should only be doing things that you want to do and bringing her along for the ride).

I didn't wait for this girl to go on a bike ride with me on Sunday, I went anyway. I'm actually glad that she didn't go because I always like to spend short amounts of quality time with plates.

Pursuing this course of action communicates that your time is valuable and that you are not willing to wait around. It is her duty to qualify herself to you.

[–]Jesusfuckkkk 1 point2 points  (7 children)

'You are entitled to her body. Its your toy'

Who the fuck do you people think you are?

I would love to see someone thrashing the living fuck out of you assholes.Mess with the wrong girl and the white knights would kill you.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (4 children)

Responding to an idea with a wish for violence to be committed against the person stating the idea is a reliable sign of a poorly developed mind. You've also demonstrated a remarkable unwillingness to grasp my nuanced point and immediately read me literally, disqualifying you from any meaningful further discussion here.

[–]CMDR_101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fantastic ideology, you are truly one who understands reality, and the facts of the world.

[–]Jesusfuckkkk -1 points0 points  (1 child)

I'd rather not talk about developed minds with a Trper.

You are putting so much effort in just maintaining the interest of one girl , its the complete opposite of a natural alpha. You cant learn this shit, it comes to you .

And whats with the 'escalation'? How hard it is for you guys to get consent?

Physically imposing on someone half your size is just pure intimidation.

[–]armenia4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The OP assumes that consent in the relationship has already been given.

It's called initiating. If she doesnt want to, she will make it clear.

[–]1runnerrun2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meditate. Just do it. Meditate every day. If you don't know where to start, sit down somewhere, close your eyes, and count your breaths to 100. Tame your mind.

I mainly need this one I think.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

More like a guide to being the ultimate insecure twat. An alpha doesn't need a guide to be an alpha an alpha is always an alpha.

Never discuss your feelings or emotions.

An alpha is so secure in himself that he can talk about feelings. He doesn't need to look secure, he is secure. He doesn't need to be cold to get women, he gets them anyways.

Being an alpha is as much about seduction as everything else. An alpha gets both men and women to follow their lead, he get's them to trust him, he get's them to open up to him. From all this the alpha solidifies his position as alpha as not only is he trustworthy, he also knows more about others than the non alphas do. An alpha is as much psychological as it's physical.

Do not talk about yourself.

An alpha doesn't talk about himself as something awesome or refer to himself as an alpha. That's true. But an alpha is comfortable talking about himself. Even his weaknesses as an alpha knows and admits that even he has weaknesses. An alpha isn't arrogant, he's always present. An alpha is present among the ones he is close to even when he's not there. People talk about the alpha, they mention the alpha and they ask about the alpha. "Where is he""did you hear what he did", "we should ask him"... etc. questions that are asked when the alpha isn't present.

Occasionally be unexpectedly thoughtful.

An alpha is always thoughtful. He knows that he can treat people with respect, listen to them, be their friend and still be the alpha. He doesn't need to hold out on giving or being there. He as the alpha is always prepared to lend a hand.

Be in charge of goodbyes.

An alpha dominates the room (space) even if someone leaves. An alpha will have people come and say good buy to him. It's their way to unconsciously validate the alphas status as the alpha. An alpha is always present, he's secure, he doesn't need to do tricks to be an alpha.

Touch her. You are entitled to her body...Regularly temporarily withdraw from initiating any physical affection.

Women will touch the alpha, there's no need for him to make it a thing to touch women. An alpha doesn't have to show dominance, he'll be shown submission. An alpha can touch women if he wants to, but what makes him more intriguing for women is that an alpha doesn't always give them the attention, they have to work for it. But an alpha doesn't think about this either, it happens naturally.

Lift 3x week, keep a top-tier haircut, wear good clothes...Eat as clean as possible.

An alpha is an alpha even if he's fat and just came from a week in the woods. He doesn't need to make himself an alpha. Being tidy is also natural to an alpha. He doesn't need to plan it. In the end an alpha is more about mental dominance than physical. An alpha puts emphasis on eating what he wants at that moment, he's got a natural eye for etiquette and that's all he needs.

Meditate

An alpha is secure, he doesn't stress unnecessarily. He's in control. Only a beta needs to meditate so that he can get the energy so that he can continue on pretending. An alpha takes time for himself naturally, he doesn't need to set aside time for it. People will give him that time, and that personal space to do so.

Cut out all porn...Experiment with abstaining from masturbation.

Porn for an alpha is just another form of entertainment. He sees porn for what it is, and doesn't tie it to reality in any which way. If an alpha feels like he wants to take a wank he'll do so. Just for fun at times. A quickie with lady-hand can be relaxing. An alpha has naturally so much testosterone that he doesn't need or even consider removing the frustration. He doesn't need that extra drive.

Usually wait at least 10 minutes before responding to a text.

As per above, an alpha can always be present. People know that he's not being insecure or overly attendant. If he replies in 2 seconds he just happened to have time to do so.

Don't use smiley faces, exclamation marks, or laughing ("haha," "lol)

Again an alpha is secure in his person. People follow him even if he is weird at times. Because he's confident in himself. He doesn't need your or anyone else to approve him, or to confirm his standing. He knows.

Send less words

Already addressed this one.

occasionally ignore her for periods of time ranging from 12 to 48 hours.

Utter nonsense. An alpha gets women to follow him, he doesn't need to play around. They are his for the taking naturally. He eats when his hungry, he sleeps when he's tired, he fucks when he's horny. He doesn't play games.

...a couple of days of solitude in the wilderness.

An alpha is naturally drawn to the nature, to a rough environment. He can do it alone or with friends.

Finally, an alpha never calls himself an alpha, an alpha never thinks about himself as an alpha, an alpa is always an alpha. Anyone who tries to be an alpha will end up failing given time. A pretender will be frustrated, he'll not be himself, he's living a lie. There are two kinds of people. Natural leaders and followers. You belong to either one and you can only temporarily fake it. But even when you fake it successfully, people will see through you. They'll let you pretend until a real alpha comes along and takes his rightful place naturally. And there's nothing you can do about it.

While I understand the mental part of this (alpha does as he wants, doesn't give a fuck etc.), I am wondering how you think someone (if they can) can become alpha?

That's just it. You can't become an alpha. You're born an alpha.

haha this is less "how to be alpha" and more "20 tips to look like a try-hard"

Great advice, saving this

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great, practical advice. If you follow all this advice it's almost impossible to not be seen as an Alpha.

Thank you very much for this post. I have been incorporating literally everything mentioned for a few months now and I have to say that I have never been so motivated and successful in my endeavors. Bookmarked this post so I can refer to it if I ever catch myself slipping in any aspects of my Alpha lifestyle. Thanks again.

What's the stance on doing any/all of the above sarcastically? Ex. Telling someone I just met that I'm having an awful day and complaining about fake co workers?

[–]scholarly_pimp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Loving the last bit. Definitely do some soul searching and exploring out in the wilderness. Boring people do boring things, exciting people do exciting & interesting things.

[–]wurding -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i support the wilderness idea

[–]Synesthesia4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That was so well said. I've been hanging around doing lots of reading on TRP... While I do agree that a lot of the information available on TheRedPill is correct, and that it will indeed change the dynamic between a man and a woman, it makes me ill that someone in a LTR would resort to abuse and manipulation in this degree to get what they want. What TheRedPill teaches is gaslighting, a form of emotional abuse and manipulation that gradually destroys a partner's self worth and self esteem, makes them question themselves and their sanity, and brainwashes them into staying in a shitty abusive relationship because they feel they don't deserve any better. Is this correct or am I missing something completely? Is this really what men want for their 'life partner' (and yes I realize that your life partner is never your equal in this sub)? If this is what love and marriage is coming to, count me out. Fuck me. This is everything my ex was and more. Why on earth I felt I deserved this and nothing better is baffling. Good riddance.

I don't know if few days without water is a good idea but other than that it's a great advice. And take no phone, tablet, radio or even a book. You will go crazy with your thoughts alone. That's the point of it.

This is fucking disgusting, and the exact opposite of an "Alpha". Putting that much effort into faking your persona is the definition of a coward who can't handle strong, intelligent women. You guys act like you master the way women think and that you couldn't care less about them but in reality you go through all this planning and revolting mentality in order to receive a bit of attention from a woman hahaha it's actually hilarious. This screams "rejected egos". I feel sorry for your life if you're counting the words in your text messages lmao. I wonder if you would be able to utter those degrading words to the woman who birthed and raised you, or to your sisters.

What do y'all do after getting the number?

[–]IWillAlwaysReplyBack -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the work you put into this, but this is really way too simplistic. Alpha is more than just a couple bullets to follow. Alpha means if it comes down mano to mano where you and I have the same need and only one of us can get it fulfilled, who will win out? Who will submit and respect the other while the other gets the need met? If only one can win out, who does? Is one of us able to intimidate the other first? If not, it come down to a fight...if it does, who wins? At the bare essential that is what alpha means, not a superficial list of well-meaning actions to mimic.

Mostly good stuff. I agree this is a good cheat sheet for faking it till one makes it.

Eat as clean as possible.

Good health advice, but not necessarily all that much of an alpha trait. Alpha: "Did you make sure those chicken breasts you prepared for me were grass fed? Are those carrots on the side organically grown?" Umm. No. Alpha don't give a shit.

Again, it's good advice, and there's no reason it can't be incorporated into an alpha personality, but I wouldn't say it comes off as being alpha in itself. Furthermore, just doing this isn't really going to make a beta suddenly become alpha, so I don't think it really belongs on this list.

Touch her. You are entitled to her body.

I know what you mean, and I agree with you, but man... certain other subreddits are going to have a good time linking to and quoting this one... Maybe it could have been worded better. It's like you just took the SJW and feminist wording and just went ahead and said, 'Yeah. That's exactly what men do. They should be entitled to women's bodies.'

Cut out all porn. Experiment with abstaining from masturbation.

Yawn

Who cares what certain other subreddits say?

They can have their panties knotted all they want, while TRP helps its members keep their pimp hand strong.
