Summary: There is a documentary on Netflix called Divorce Corp., which is a documentary that tries to shine light on how corrupt the family law court system is, and how the lawyers/judges work together to extract every last cent from those going through family court in a divorce/custody case. And there are major consequences if you complain. Don't get married.

Men, this is the reality you are facing if you get married. 50% of marriages these days end in divorce. It's not worth it. You are better off taking 50% of your net worth and placing it on a hand of black jack. There is no woman out there that is worth any of the trouble that will happen if she wants a divorce. This is the grim reality. Read all the bullet points I listed of what happens when you go through a divorce and have to go to family court, and tell me if you want to still get married afterward, as there is a 50% chance this will happen to you no matter what you do.

  • First and foremost the Family Law code is very large and complex. In the documentary they show a book full of all the Family Law Laws & Regulations, its huge. So in order to understand it, you need a lawyer.

  • They then brought in a conga line of Family Law lawyers saying they charge $500, $600, $700 an hour. They are not cheap.

  • Therefore the people decide to represent themselves. But the judges will get irritated at these people, and will purposely be biased against them until they fork over the dough for expensive legal representation. In other words, you have no choice but to hire a family law lawyer.

  • These family law lawyers will purposely file a bunch of bullshit motions just to drag out a divorce case, in order to extract every last cent from their clients. A lot of people featured on this program went completely bankrupt and lost everything because of these greedy lawyers milking them for everything they owned. They would put liens on houses, for example, to make sure they got paid.

  • The lawyers and judges have a parasitic, symbiotic relationship that thrives on kickbacks, corruption and collusion. The documentary exposed that the winners of these divorce cases generally tend to be whoever had the attorney who donated most to the election campaign of the judge.

  • These family court judges are able to be judges one day, and attorneys the next, and vice versa.

  • For custody battles, the judges force parents to pay for expensive "Custody Evaluators". Of course, the judges force these parents to pick one of their own handpicked evaluators, who obviously kickback some of that money back to the judge.

  • These custody evaluators require no special certifications, licenses, or training. One of the evaluators exposed on the program was a filthy rich faggot, literally. They showed a bunch of pictures of this guy requesting "bareback anal sex" amongst other things, and wearing dominatrix clothing. And he wasn't ashamed to admit it. And this is the guy who is deciding whether or not you are a good parent. A faggot riding the gay cock carousel. And he was still employed and forced onto parents as a custody evaluator even after he appeared on the documentary.

  • A family court judge was secretly filmed on camera beating the shit out of his disabled daughter with a belt. He was not punished in any way, and is still a family court judge today.

  • The first amendment doesn't matter in family court. You have no rights. One guy was sentenced to 5 years in prison for "judge intimidation" because he criticized his family court judge on his blog. 5 years in prison. Think about it.

  • Another guy was senteneced to 60 days in jail for criticizing his family court judge on his Facebook. He was offered the option of writing an apology every day for 60 days, or serving out the jail sentence. It even showed video footage of the judge handing down his ruling, saying "You are no warrior for the 1st amendment", basically mocking the guy for trying to use the 1st amendment as a defense.

  • One guy was fired for his job because he filed an appeal of his case because he thought he had a biased judge. He was biased because his ex's attorney was good friends with the judge and donated heavily to his election campaign. This judge retaliated by calling up his job and getting him fired because he had a friend in an executive position there.

  • These judges will use their tyranny to prevent men featured on the documentary(and a couple of women, to be fair) to prevent them from seeing their children at all. A lot of the parents featured haven't seen their kids in years because of these corrupt judges ruling against them because they complained, or had an attorney the judge didn't like, etc.

  • These judges are above the law. Out of the 1,000+ complaints against Family Court Judges in California in 2014, not one was ever led to any kind of discipline against a judge.

  • There is a lot more in this documentary that I didn't list, this is just what I remember from watching it for the first time last night. It made me rage for the entire duration.

You know why courts are this bad? There are several reasons, one is that people who want to work in government positions are fucking lazy. They want to sit at a desk for 8 hours playing on their phones and out the door before quitting time. They have unions so they can't get fired. They do things at their own pace and get our tax dollars for it.

I have worked with many men who used to be in government jobs and they ran screaming because they couldn't get shit done. One guy even left a Canadian government job because he was trying to automate document processing but the harpies in the office kept screaming that he was killing jobs.

So there's a lot of apathy for the job, they see themselves as entitled to it. Plus most of the people working in the court system are women.

Another reason is that most people have no idea what will happen in the court until they get the divorce papers. If you want to help make the system better, do research on the judges that are elected. Most people don't vote for judges or just vote for the incumbent, so nothing changes.

If you are willing to martyr I beg you to dedicate yourself to learning the law, letting every man going through your community know he has unqualified support. Quit your job and help other men. Starting a nonprofit to support men and spread knowledge about the family law whores. You can do more with the spread of knowledge than the through violence. Yes, prevention is the best medicine, and not getting married is objectively the best step one can take to not only avoid getting fucked by such a system, but in reducing, or at the very least not feeding it. But it's not enough, you may not be able to avoid family court if you have children. So is the solution to also not have kids? I'm sure that works for a lot of guys here, but quite a few probably want to have a legacy. Should they sacrifice that goal to avoid the possibility of a judge destroying their lives?

No, life is about calculated risks, and while the benefits marriage brings are not worth the risks, having children does. So you go ahead, you play your hand the best you can, convince the mother of those kids that it would be a supremely bad idea to get anywhere near a family courtroom. But you also plan for contingencies. I will live my life in the best way possible, stay away from both the courtroom and the hospital, and build something good. But in the unlikely chance I find myself in the same situation as the people in that documentary, I will not take it lying. There's nothing noble about that. Inherent intelligence is by a large margin the single greatest independent variable for a whole host of things, including and especially marriage. Forethought and impulsiveness have a massive effect on both promiscuity and divorce.

It's been a while since I looked at the numbers, but for a woman with an IQ of 125 or above (about HPY median intelligence) and the socioeconomic status of a Stanford/Ivy grad her likelihood of divorce is probably no more than 5%. If she's been chaste relative to her peers, it's lower.

All women share certain basic traits, yes, but not equally.

One of the primary things higher intelligence does is give a person a longer time horizon. Conversely, the lower the IQ, the more people live exclusively in the moment--with no thought to a past they can't much remember and a future they can't really predict. This is why IQ is also the biggest influence on all sorts of other things, like obesity, drug addiction, income, indebtedness, etc.

And IQ is mostly inherited from your parents. So when high IQ and the female sex cross paths what you generally find--not always, but most of the time--is a woman from a solid family, with a smart stable dad, good schools, hasn't wasted excessive time consuming useless media, not a slut, etc.

Basically, a girl from good circumstances isn't feral in the way that the open-legged tattooed brainless slut is. In reality, doing surgery while inebriated and hurting (much less killing someone) would be a criminal case, not a civil med malpractice. See ex-Dr. Duntsch of Texas and his aggravated assault charges. That's NOT a typical med malpractice case.

I find it hilarious how people are gung-ho for stopping excessive financial penalties for themselves (e.g. here in child support or alimony) but not for someone else. Vast majority of med malpractice cases are B.S. fishing expeditions by greedy attorneys. I read this post and realized you have NO STINKING IDEA what it is like to get divorced. Here are some points for you to consider from my divorce 22 years ago.

  1. She will get the house. If you have a house and kids, she will get the house. She won't own it outright, but she will live in it and you will have to shift for yourself.

  2. She will get child support. Now this is the one thing I never argued about. I paid child support because I made 4 kids. It was my responsibility as a father to provide for them. Any deadbeat who makes kids and then won't provide for them should be fitted with cement galoshes.

  3. She will get alimony. The judge can set just about any "reasonable" amount for alimony. I paid 10% of my income as alimony.... on top of child support that amounted to 40% of my income.

  4. She will immediately start looking for one to ride. She will ride high and she will ride often because femimperative.

  5. She will get married in secret and you will have to continue to pay alimony while she lives in the house you built.

  6. She will tell everyone who listens how you abused her. She will tell them you abused the kids. She will make every possible effort to keep you from seeing your kids.

  7. She will make just about every financial mistake a person can make including borrowing money from a loan shark aka private 500% interest loan.

  8. She will make every possible effort to prove that you caused the divorce. After all, that is the easiest way to assure you continue to pay and she gets to live in the house.

I could tell more but it would sound like something that belongs on a daytime soap opera. DON'T GET MARRIED!!!!!

Well take my size and fit me up for cement galoshes, whatever they are. I was 27 and worth 600k clear from working dangerous jobs since i was 17. Went to college to get a real education and was kicked out by the ex when she found out she was pregnant with our second child. No big suprise as i was weak. She got over 100% when my debt and superannuation was taken (401k is the U.S equivalent ) I was a year away from graduating and all of a sudden sleeping in a car. Judge said my income potential was high and hers was nil therefore she got it all. I am now on a pension where she cant legally touch it. I stopped helping her out with extra money and school fees when she started trouble again. She gets nothing now and my new wealth, for what it is, will help my kids when they get old enough.

Divorce court is fundamentally unjust. Even if you and your spouse agree on everything after a split, divorce courts just add tons of costs and complexity to what could be a simple split. Of course, here in California "common law marriage" forces people into divorce court if they live together long enough. And the movie, Divorce Corp, describes how simple an fair divorce is in some other countries (I think they use Finland as an example).

My brother is in his late 20's and considering tying the knot. It's killing me. I know he's with a "great girl", as they always are when people enter into marriage. I'm fine if he stays with her forever, I just hope he doesn't make the mistake of entering into that contract with the state.

In the UK there is not, and never has been, Common Law Marriage, you have to sign that contract.

In Scotland, if there are no children under 16, and you have lived separately for one year, and both agree to the divorce, then you can get one, otherwise if one partner refused consent you have to live apart for 2 years. They prefer a clean break with division of assets, no alimony unless it leaves one partner (no prizes for guessing which one) in difficulties, in which case there may be a provision for a short period while she gets her shit together. If the two parties can agree on the wealth distribution, then you can get a simplified divorce, no need to go to court or hire solicitors. The cost is £104 and is complete in a couple of months. If there are children under 16 then you have to follow the Ordinary Procedure rather than the Simplified Procedure, and it costs £195 (still no need for a solicitor, I believe). If there is any dispute about the division of assets then that is when you hire solicitors, but in general (unless we are talking about very rich people) it isn't a huge and expensive deal, from what I know of friends who got divorced.

You can also get a DIY divorce in England and Wales (see the menu item in the above company). Slightly different procedure and forms, and in England they can have alimony, but again if the divorce is amicable then you don't need solicitors or family courts.

Then you can get big injustice, as with the other case on the front page here of a scumbag trying to gouge millions out of a guy who made his money several years after the divorce.

^ It's amazing to realize that absolutely all of that is completely false in modern society. Excessive bail is common, excessive fines are rampant (especially if you consider civil forfeiture which is essentially cops stealing cash off citizens with zero accountability) and we absolutely do have cruel and unusual punishments, for example if an 18yo has consensual sex with a 16yo, his name goes on the sex offender registry for the world to see, and he'll have an incredibly difficult job getting any sort of employment for his entire lifetime, not to mention being beaten half to death in prison and being forced to live in special locations far away from parks and school. If that's not considered cruel and unusual punishment then I don't know what is.

Pretty sure that 50% drops to 25% if you both have bachelors, and less if you have even higher, but there are many other factors that can raise it, for example, if your or your partner's parents are divorced.

Truth is, there are ways to severely reduce your risks, but then you'll be choosing from a pool of women that is getting ever smaller in today's society.

From what I've read and seen amongst upper class families, marriage is still a political alliance between families and there is a lot of pressure to stay married for stability and no illusions about what it is.

I see that in my life. Powerful families merging with other powerful families, and from what I've seen, despite the business-like nature of it, the relationships seem relatively healthy compared to the average post-wall relationships of lower castes.

I just laugh when I see people cite the 50% figure. In reality, it varies widely as it is dependent on a number of factors. For myself, if I married a girl with a family of equal wealth and education, whose parents are still married, the probability of divorce would be closer to 10% than 50%.

I would argue that the business like relationship of it helps because they are not doing it for their own interests, but for something larger then themselves and there is a family legacy at risk as well as a large incentive to stay married.

I've lived through it. I had a glimmer of insight into the workings early on when I saw what actions my wife's lawyer was taking. I communicated this to my wife in between hearings to absolutely no effect. I wonder why. Her lawyer (later admittedly hated men according to my now ex wife) doubled down on her efforts to squelch me, going as far as to manipulate my ex into using my mother (a diagnosed bi-polar) to file a custody order against me. Now, that's not what it sounds like, it's a knee-jerk law (not more than 5 years old) in order to forcibly give someone a mental health evaluation if they refuse an option to volunteer when accused of "suicidal ideation" (at least that's what it's called in USC - not sure what the state code used against me was). I was disarmed while in uniform at my place of work and I believe this eventually led to my removal from my law enforcement position for the fact that no one in my chain of command knew what was happening to me. The rest was just as typical as what I'm sure you all will see in the documentary.

Holy fucking shit that makes me so incredibly angry. It's a blatant witch hunt. We used to laugh at how ignorant and sadistic people were in the 1500s, yet anyone can either a) make a false rape accusation and ruin someone's life with zero accountability, or b) make a false suicide accusation and ruin someone's life with zero accountability.

It's absolutely, utterly fucked and I don't understand it at all. Is there really no way to avoid getting fucked by it? As in, can you tell them "I'm not suicidal and I do not consent" and get them to back off? How the hell can cops arrest you and throw you in a psych ward when you're not even suicidal?

While I was not arrested, I was detained and forced to undergo an evaluation.

The only way to avoid dealing with that sort of thing is to avoid the people who know how to abuse the legal process. However, the last line of defense is a magistrate with the presence of mind not to accept the complaint. Another way to at least skirt this abuse, I would imagine, is to agree to the evaluation and then never go, just keep rescheduling - I didn't see anything in the legal language about any way to force someone who has agreed but never actually goes through with the appointment.

It's all just very fucked. I am not a lawyer, so take all of that with a grain of salt. I was just blown away with what a "civil" court can do to your life when you have someone willing to swear to false statements.
