MetaNo Fap November (self.TheRedPill)

submitted by VinDecent

For a lot of people, the quickest way to get out of a rut starts with a changing a single habit. These habits are coined as "keystone habits" by Charles Duhigg in The Power of Habit. Examples include making your bed, exercising, and meditation. He explains these habits as being the lead dominoes for many people, making change in other areas of their lives simpler.

Throughout my experimentation over the last 3-4 years, I noticed that refraining from masturbation helped me focus more, procrastinate less, and have noticeably more confidence around women. In essence, it was one of my keystone habits. I am speaking purely anecdotally of course; the science isn't definitive to support these claims. Be that as it may, I believe there is power in the ability to flexing your willpower muscles and that, at the very least, has a positive ROI worth experimenting with this month.

For the next month, I implore you to join me in No Fap November. For the next 30 days, I will not masturbate. I will not watch porn. I will not "edge". I will however, approach women and have consensual sex. I will battle my monkey mind and focus my energy on meditating or exercising or a cold shower when I start getting horny. I will force myself to socialize and push myself outside of my comfort zone instead of staying in, eating pizza, and jerking off.

I have a feeling this post will be met with a lot of resistance and that "masturbation is healthy". I get that and completely agree. Moderate, controlled masturbation is completely natural and beneficial, probably more so than abstinence. With that being said, binge (everyday or multiple times per day) masturbation is not and a kick start such as No Fap can help foster healthier long-term habits. On top of that, the mental challenge can help build willpower (in theory) that will spill over into other areas of your life.

If you're not on board with giving up masturbation, I encourage you to give up porn instead. There are countless studies done on the negative side effects of over consumption of porn. Another idea could be to cut back your masturbation to once a week or something similar. Either way, I hope this thread can be a thoughtful discussion and support group for those of us challenging ourselves this month. Let's do it!

I'm down. I'm 5.5 hours in.

[–]Schwaggaccino 51 points52 points  (1 child)

7 hours here. I’m feeling good might even hit 8.

[–][deleted] 211 points212 points  (29 children)

I recently started fapping again, just a few times and I remembered how shit you feel afterward for the whole day...like you can't do anything and you just want to lay there. It's awful. After taking a break from fapping, going out and lifting for a month, going back felt so bad. I'm gonna do No Fap but not just for November, I'm never going back.

[–]CarlosPedro 43 points44 points  (17 children)

I have the same thing. Getting some advanced health tests done because its definitely a hormonal thing.

Most of the men I've met who are just naturally more manly or have lots of energy, they don't feel the deadness afterward. In fact Jerking off seems to give them energy.

[–]follow_that_rabbit 15 points16 points  (13 children)

Maybe they tell you so to look more manly and more T producing (you masturbate more because you are horny more often because you produce more Testosterone). I'm not saying it couldn't be true at all but always assume bullshit.

[–]ThroatPoka 15 points16 points  (11 children)

I'm with you on the call BS thing, but only during brief bouts of depression have I ever felt worse after a wank. Typically I feel great after, and more energized and focused. But I'm never proud of what I just did ... especially if I just watched something real fucked up.

[–]follow_that_rabbit 26 points27 points  (9 children)

Follow the golden rule:

Quit porn entirely. Shit is bad for your hormones and brain. If you need to bust a nut, fap but bot with porn.

[–]ThroatPoka 3 points4 points  (8 children)

Nah, I like porn. Only watch it a few times a month anyway, if that. LTR likes watching and making porn with me too, so it works out. Riding my motorcycle, home improvement work, making money, excercise, and consistent sex keep my T levels nice and elevated, so that if I do occasionally wanna watch some "actress" literally choke on a dick it has next to zero effect on me and my precious hormones.

[–]follow_that_rabbit 19 points20 points  (7 children)

You do you, it's fair.

Just try to refrain from watching it when you don't feel great (little bouts of depression, as you called them) and try to clear the mind. Just shooting my shit.

[–]ThroatPoka 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with that sentiment.

[–]coolman1001 2 points3 points  (5 children)

Can you go on more about avoiding it during negative head dosages? What is your reasoning to this?

[–]follow_that_rabbit 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Cumming to porn is a cheap and easy dopamine rush, with little to zero effort to achieve it. Just like a heroin injection. Similar to dope, there is an up period (when you peak and cum) and a down period in which you feel unsatisfied because the dopamine effect wears out and your dopamine receptors craves more. Lots of pubblications ties the downs of dopamine to some kind of depression.

The question you now you are doing to to yourself is: but why when i cum with another human being i don't feel depressed after? Because turns out your body can differentiate between cumming to masturbation and with another person. Found all of this in a old post in there. Also who posted it had some valid points from where i researched further. If you're interested i'll PM you the link.

[–]deeman010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt exactly as you guys were talking about, depressed/ low energy after jacking off but that was when I did it daily/ every other day. Now, I do it every 2/3 days and I don’t feel anything/ feel even better. Worth noting that I have prostate problems and if I don’t ejaculate for extended periods of time ( a few days), it gets hard for me to pee.

[–]1scissor_me_timbers00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think some stems from the shame and stress-cortisol response afterwards that they've conditioned themselves into. I had that myself for a long time so I know it's very real. But I'm not convinced it was entirely natural. I know guys who masturbated frequently who never seemed burdened at all by it.

[–]Accendino69 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I like fapping before working out ( 1-2 hours before ), I'm 1000x times more concentrated and thus I can train harder.

[–]CarlosPedro 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yea that's alien to me. I feel super soft after fapping. And doing something mentally intensive like practicing Spanish or reading? Forget about it

[–]Epictetus2017 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I observed similar reactions to you. I could not lift as much, and I became more introverted. Fatigue as well, harder to wake up.

However, after sex with a woman, it is the complete opposite for about three days.

[–]user_none 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I know what you mean with the usage of "you" in your writing. However, using "I" is more accurate and taking ownership of your experience. "You" can come off as projection. "I" conveys, "I did this. I fucking own it." Strange thing is, you've flipped from "I" to "you", and back to "I".

[–]sergeantbbbbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate this is my number one tip to self improvement - change "you" for "I" - I find it accelerates the process very quickly!

[–]primatepicasso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too its poison as hell man, never going to touch that shit again

[–]Green_Doreato 1 points1 points [recovered]

Do you feel the way after sex ?

[–]Popular-Culture -1 points0 points  (1 child)

There's a scientific explanation for this. Ejaculation results in a short-term, temporary decrease in testosterone. This is why Ali would abstain from sex for 6 weeks before fights.

[–]TheDeadlyZebra 14 points15 points  (4 children)

I recommend cutting down. It's difficult, but I noticed that when I binge masturbate (or have a lot of sex), I get irritable the next day and more depressed.

When I don't masturbate (or fuck) for about a week, I start to feel less masculine and sort of bland.

I think twice (or possibly three times) per week is optimal. Your experience may vary.

[–]mexicanbeast 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Yeah, and you also dont want to cum in like literally 10 secs with a girl when you havent fapped in a while. Its happened to me after not fapping for like 50 days. Didnt even enjoy it until the second round

[–]TheDeadlyZebra 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Yeah, those cums are the worst when you can't even savor the full cumming process

[–]FuckMichaelMcCoy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Once every 3 or 7 days works best for me. I feel shitty the day after but day 3 I feel like myself again.

[–]anonswede 67 points68 points  (5 children)

I'm down, already 28 days in.

[–] points points

[permanently deleted]

[–]bikermonk 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Just saw this. One minute in.

[–]SwoleyMoleyFrijoley 20 points21 points  (5 children)

Nofapper for roughly 3 years. There is no better motivation than "put up or shut up". You either get laid, or you get nothing. Your internal drive takes over and you have a huge edge over anyone else. Plus, go two weeks without coming, watch women's IOIs increase tenfold. They can smell it on you.

[–][deleted] 42 points43 points  (4 children)

Already a NoFapper, life changed.

The funniest memory I have of my first months is when I went to bed one night with "that" area almost on fire, and suddenly started feeling heat coming out of every part of my body. One year later, I tamed the beast and love what I've become.

[–]hb8only 1 points1 points [recovered]

had 114 days max.. then 78days..

find out more than 6-8 weeks has negative effects on the body...

[–]buddhadarko 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not a specialist/psychologist or anything, but I can't see the harm in doing it once in a while. In moderation, it's probably okay and shouldn't throw you off balance enough to be affect your mental state. However, with the incredibly easy access to porn that we all have, fapping has probably reached unhealthy levels around the world. I highly doubt that men in the 1800's were fapping as much as your average 17 year old today.

[–]lifestuff69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think everyone should do this. I implemented NoFap 182 days ago according to my counter, and I am happy I did.

Like you said, ending this habit can help you build better ones. Skeptics might want to consider this: why the fuck are you sitting around the house jerking off? Why aren't you doing something productive (books, projects, gym, etc.) or meeting ladies to fuck? I wasted a bunch of time jerking off during the end of my first marriage and afterwards and it was pathetic. Stop that.

My current policy is that I don't jerk off. Ever. Masturbation is "healthy" when viewed as a substitute for regular sex. For example, men who ejaculate more than a few times a week have a significantly lower change of developing prostate cancer. Both masturbation and sex provide this same benefit, but sex provides even more benefits. Choose that over masturbation, and use the drive of not getting laid to improve yourself and make it happen.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (3 children)

I really do not need guys in white suits and few papers to tell me nofap works! I know myself it works - does not matter how it sounds, on nofap I am another person, tenfold better. Voice, confidence, vibe, inner stability, eye contact, energy, wit, and so on. And no..I am not mentally unstable incel, I am pretty good looking succesfull guy.

Anyway what is REALLY bugging me about nofap..actually, let me tell it this way: I cant remember a thing in my life I did not finish, be it exercise program, language school, dieting, building website..when I started something I finished it. Even fucking cold showers in middle of winter in Eastern Europe. But ONE THING I am struggling with for years..and I mean 4-5 years is NoFap...5 days is my record..after that one way or another I fail.

I am like that average man who saves money until he saves first 100$, then he feels like I have money and spends it immediately. Yesterday after 4 days not choking it I throw it three (3!!) times during the night.

This time I will do it, I will fucking CONQUER this challenge and be the man I want to be.

[–]chivibes 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Hey man, I think I'm currently in a similar place as you. My longest streak on NoFap is about 11 days, and I'm currently on an 8 day streak. What I'm currently doing is a 30-day experiment to see what will happen when I quit PMO. I've read so much in regards to whether PMO is harmful or not, that I decided, fuck it, I'm just going to do my own experiment. I trust myself more than anyone else on the internet. Now, 8 days in, whenever I get urges to PMO, I just mentally remind myself that I'm trying this for 30 days. Remember, it's an experiment, so your brain won't feel like it's getting rid of it's favorite stress reliever and pleasure forever. Just for 30 days. It's a win-win, because I get to see whether I have real, concrete changes, or if NoFap is 100% bullshit. Either way I'm walking down the path of finding out the truth for myself. I want to suggest you undertake a similar path. Best of luck.

[–]losburatinos 24 points25 points  (8 children)

To be fair, nofap does not feel right to me. I went about 3 weeks nofap (no sex either) and I could feel that canals in my dick or whatever were actually blocked and it took me a while and was painful to come after I broke nofap. Even after a week I feel very uncomfortable in my balls. Right now I limit myself to very short fap sessions where I barely spend 5 minutes on that, no porn, just a bit of lube and imagination. Very technical process - only to release the pressure. And to be fair I can't concentrate on work when I have not fapped for a while. Fap and then boom - mind works like a charm.

[–]lawlyer1216 25 points26 points  (5 children)

prostate cancer runs in my family. gotta keep those pipes flowing

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Me too. I just read up on that. Wow, it's a thing.

[–]WolfofAnarchy 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Yeah, with sex. Not literally fucking yourself. I mean, once a week or so is alright, but sex is way healthier and more fun, obviously.

[–]lawlyer1216 65 points66 points  (2 children)

go get laid or get cancer. no extra pressure or anything

[–]WolfofAnarchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

by now TRP has given you all the tools you need.

And not masturbating won't give you cancer for sure or something, it's just a little more prevalent.

[–]midnightrequest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm the opposite. I feel a bit distracted and tired after I fap, plus I see really good benefits from abstaining like deeper voice etc. so I limit myself to once every 4-5 days.

[–]imaginethegainz 10 points11 points  (10 children)

I just went for 22 days and I felt like a depressed sack of shit the entire time. They say that it isn't NoFap alone that changes you, but rather the increased energy it gives you which allows you to have more motovation to do things, thus snowballing into becoming a better person.

[–]chivibes 17 points18 points  (2 children)

Did you ever consider that you might have felt depressed because you are addicted to the dopamine hits from PMO? The official website for NoFap states that you need 90 days to reset your receptors, sometimes longer.

[–]imaginethegainz 4 points5 points  (1 child)

That's what I'm generally confused about. I'm pretty sure I'm not addicted because I normally jerk off once every 2-3 days and I don't even need/desire porn 50% of the time. However, I've been trying to get to 90 days for almost a year now and if that's hard for me, I guess I am addicted? I'm not sure, but I'll keep trying.

[–]CandleLess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I guess if you can't go longer than 3 days you're probably addicted

[–]anonswede 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That's the dopamine talking, there's a reason the most recommended duration for a "reset" is 90 days.

I'm definitely feeling less depressed and socially anxious so far.

[–]FuckMichaelMcCoy 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Same here, I feel way better doing it once every 7 days. It peaks around day 7 and then slowly goes back down.

After day 10 I started feeling numb to shit. Like a bitch would eye fuck me and I didnt feel a surge of sexual energy like I would if I was around 4 days no fap. I think its called the hardline where you feel like shit and lose your sex drive.

[–]chivibes 1 points1 points [recovered]

You're supposed to push past that. It's your brain resisting and wanting to get back to it's comfort zone. What lies on the other side is true self esteem and power.

[–]FuckMichaelMcCoy 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How long is past it? 1 month? 2 months?

[–]WorldNewPilla 4 points5 points  (1 child)

yeah lets go :) good luck all

[–]TRPorDIE 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Already >150 days in, it's a game changer. Do it.

Seriously.

Fucking my GF like I never did before, she cums like a maniac

[–]BokehClasses 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you do nofap with an intention of improving your success with girls you are still beta.

Nofap just makes ypur lust go into overdrive, which means you let your lust control your life. Sounds pretty blue pilled to me.

Besides, masturbastion is so much safet than actual sex nowadays (STIs, getting robbed, AIDS, false accusations etc.)

Do people water fast just so they can binge eat aftet finishing their fast? That's clearly unhealthy.

All forms of restriction should be done for the sole purpose of becoming a mentally stronger individual. They shouldn't be done for short term goals.

[–]1mental_models 2 points3 points  (0 children)

'Temperence' is one of the cardinal virtues. Mastering the cardinal virtues can be a useful self-improvement tool for most men.

TEMPERANCE = "Stay on your path to success" (Moderation. Rational behavior. Long-term success >>> Short-term impulses)

[–]tibikush2012 16 points17 points  (14 children)

Why is this no fap thingy a thing?

I fap like crazy when I am single and my sex life, social life, anything life is just fine

[–]Skerc 46 points47 points  (4 children)

Aah okay,if your life is fine then NoFap must be a lie.

[–]tibikush2012 12 points13 points  (1 child)

I really have no idea what is the problem with fapping unless it hinders your life socially.

Science and medicine disagree with the claims of no fap. If it makes you feel better do it... But I don't understand what it has to do with self improvement...

n.b Again, if you have serious addiction (fapping non stop per day) than by all means stop. But if you do it casually (like drinking) I don't understand why somoene souldn't fap

[–]party_next_door 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is alike doing drugs, you can choose to do it anywhere to get your 'fix' so some people can fit that lifestyle into their schedule and some have to schedule specifically for it (ritualistic) resulting in less time to focus on things of higher priority.

Getting off anywhere anytime or having too go too your den / fap throne (computer chair).

Making it too routine and less when you feel like you need it is bad.

Everything in moderation or what works best for you honestly.

[–]askmrcia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You know what the answer to this. A lot of guys in their mid twenties and younger are experiencing erectile dysfunction and the correlation of guys experience seem to revolve around watching porn and masturbating.

So it makes sense to cut down on this.

Me personally I'm like you. I still watch porn and masturbate, but and I still have a good sex life. Does my dick go limp sometimes when having sex? Yes.

But I watch porn maybe a few times a week where a lot of guys are watching it multiple times a day. Guys are doing it as a time waster and not when they are really horny. So that could have some negative effects on the blood-flow of the penis or have effects on your brain. I'm not a doctor, but based on a lot of guys experiences, this is why.

Hope this answers your question.

[–]BreakingRed_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because not everyone is you.

[–]1mental_models 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because there is a market for it

[–]1mental_models 7 points8 points  (2 children)

I jerk off when ever I feel like it. Probably a good 3 or 4 times a month. Once in a while jerk off to a face on skype w/ a long-distance social-media friend (which is basically the same as porn or cam whores). It's awesome. I would encourage you to do it, but it's kind of an odd topic, that I wouldn't make random general suggestions about, -plus I just read your post saying you are making a resolution to stop jerking off.

I understand that there is a such thing as a 'Nofap' movement/online-community. I get that some people benefit from the group dynamics, and that some people have reached diminishing returns with porn/masturbation to the point of an addiction of which they would benefit from conquering.

If this is a part of your personal improvement/growth/path, then I wish you success.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Dude, up to 5 times a month is also considered Nofap. Guys who want to get rid of it are fapping anywhere 20-50 times a month. Some probably even more.

Actually "few times a month" is the only way I do nofap.

[–]trp_nofap_rewire2018 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been in the healing process since June. I can personally say this shit works wonders.

Count me in OP!

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points  (6 children)

Wrong Sub.

If you're so pathetic you can't keep your hand off your peepee to the point it's a problem, then TRP is not for you.

Think about that for a minute... Your issue in life is you can't stop jerking off.

Here's an idea... stop focusing on jerking off. Or not jerking off.

Keep your hand out of your pants.

There. Fixed.

Discipline yourself.

Nofap....A feel good support group for weak men who simply can't keep from jerking themselves off, both literally and figuratively. The circlejerks are epic. Most egregious.

There's an overwhelming umbrella of, " that's ok, you'll get it next time" " You didn't fail, just start over", " good for you!".

External validation and affirmations thrown around haphazardly on top of worthless platitudes.

If you have a problem to the point where you masturbate too much, THE WORST THING YOU CAN DO is hang around other people that jerk it too much.

It doesn't fix the problem, it actually gives it power.

"It's not a fault in you... it's an ADDICTION."

Fuckers need to get a grip (not like that, perv) and realize the only way to change any behaviour is to develop the discipline to overcome it yourself.

But, it's way easier to place the blame on anything but yourself, and well, there's a supportive community of people with the same problem all running around saying you're ok, giving you all the external validation you can swallow.

"It's OK that you can't keep your hands off your peepee!"

No.

No it's not. Fucking have some respect for yourself.

By definition, if you're there, you're weak. That, by definition, creates a circular loop of weak people convincing weaklings it's ok to be weak. Like any sub that prioritizes feeling over fixing, it becomes a giant echo chamber in which nothing gets resolved but the shouting never stops. Dead bedrooms, anyone?

Not where you want to be if you're weak.

Bring on the downvotes, wankers! If you can let go of your tiny dicks for long enough to vote, that is.

[–]Endorsed Contributormallardcove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't upvote enough. The no fap crowd are the red pill betas that GLO talked about in his post today

[–]Lendoran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember reading a comment where a guy stated that he hadn't fapped for a month and one day just gave in. Once he did, all his confidence had completely disappeared and all his "alphaness" had gone down the drain.

Mate... if your confidence is dependant on whether or not you stroke your dick, you've got a problem.

[–]anonswede 3 points4 points  (2 children)

This is TRP, not nofap. You're arguing on the wrong sub.

We're not in it for magical superpowers or "semen retention", nor will anyone pat anyone on the back and blame addiction over the man for failure, it's about discipline and breaking destructive habits.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

My overriding intention was to argue this does NOT belong on TRP at all... take it to nofap... So ? thanks for agreeing?

If your overriding problem is you can't stop jerking off, then fix that shit first before you attempt becoming a man.

Serious... Think about it.. You can't help yourself. You jerk off to the point it interferes with your plan to be an awesome motherfucker who doesn't need to jerk off because you can booty call women 24/7 that'll come and suck the poison out of your dick at a moments' notice?

Thats TRP.

[–]1mental_models 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree w/ you.

Nofap is simply a beta cult. call it a cult, call it a market demographic/target audience whatever

rough formula = actual jerkoffs/porn-addicts + those who feel morally 'guilty' about/after wanking + random naive bluepills who want to belong to something/anything and can certainly identify with jerking their dick

"wow I feel motivated when i'm very horny, and wow I feel a slight decrease in T and dopamine after I bust a nut!" turns into:

"wow LIFE CHANGED! etc... regurgitate+amplify etc..." circle-J

Yes, if you can't remove the hand from the pee-pee and lack the self control to not stay in and jerk off every time you get horny, you have some serious work to do on yourself.

After you obtain competence with those basic visceral issues, Red Pill is a great place to expand your circle of competence.

Or, if you think you are ready for the Red Pill approach, re-read Triadis3' post w/ an open mind.

It's a red flag that this thread got 350 likes...

I don't see how this is a challenge, if you're doing what you should be; your dick should be too sore from women to crank one out.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

stopped fapping since last wednesday on my longest streak and my sex life has never been better

[–]foxmaestro1 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Hey man . Im inwith you !! 350 days now on nofap

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already went NoFap months ago. So I'm in. I've only lapsed a couple times. Basically, at the end of a night of a lot of partying and drugs, my girl and I usually have drugged up sex. I love that. A couple times she was too blacked out though and I have trouble sleeping when I'm like that. Nutting makes me really tired and is a lot healthier than sleeping pills so I allow myself in those situations if I need it.

I totally agree that masturbating once in a while is fine, probably even beneficial. I was using porn and masturbating 1-2x day on average and I don't think that was a good use of my time.

Also, I think that ejaculating does two things. First, it drains my energy and makes me tired. This is well understood medically. On the other hand, it helps me get my mind off sex. Sex also helps achieve the latter, so I don't feel like I need to masturbate, as I get steady sex.

[–]Rudeyyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already jacked it before I saw this post. I guess I'll go from November 2nd to December 2nd.

But I know where you're coming from OP. There was this urge around day 8-10 where I just felt like the biggest guy in the room and i'm 5'4. I had this driven confidence in me to approach these 2 hot chicks in my classes and while one rejected me the other said yes. We're going out saturday. I came this morning but honestly, I think abstaining definitely boosts confidence. I think it's the male prime instinct kicking in telling us to get out there because we haven't came in X amount of days. When we jerk off the brain thinks we had sex so it doesn't do this. But when we abstain shit gets real.

Don't expect me to give up any of my worldly pleasures. If I wanted to do that, I'd return to religion. Life is short. Medical science can't cure shit. Most people die sooner than they expect. Try to have some fun.

I'm a game developer and i love games. I play only at the end of the day. I go gym, i do read books, i do socialize.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He could be reading philosophy or learning a foreign language or stretching or even reading a fucking novel. There are tons of things to do in your free time that do not involve sex and gym that are beneficial for you.

[–]alexander_the_groovy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never tried this but have always felt shitty after watching porn. Let's do this brothers!

[–]NobleFarore -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For those of you that think nofap will negatively impact your sexual performance ... think again.

I started nofap a couple months ago and my sexual performance has actually increased. I am able to go a lot longer and my erections are stronger. However, I am also going to the gym 6 days a week and I take a few different vitamins a day. My diet is pretty good and I drink a lot of water every day.

The above combined with getting laid at least once a week means ... you never need to really fap. Just live a healthy lifestyle and you'll generally feel better. Feeling better means you'll have a well-performing body and psyche. A strong body and mind will give you confidence to Game women. Strong Game gets you laid consistently, meaning you won't need to fap.

It's a pretty straight-forward progression. Take care of yourself and you'll get laid frequently. Full stop.

[–]llkkzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been addictedto fapping for a long time. Want to become a strong healthy man again. I'll join you! I need to change a lot of my habits so I am going monk mode in Nov.

I think our ancestors definitely masturbated. What they didn’t have was porn, which gives you feeling of fucking a 10/10 without any work and fucks your dopamine receptors./reward system

[–]losburatinos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bonobos masturbate, why do you think humans did not masturbate?

I haven’t jacked off since sometime in the end of may. But I still look at porn and then think about it later when I’m having sex.

[–]chivibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's some crazy willpower you have right there.

[–]5t3fan0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok OP, ill give this a go

are you gonna make a new thread for progresses or something of the kind?

[–]Estus- 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I'm so disappointed I blew (literally) a 72 day streak last week (my longest ever), wish I could've seen a post like this here back then instead of the garbage I saw on another subreddit that triggered me to relapse. One of the worst relapse(s) I've ever had in my life, was in a rut for the next 2 days over it.

I'm in, I want to go further this time.

[–]Einzakin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IN! Day 4 right now. Gonna be horny as a teenager by the end of the month

[–]izi_ningishzidda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And some of us grownups are celebrating Movember instead...

[–]ConsumingImpulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole month? Im one of those guys who extols the virtues of nofap, but I doubt I could maintain the entire month. Especially with compound lifts and especially with taking ZMA, one dose of which seems to turn me into a total rando overnight all over again (and I mainly use it as a sleep aid). Interesting! I'll see how far I can get. Plates to the rescue!

[–]CandleLess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm like 7 days in so let's do it

[–]burner138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in the case of no Fap, does banging an LTR or plate count as a fap or a release?

[–]Bucefa1 0 points1 point  (5 children)

I don't understand why people intentionally put themselves in uncomfortable position. Dude like really, i have no active sexual life, but the only thing that stops me from fapping is that i am really fucking busy with university, gym and work the only thing i want to do when i get home is browse some reddit and go sleep. The only reason you fap is because you are bored, thats it. And jeez, you can fap how much you want until it causes a physiological or psychological damage.

[–]WolfofAnarchy 21 points22 points  (2 children)

I don't understand why people intentionally put themselves in uncomfortable position.

Because discomfort fuels growth.

I don't understand why you have upvotes. This whole sub used to be about building 'grit', pushing through when you're not comfortable, pushing your boundaries, dropping bad habits, and forcing yourself into action and improvement.

Now we get comments asking 'why be uncomfortable when I can be comfortable.'

[–]Bucefa1 1 point2 points  (1 child)

We set our own boundaries, by thinking that occasional masturbation causes physchological damage, subcounsciously it really does. We talk here about people that lose motivation, and get depression due to masturbation. But we never mention people that still masutrbate without even thinking about the consequences and yet, they don't have the problems of blue pill. And before downvoting me again, reread what i wrote. You can fap as much as you want UNTIL it causes psychological damage such as: loss of motivation, depression e.t.c. However if you want to be submitted to boundaries of this sub, good luck!

[–]RedwallAllratuRatbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

example - when I get rid of fat bitch that was providing me comfort by writing on facebook, even with my laziness I soon found replacement, that was much more fuckable So I made myself uncomfortable to better myself

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I'm in. I used to despise nofap, and I definitely think the powers are overstated by some on the nofap sub......that said, I'm 45 and been on a loooooong dry spell, for no good reason (I have 6 legit matches under 30 on Tinder since Saturday night, lift like your life depends on it, boys). A bit of horny desperateness would help (note to young guys, I have 21 years of LTR's under my belt, I've fucked at least 3000 times, I'm not talking teenage desperateness here, more like simple hunger).

[–]Pdd3 0 points1 point  (7 children)

I actually stopped fapping period and the returns are insane. Don't edge and don't watch erotic material. If your hand goes down to your pants remove it so you don't build up. The longest single run I had was 136 days and I'm working on topping that

[–]WolfofAnarchy 3 points4 points  (6 children)

How does NoFap make you feel?

[–]The_Anabolic_Asshole 0 points1 point  (5 children)

theres an entire sub dedicated to it, go and have a read lol

[–]WolfofAnarchy 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I know, but I'm asking him about his 'insane returns'

[–]RedwallAllratuRatbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you are in a situation when you just can't game women because the way they like to talk with you is too damn boring, nofap can make you more "stupid" and on her level - e.g. it can make you more of an animal, instead of some fucking philosopher

[–]Pdd3 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Well, there is a multitude of ways I can draw an argument from. First of all by cutting off porn and the very act I remove guilt, which in turns resonates in how I deal with people. Overcoming my urge for a cheap dopamine spike gives me pride and a feeling of control. When I approach girls I go into a high-risk high reward mode. I am more willing to take social risks if that's my only way of releasing sexual tension. It's a killing ground kinda thing. So those three + I save some time and disk space. There is also some health benefits that may cooncide with other habits I took up. Also seems to me that my lifts and martial art trainings I seem to perform better had I not tapped.

Hope that helps

[–]WolfofAnarchy 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Sounds great. Thanks. How many days you on now?

[–]Pdd3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I caved in after my longest streak late September I believe which makes it over a month now. Not sure what's your experience but even after as little as one week you see returns and again, it keeps on giving.

[–]Gallobrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this would also be a positive step for me as I can think of very few reasons not to attempt it. I'm in.

[–]anothermostlysilent 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I'm in. Haven't fapped since July 2005. Had a wife, she is divorcing me, she withdrew the physical relationship at the end of March. Haven't came at all since then

[–]Vincent_Marcus 0 points1 point  (3 children)

seriously? Does that take effort for you not to fap or do you just not enjoy doing it yourself at all?

[–]anothermostlysilent 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I had a certain religious experience one night and understood that for me, I was not going to be able to fap again. I was high on weed, but nonetheless it was real to me and the proof is in the pudding. After a few years it became a non-thing, besides I had the wife to take care of me. Only recently has it become a bit more difficult for obvious reasons, also I redpill from a Christian perspective so I only catch and release with girls.

[–]BaronIncognito 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Were you Christian before that experience? Would you mind sharing any more details about it?

[–]anothermostlysilent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, felt good to put it out there.
I became a Christian in May 2001, which is also the year I got married. Noticed I seemed to have a reoccurring thought after fapping, "I won't always do this".
As for the actual experience itself, it was July 26, 05'. I will lead up to it with this... As I was discovering how I felt about smoking weed and being a Christian my thoughts would always go to God, I would kind of be in a prayer state almost. For example, a common line of thought after smoking I would start talking with God, "Well God, what do you think? Is this wrong is it right? This is how I feel, this is what I am thinking and so on" etc. etc., trying to examine the fruits and see if it was a liberty I could have.

This became a bit of the routine and before long I found myself experiencing various revelations pertinent to my life.

This particular experience was the same, I don't think I can do it justice but here goes: I was home alone for the night and had just smoked, I walked to the kitchen and just stood there in my thoughts, oftentimes I would get this inner tremble in my body which always meant I was about to have an experience, I don't specifically remember but I assume this started taking place. So I am standing there between my kitchen and dining room and it took place in my head but I don't dare move until what was happening was over. From here I all I could describe are a bunch of strong feelings and emotions, the thoughts that were in my head seemed to be coming from without myself. I certainly can't remember the details of those thoughts/conversation but the jist of it was a reward if I don't fap and a punishment if I do, but it was like not just a little reward and not just a little punishment, and it was deep seeded in my soul, after the experience was done I became doubtful that I could do it, I immediately went by my bedside and and started praying that He would help me and realized that I will just have to take it one day at a time. I just know before this experience I never liked the feeling after fapping but I didn't really have the ability to stop. After some time went by it was not a problem anymore and I was really happy and thankful that I didn't fap any longer.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad I didn’t have to give up fap. Smoking weed was my keystone habit. I can now pursue life goals

[–]Nightfury2990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in OP! NoShave and NoFap November commences!!!

[–]GeneRD 1 points1 points [recovered]

How do you guys with 30+ days go to sleep? I tried many times and I cannot pass one week, because I just cannot fall asleep during nofap. The urges are way too insane. Whether it's by sex, imagination, or porn, I must release in order to fall asleep.

[–]BLXII 1 points1 points [recovered]

That’s called addiction dude. You’re too used to that dopamine rush

[–]GeneRD 1 points1 points [recovered]

What do you mean? I get a dopamine rush from brushing my teeth, petting my cat, or watching a movie.
