I challenged myself on Nov 1st to do 30 pushups and crunches every day. Just hit the halfway mark. Other than one slip up where it was a after midnight when I did them I'm doing well.

See I'm doing this trying to set a reachable goal to trick myself into a good habit.

Look up the 30 day squat challenge. Starting December 1st do that in addition to it as a pushup program. And instead of situps try doing timed plank holds. Start with 3 sets of 10 seconds adding 5 seconds each week. The last week you'll be doing 30 seconds, which isn't bad just starting out. After 2 months of doing this stuff you'll feel a lot better. At your weight you should also be doing something low intensity, but high volume to get your overall calorie burn up. A 3-4 mile hike twice a week is a good start.

Oh, the 450 was the amount of push-ups I had done so far this month.

30 push-ups all at once or in sets?

At once but some days I succumb to doing them in a 20/10 set. 20 pushups 30 crunches then the rest of pushups

That's good. If your form is good and you're going all the way down in a controlled motion then you're going to get something out of all that.

Read up on muscle adaptation theory. But only after you reach your goal, because I am against messing with a working thing.

A routine is more complex than just the means to reach a end.

You're right. Thanks. I am mostly doing this to promote a habit of exercising. Giving myself no excuses

How fast did you notice improvement? Im interested because I always thought training a muslce every day is never a good idea.

A couple weeks. The core was the significant difference.

It's just body weight. I wouldn't try this with resistance training.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
