Red Pill TheoryBriffault's Law (self.TheRedPill)

submitted by Modredpillschool

This has been posted a few times, and comes up in comments a lot, but we've got a lot of new users here...

BRIFFAULT’S LAW:

The female, not the male, determines all the conditions of the animal family. Where the female can derive no benefit from association with the male, no such association takes place.

There are a few corollaries I would add:

  • Past benefit provided by the male does not provide for continued or future association.

  • Any agreement where the male provides a current benefit in return for a promise of future association is null and void as soon as the male has provided the benefit (see corollary 1)

  • A promise of future benefit has limited influence on current/future association, with the influence inversely proportionate to the length of time until the benefit will be given and directly proportionate to the degree to which the female trusts the male (which is not bloody likely).

A woman's selfishness always exceeds her empathy.

If you wish to keep a woman around it must be based on her selfish interests first and always.

[–]polakfury 3 points4 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

A man always gotta be on the path of proving his worth for sure

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

True, but we gotta be proving our worth to ourselves chiefly. Don't put the pussy on the pedestal!

[–]polakfury 4 points5 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

we gotta be proving our worth to ourselves chiefly.

Yeah its up to us to make ourselves happy.

Briffault's Law is the key to using what we know about female hypergamy, solipsism, and ability to hamster (reverse rationalize any type of behavior or outcome). It makes everything fit together.

I think it's very interesting that many comedians have touched on this subject. Eddie Murphy "what have you done for me lately?" and Chris Rock "women can't go backwards in lifestyle, if you lose your job or your way of providing her with the type of life she enjoys, you'll lose your woman." Many others that I'm forgetting.

The most important thing I would say that RP has to offer on women wisdom is Briffault's Law, because so many men project THEIR way of calculating value onto women. Briffault's Law teaches you that the past doesn't matter to her; moreover, it doesn't EXIST to her in the same way it does to you.

As men, we store the past up in the logical annals of our mind. We view her behavior as a continuum, with her good and bad over time all weighing in. So we assume that she does the same. We assume that by paying for her law school, we'll accrue some credit, that she will correctly value our contribution and remember that AFTER she graduates.

No, after she graduates, she is incentivised to FORGET how she got there. Her brain wants to forget that she received our help and our propulsion to reach her position, it wants to hamster it as her accomplishment. And more importantly, she wants to use her position and exposure to more high status males to see if she can get a better contract.

The scary thing is that this woman will legitimately NOT REMEMBER all the things you did for her. The times you studied with her and encouraged her and helped her, the sacrifices you made, the marriage and promises to always support each other. It doesn't matter if she's your wife; the past does not exist to her like it does to you.

To you, the past is immutable. It is what it is, I mean, it's already happened. It's over, it can't be changed. One must accept and deal with it.

To her, the past is malleable. It's whatever she needs it to be to rationalize doing what she wants to do. The past is very real when she needs it to be, and it's nonexistent when she needs to justify breaking up and swinging to a higher branch.

Briffault's Law really is the glue; TRP will teach you how to accrue value and how to present it to women to get their attention, sex, arousal, and so on.

But understanding Briffault's Law is how you keep the carrot in front of their nose. Once they've eaten the carrot, you're done.

[–]ApexScorpion 6 points7 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

When I first heard about this, I could help but say "WTF? This is fucking insane."

Didn't even know something like this was even a factor. I literally had a girl forget what she said to me and certain events or actions just to justify her bs position. She hated me even more when I corrected her. I thought she was fucking faking it or lying and chalked it up to her not really caring about anything except what she wanted to "fit". Trippy shit to know that she probably wasn't faking and truly forgot and it's a common thing amongst women.

[–]RedSugarPill 0 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy Link

It's hard to know if she was gaslighting or was acting out Briffault's law. I have a hard time knowing the difference, but at some level it doesn't matter, as long as you recognize the source of cognitive dissonance.

[–]ApexScorpion 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Maybe they're linked, who knows. I didn't know shit about TRP but I just knew it was some bs going on. TRP gave it a name and a definition and voilà! Clarity and an anger phase to boot.

Yup.... why repay when you can just ditch him? The man has negative value to her - because if she leaves she also leaves the debt.

Always best to owe a woman ... never be owed by one because it devalues you in her eyes.

This was my first "red pill" experience. My first real relationship was honestly with a decent girl in every measurable sense. Smart, kind, actually majoring in something useful, even legitimately funny. When I was her rock, she was great and loyal. She constantly told her friends what an outstanding guy I was and how she was so lucky.

When I went through a rough time myself, which was due mostly to a good friend fucking dying, she turned cold almost instantly. No sympathy, no recognition of "wow, this great guy is going through an incredibly rough time, but I know he's awesome and I'm going to help him pull through it". All she saw was weakness and she noped right out of there.

The hilarious end to this story is that I found out later a guy she was dating cheated on her and she stuck with him and made excuses. Because apparently showing weakness was an exponentially greater sin than cheating.

[–]RP_Vergil 1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

This was my biggest take away from TRP when I just started. I was in utterly shattered that what I've done for my ex was considered "Strangulation to the relationship" and I'm "suffocating" her and "stifling" her decisions.

The realization of the Briffault's Law was even significant on when I had to deal with my sister who kicked me out of the house for "not contributing to the household", simply because she was jealous of how much my mother depend on me to get things done and she can't get the affection from her.

You can't hold a Woman accountable for her decisions, neither can you trust the amout of goodwill you've contribute to her before. That's why live for yourself as a priority is important. No one is going to pity you when you're down, not even the Woman whom you helped before because you're of no value now to them.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

"You can't hold a Woman accountable for her decisions, neither can you trust the amout of goodwill you've contribute to her before." So true. My parents were on holiday two weeks ago. While they were away my sister used my dads car to drive to a party with two friends. She then drove back while being drunk and ran into a post. She could go on but the car was heavily damaged in the front part and when she arived home she immidately started to cry and told me what happened.
But guess what.
When our parents came home she tould them that one night I used the car and I ran into a post. I was standing right beside her as she told this lie and she didn't even blink. She made this shit her fucking own reality (just remember Michelle Fields and Lewandowski) and didnt have a single doubt about the bullshit that was coming out of her mouth. But because my parents know that I am more trustworthy they didn't believe her.
Now my sister hates me even more.
It's ridiculous to see how even your sister will throw you under the bus without bad conscience.
I will finally move out of this house in 5 month when I finally graduated from university. I will turn 23 by then and my redpill journey will pick up pace. I can't wait for it to happen.

Briffault's Law applies not just to individual women, but to The Feminine Imperative as a whole. What is feminism but Briffault's Law writ large? For thousands of years men protected and provided for women, fought for them, worked for them, died for them. Then, as soon as we built up civilization with machines to do the heavy lifting opening up a lot of 'soft' employment, it was all "Women have been oppressed throughout history! Look, you won't let us into the Golf Club, you won't let us be trial judges! All the companies that men have built are being run by men!"

Not the merest hint in anything in feminism that women actually owe something to men for what we have given them. Gratitude is not exactly a female characteristic.

[–]kazaul 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

This is all too true - and something so many people fuck up with. You are always second. If you're lucky (cursed) enough to think this way yourself, you'll notice how weird the world gets.

I really wish I could share my personal experience with a whole bunch of men because I think it exemplifies exactly this sort of rationale. But I don't think many guys would get it.

Once you've seen how the world really works, how people (not just women) really act, it's all just a matter of moving pieces to your benefit. With women you have to move more, with men less. At the end of the day, there is no absolute truth. It's all relative and - in that vein - ultimately meaningless unless you give it meaning.

Great comment.

[–]Trucks_N_Chainsaws 8 points9 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

In hood terms, "You're only as good as your last earn."

[–]NumbersPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

And in Janet Jackson terms ' what have you done for me lately '

[–]dantesrage13 -1 points0 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Thanks for this. I will always remember this phrase. Especially when you can define "earn" as anything. For example it can mean "alpha encounter". Have 10 alpha encounters with a girl and then have one beta encounter and she'll remember you as a beta. You're only as good as your last earn... How many times at work has someone excelled at work, then had one bad day and all of a sudden you ain't shit anymore. Same principles apply. Or times where you've done something for someone many times but the one time you can't do it they reply with "ok I'll remember that the next time you ask for something then".

but in a way it makes sense. It's like going to the same store to buy milk every Monday, then one Monday you have no money. You can't just say "but all the times I've bought milk from here in the past don't count?". Nope.

[–]1ToSeeAndToHear 4 points5 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

Briffault's Law can be legislated against in society. In many societies through history, a woman's association was limited by culture to the man she was married to on threat of violence, and that marriage choice was made by her father.

Obviously, that doesn't mean cheating didn't happen. But like a good wall keeps a ceiling from obeying the pressures of the law of gravity and falling on your head, social mores that encourage monogamy resist Briffault's Law.

[–]TheGatherHunter 2 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah, it can be. But the opposite is happening in today's society. It's being legislated that there are significant financial advantages for a woman leaving a man, and that's why ~70% of divorces are initiated by women and probably ~15% that are joint filings were her idea.

I think it's enough to just remove the advantages from divorce and see if she still thinks it's a good idea to have to survive on her own abilities.

[–]1ToSeeAndToHear 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

You're absolutely right, modern society has taken Briffault's Law and reinforced it with societal legal penalties.

[–]1Entropy-7 3 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

No fault divorce is perhaps the ultimate manifestation of this.

[–]lurkythelurkingbean10 points [recovered] (13 children) | Copy Link

In my opinion, this is the biggest oversight of feminism: that they do not accept/understand this law. Women are already more powerful than men, in terms of shaping the world, because men have to constantly achieve to keep women around. Men are the grunt laborers, the bodies to hold the weapons, while women were designed by nature to be the ones directing us from the background.

I used to see it as a financial deal, where guys are constantly making interest-only payments, only to get fucked 30 years later when you still have a huge principal. Now I've come to see it more like a movie career: a director would certainly ditch an actor who could only use lines from his last movie, and he'd be perfectly justified in doing so.

I could give a laundry list of why this is a bad idea and would not work.

[–]lurkythelurkingbean4 points [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, yeah, I know it would never work in reality. It's just so nice to see the front page not full of complete shit for once

[–]RedSugarPill 2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

TBH sometimes I post complete shit (my last OP was a poorly executed, and heavily downvoted rant). But I learn from my mistakes and try to improve in that domain as well. The participation keeps the community engaged.

And I love what RPS did today. Maybe it should happen every full moon or something..

Then don't come here? Or just follow endorsed users. Or just go to another TRP forum where only approved people can post.

The amount of crying on this sub is hilarious.

So stop adapting?

[–]lurkythelurkingbean0 points [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

If by "adapting," you mean "being overrun by noise because of the influx of people who have no idea what they're talking about compared to endorsed contributors, yet feel the need to post garbage anyway so they can feel all alpha bruh," then...yes.

If by "adapting," you mean some way of adjusting to this noise to let the signal come through, then no. In my ideal world, only those who had proven their merit in comments on previous posts (ECs or at least those with a few points) could post new topics. We might lose a bit of signal that way, but we would certainly reduce the noise.

When you think you can't learn anything from a beginner you have finally become rutted in your world view.

[–]lurkythelurkingbean3 points [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

Wow, you seem to be pretty upset at what I said. Maybe hitting a little too close to home?

It's not that I can't learn anything from a fresh perspective, it's more that I don't really get anything out of people repeating verbatim the same ideas without adding any attempt at insight. I've seen many posts that conclude with something along the lines of "lessons learned: AWALT." Okay? So? That's already discussed prettttty thoroughly around here. If you think you have something to add onto that, or a new take on what AWALT could mean, fine, I'm all ears. But the lack of creativity and critical thinking around here is staggering, and I feel like a lot of people just post for the sake of posting

[–]IAMAwhitecismaleAMA 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Wow, you seem to be pretty upset at what I said. Maybe hitting a little too close to home?

Nice try with the reframe lol save your TRP tricks for bluepers.

Those AWALT posts tend to be short and simple so I either skip them or skim through to see what the specific example was. It's always helpful to see what irl examples arise sop that I'm ready should I ever be in that situation.

You sound like one of those "All people with an iq below 100 should be killed off" not realizing that next year your iq score will drop because the score is based off those below you.

[–]1Jax77789 0 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy Link

"driecting us from the background". I disagree. Women do not direct anything. They follow their feels and these feels that make them open their asses do not necessarily stem from you being a successful man in life.

I also think that you can keep a bitch around while being a low-life. Women's entering of the professions has rendered null the burden of performance to a certain extent.

[–]lurkythelurkingbean2 points [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

It's not a perfect analogy, you're right. I don't think they do it consciously, which is why I think there's such a large movement of "women are oppressed." They don't see what's really going on and how they have actually shaped society. But it's like, almost everything that a man does on some level is done to impress/keep/take a woman. It follows that women have some subconscious control over what gets done.

For instance, if women could somehow make themselves be turned on by only astronauts, we'd have space exploration down in a generation. Does what I'm getting at make sense?

[–]1Jax77789 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Interesting. What you are describing here is hypergamy. You are right in that it is a driving factor of our species, no question about it. However, women's selection is but a manifestation of the larger Will to survive that is to be found in all life forms. You get up to get food in some way because if you do not, you die. Only then do the women enter the scene and select the best "survivor" she can get.

That a man does things to please a woman is therefore at best secondary in his priorities. What he does to please a woman necessarily comes after his more immediate need for survival.

Immediate survival > Reproduction. Hypergamy is tied to reproduction and is then of secondary importance. The driving force of your actions is your environnement and it is the environnement that determines, controls what gets done. Women only "choose" who does best in said environnement.

Clouds in the sky tell you you have to run. Women stand at the finish line and fuck the three best runners.

Lmao, you got me thinking like crazy !

When i joined TRP some years ago...this is the core of internalizing TRP. This is the only thing you need to know if you had access to one thing on the sidebar. I would choose this to remind me of TRP.

What about the treat women like children idea?

[–]filitantmeminist 2 points3 points  (5 children) | Copy Link

Alright let me play devils advocate. Doesnt this go both ways? If a 3D pig womyn hits on George Clooney, obviously he wants nothing from her and no relationship takes place.

I fully understand this law but do not fully understand how it is one sided.

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 5 points6 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

It's based on averages. An average woman has more power in the sexual marketplace than an average man.

Obviously if George Clooney wants to go dumpster diving, he could have all the power in the world. But don't think actors or other high status males are immune to Briffault's Law. Just look how many actors get taken to the cleaners in divorce.

[–]filitantmeminist 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Ok, when I think about it in small town, factory worker culture around me that makes total sense. Thanks

[–]Senior EndorsedMattyAnon 6 points7 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I fully understand this law but do not fully understand how it is one sided

Men tend to appreciate help, be grateful, and often repay it.

Women - they take take take and then branch swing.

It's why women get into more debt - they expect to keep taking and then change banks. Horrifies them when they find it doesn't work like that. Then they get married to offload the debt.

[–]1Entropy-7 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

As a fictional example, look at 50 Shades of Grey, which is (unwittingly?) filled with RP truths, even this one given that she dumps his ass at the end.

[–]TheDarkTriad 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I have to admit, I've never fully understood Briffault's law. Can someone explain this to me?

Is it basically saying that the female decides who she associates herself with (romantically, sexually, etc) and if their are no benefits to associating with a particular male then she will choose not to do so?

[–]Lenovojunk 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Thanks for Posting it.

[–]ransay3277 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Quite frankly, if you understand this law, you understand women and their actions.

.BRIFFAULT’S LAW - When you see it for what it is, you stop entering into covert (or even overt) contracts with women. You invest in yourself but never in a woman or a relationship because it's a depreciating asset at best.

Someone else posted this before on this topic. (Sorry I cannot give credit to their username)
