Long time lurker; first time reddit poster.

Discovered this sub over a year ago and it has changed my relationship for the better on lots of levels.

My Captain is an amazing man and still “courts” me all the time. One of his best ideas has been Shower Time.

Most mornings, he lights a couple of candles and some incense in the bathroom and runs the shower to warm the room up for me. I wash and condition my hair and wash my body. He washes my back, legs, feet, and more intimate areas. Then I turn the shower off, he wraps me in a towel and hand me my coffee that he made for me while I was washing my hair.

Acts of service and quality time are his languages of love. He makes me feel like a queen every day. I’m a very lucky woman.

...Well damn. That sounds nice.

I used to date a guy who turn the lights off and turn on a Bluetooth speaker that had disco lights. Our shower time would be us dancing around and being silly. He would also warm up my towels in the dryer before I got out.

You could return the favor by warming up his towels or making his favorite drink too :)

Being playful with your partner is super important. So many people forget that!

I try to do nice, little things for him often. Tonight I’ll make us both coconut milk hot chocolates with toasted marshmallow topping. We’ve both given up alcohol and are a little dairy intolerant!

I think the best thing about this isn’t the grand romantic gesture of sensual shower time. It’s that you both understand each other’s needs and each other’s love languages. If my man did this it would feel contrived because it’s just not him. But if he left me fresh towels in the washroom and had gotten some nice-smelling hotel soaps from his business trip, my heart would swell with gratitude.

That is so sweet. Reading about love languages helped me a lot. I also try to imagine him complexly. I definitely stumble, but we just have to recommit every morning and try to keep bettering ourselves as partners and people. :)

My honey is the same.

He always says he is the lucky one, but I have literally no idea how. I am so pampered by him. My bar was pretty low when I met him and now if anything ever happened I wouldn't even be able to find anyone who would be able to replace the love & kindness he shows me.

It’s lovely to hear someone so happy! When you find yourself harrumphing about something which is grating on your nerves, it can help so much to list your partners great qualities to yourself. It often gives me scope on just what a good man he is.

Loving Showers are always my favorite :D

My Boyfriend and I always take nice hot baths together and wash each other in the dark with candles.

Showering my candlelight has blown my mind. I never thought something as simple as lighting could turn showering into such a luxury.

Our bathroom ceilings are quite high so we don’t suffer them too much! Glass votives could be a good solution to smoke stains though!

Aww this is lovely! My partner spoils me at shower time, too. We sometimes shampoo each other’s hair, but we always wash each other’s backs. We’ll occasionally take turns washing each other head to toe. He sneaks out before I’m done, but he always hands me my towel. afterward he loves to dry my hair. Apparently he’s never desired to dry a partner’s hair, and I certainly have never had one dry my hair so it’s been really nice!
