It's been an interesting year folks, and what started as a small subreddit a little over a year ago has turned into one of the most talked about subreddits on the entire site, from 10 subscribers likely to cross 26,000 by the end of the week!

As a mod, I've had a lot of interesting experiences. A radio interview on BBC radio, random reporters contacting me and misquoting me (thanks Business Insider!), a few run-ins with trolls (maybe one or two), and probably a thousand or so link flairings (come on guys, flair your own links dammit).

But every so often I run across a member who details how the red pill has improved their lives, helped them through hard times, or opened their eyes to the world around them, and it reminds me why we're here and doing this. I'm happy to see how things have turned out so far, and I'm looking forward to another year in the manosphere. We're getting too big to ignore, so let's see what happens next.

I've been alerted that the 2013 best of awards are now taking place and I think it would be good to take part and see just what our community has achieved during the year.

There will be five categories, the winner of each category will receive 1 month of free Reddit Gold!

The Categories

Most Thought-Provoking Submission: What submission was really insightful and caused the best conversation to take place?

Most Paradigm Changing Revelation: Comment or text-submission, must be text on our sub, not a blog post. What tidbit or diatribe really changed your perspective on everything you understand? What has rocked your world view the most?

Best Overall Submitter: Who has submitted the best, most consistent quality content this year?

Best Waking-Up Story: What story of somebody taking the red pill did you connect with the most?

Best Field Report: What field report demonstrated red pill ideas in the field the best?

Rules

  • One nomination per comment, and take care to comment in reply to the category you're nominating for.

  • Nominations can only consider posts and data from the year 2013.

  • The nomination must have a clear winner. It must be a single person who has not deleted their account or removed themselves from their submission. This includes posts and comments which have since been removed or deleted.

  • Please include as much data as possible when nominating, and make a good case. Provide a url to the user or comment. Our automod is being modified to allow links in this post.

  • Winners will be chosen by highest number of upvotes, and due to brigading downvotes will be ignored.

Best Waking-Up Story: What story of somebody taking the red pill did you connect with the most?

[–]TRP VanguardHumanSockPuppet 55 points56 points  (6 children) | Copy Link

This was the best damn awakening I'd ever read about, hands down:

http://www.reddit.com/r/TheRedPill/comments/1i9f1r/my_beta_brother_just_had_his_eyes_opened_to_the/

[–]TheEyeUrnShaft 10 points11 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Brutal cliffhanger though:

And with that one word, I swear, it was like a light came on behind my brother's eyes. I could actually see the instant he

[–]dimmak 3 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

...discovered how much his "friendship" with a woman was worth to her.

[–]through_a_ways 2 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

One thing didn't make sense. If the girl knew almost nothing about this guy, how did she know where to find his brother's (OP's) house? Or was that info mentioned in the phone call?

Entertaining and believable story nonetheless.

[–]randomkloud 2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

he mentions that she was a family friend.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

I agree this one was amazing. Well written except for the last sentence

[–]dimmak 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

The last sentence became the tl;dr.

[–][deleted] 15 points16 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I nominate /u/GoinDownDaRabbitHole. He submitted his first post to relationships, or some other sub about his fat wife and her two kids from a previous relationship, and wound up here, after which he got results applying RP theory to his relationship, then filed for divorce and is now on his way to becoming a true man.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

Not sure if I can nominate myself, but whatever.

Omega To Red

Waking up story

[–]Hypnot0ad 4 points5 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

Don't forget who brought you here!

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah, dude! I practically owe you my life. I'll send you an Internet beer.

[–]Hypnot0ad 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Haha thanks! But I just kid. After being treated how you were I'm sure you'd have found your way here eventually.

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 26 points27 points  (26 children) | Copy Link

Most Paradigm Changing Revelation: Comment or text-submission, must be text on our sub, not a blog post. What tidbit or diatribe really changed your perspective on everything you understand? What has rocked your world view the most?

[–]PinkfloydPurplefloyd 27 points28 points  (10 children) | Copy Link

http://www.reddit.com/r/TheRedPill/comments/1j6ylv/how_do_you_stop_a_partner_from_cheating/cbbwqby

An explanation on why women cheat from The_Pua_Punnany as well as why it is important to have a self-esteem independent to women. It's accessible and slightly humourous and for me its one of the most mindblowing posts I have read on this site barring the sidebar material itself.

[–]puaSenator 9 points10 points  (7 children) | Copy Link

Everything this guy says is golden. Too bad he's been banned. Seriously. I hope he wins this so he can start posting here again. It would be of tremendous value to the sub. Instead, he's just posting in his private sub of 100+ people which doesn't do the community as a whole a lot of good.

[–]PinkfloydPurplefloyd 3 points4 points  (6 children) | Copy Link

Banned? When was this?

[–]md6192 points3 points  (5 children) | Copy Link

A couple months ago. I have no idea if it's true or not, but if I remember right he said he was banned because his views were too extreme for /u/redpillschool's taste.

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 3 points4 points  (4 children) | Copy Link

I don't remember the details of the ban, but it was related to his attitude towards the mods. I wasn't the one who banned him but I do stand behind the mod team's decision.

[–]md61915 points16 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

That's ridiculous. You're going to ban a guy that dropped huge amounts of redpill knowledge and was a big asset to this community just because he didn't like you guys? You run a community with thousands of users, some of them are bound to have problems with you guys. That's just the reality of being in charge.

[–]Modredpillschool[S,M] 15 points16 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

This isn't a debate. You are operating on limited knowledge of the situation.

[–]puaSenator 22 points23 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I have knowledge on the situation, and at the end of the day he's in the wrong, but at the same time he's a great contributor. Quality content all around even though he can be a dick.

[–]sadshark 1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Wow. That post is abslotely amazing.

http://www.reddit.com/r/TheRedPill/comments/1icjpz/to_the_woman_who_wants_my_commitment_this_is_what/

This post is easily my all time favorite. I think about it at least once a day. It resonates with me and I'm sure many others on an impacting level. It really lays out all that is good about freedom as opposed to settling into uncertain commitment. Thanks /u/json_

[–]hashtagpound2point2 2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Never saw that post, but I absolutely love it.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Wow, that's a fantastic read

[–]migukin 0 points1 point  (3 children) | Copy Link

Can I just ask a certain question as I'm still unsure whether or not I fit in with the ideology of this sub. Do you believe that a slightly altered - but equal - set of cessations would have to be made by a woman when deciding if a man is worth it? Just curious.

[–]Rawhoth 1 point2 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

Absolutely. It can go both ways. In a way, this post is a sort of manifesto for anyone who wants to live their lives as untethered as they see fit. Only settling with someone if they are absolutely 100% sure they cannot go without that person in there life (Which ideally should be extremely rare). So yes, it's just as fitting for women. It's ultimately up to the individual to decide how to balance their freedom and commitment. This post is more an advocate of freedom and strict definition of the word "worth."

[–]migukin 0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

Excellent. I consider a lot of what feminism preaches ridiculous but I also wanted to make sure I'm not extreme on the other side. Because I know the classic female response to this would be "what makes you think YOU'RE worth it to ME? You egotistical prick." And outside of this being a genderless statement, they would have a point.

[–]Rawhoth 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Of course. Making the playing field uneven is to give feminists ammunition with which they can stir something out of proportion. As you said it's best not to deal with any extremities. One could rub people the wrong way and inadvertently toss all TRP knowledge out the window.

[–]1 TRP SupporterFred_Flintstone 2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

It may be a grey area whether this is actually by json_ , as its originally from the cracked article but he edited it...

[–]dongjwa -2 points-1 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

This is not "paradigm changing" at all, it is barely even related to TRP, just some standard realist-motivational crap.

[–]dvrzero 2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Dark triad. Machiavellian specifically. That shit is fucked up pragmatism.

Props to illimitableman!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (4 children) | Copy Link

Looks like my upvote is just offsetting a downvote unfortunately. Thanks

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 2 points3 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

We will only be counting upvotes.

[–]TheLoveOfWisdom 2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Spam filtering my counter-act this. They randomly add an equal number of upvotes and downvotes in order to obscure a spam bot's ability to gauge whether they're successful

[–]1 TRP SupporterFred_Flintstone 1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Scottish red pill has been nominated twice - you need to rectify this fast before this messes up the whole vote

edit: nice one

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

[–][deleted] 42 points43 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

/u/IllimitableMan has my nominaion

[–][deleted] 46 points47 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

/u/SoftHarem

You can just tell that guy is balls-deep in TRP and not projecting some power fantasy.

[–]_whistler 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]still_very_alive 2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I was wondering why it took so long for him to be nominated. He has some of the most consistently good stuff, even if it seems his life situation is somewhat atypical of RP.

[–]12FAM0US 5 points6 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

/u/2FAM0US overall most insightful. is living proof that RP can work. extremely handsome. volunteers at a children's hospital in his free time. also voted most famous.

[–]Modredpillschool[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

And most modest!

[–]ButterMyBiscuit 1 point2 points  (10 children) | Copy Link

/u/TheeRyanGrey makes good points while making me laugh.

[–]SE17 1 point2 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

Except he got called out on his bullshit story and then deleted it.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

there are 2 things i've never done on reddit

1.check my karma. 2.delete anything

if anything i've ever said isn't there, it's because someone removed it. so if you're going to run your mouth at least try and do it right

[–]TooTurnt 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Alot of great candidates, but this guy has been awesome. Consistently.

[–]Evers89 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Lol yeah except I always seem to be fighting with him. Most of his points are solid though.

[–]atlas87 -2 points-1 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

Agree with this. The one guy that has stood out to me the most has truly getting it.

[–]TRP Vanguard: "Dark Triad Expert"IllimitableMan 13 points14 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

  • This guy is obnoxious, often attacking other people like a rabid feminist rather than defending his points with logic. -1 point.

  • This guy was exposed for telling some fake story, then deleted it and ducked out of the sub. Credibility is a huge part of who you are as a man. -10 points.

  • You're all enamoured with how much of a fucking absolute cunt this guy is like a bunch of teenage girls getting played and then nailed by the high school jock. This guy is definitely not best submitter considering his track record. There are far more rational, intelligent people posting here such as /u/Archwinger or /u/TRPSubmitter.

To quote RebuildVer1 from: http://www.reddit.com/r/TheRedPill/comments/1roa61/please_stop_with_the_bitching_and_crying/

While I'm all for keeping this sub to a high standard of content, I don't think you're really one to give instructions or pass judgement on what defines "real men".

I remember only a few days ago, you posted a preposterous revenge fantasy and tried to pass it off as the truth to everyone here. It was ironically named "Non Alcoholic Beer Sorority Girls and the Truth" and you can revisit it here:

www. reddit. com /r/ TheRedPill/comments/1qnffg/nonalcoholic_beer_sorority_girls_and_the_truth/.

I'm sure that you'll recall that in that thread, you were called out by a number of people for inventing the entire story. When confronted, you responded by redoubling your lies and insulting everyone who called you out. Then days later it appears you deleted the thread and all your comments from it to hide your mistake. As far as I can tell, you've never owned up to your mistake or apologized for it.

You tried to gain validation here in a way that showed a serious lack of character and when called on it, you responded in a childish and dishonorable way. So with all due respect, I don't think you have the authority to judge people in this sub for "throwing tantrums", "crying", "not being a man" and posting good content as you clearly have a lot to learn about those areas yourself.

Oh, and your post here is just a concern trolling attention grab. So again, you really lack the moral high ground on this issue.

[–]RedSunBlue 3 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Ouch.

The two most powerful weapons by /u/excessory

http://www.reddit.com/r/TheRedPill/comments/1mqhhn/the_two_most_powerful_weapons_in_a_mans/

This is a solid overall post. Not a wall of text, just a quick synopsis of the best power moves you can pull in a relationship

[–]Noxor0 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

I like the simplicity of this one. Responds to OP nicely.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

/u/SoftHarem hits the nail on the head when he discusses the differences between feelings of attraction among men and women. Harsh, but true advice that demonstrates even in marriage you always have to stay on the pinnacle of your game to keep things running smoothly.

[–]TRP VanguardHumanSockPuppet 2 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

I liked this one too. He gets to the heart of RP ideology, and he adds the power of a strong yet succinct "sound byte" that perfectly snapshots the whole post.

[–]chill_geddy 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Insight from a Tarot Card reader

http://www.reddit.com/r/TheRedPill/comments/1il208/how_women_think_from_a_fake_psychic_experience/

Best parts:

  • "Sometimes I told them the guy was very dominant and was used to all kind of dirtiness, and the cards were afraid she will not be prepared because she has a limited sex experience. Women were never scared about this part, always interested in this kind of guy, no matter if I spoke about soft BDSM, anal new experiences or lack of sexual protection." - this really opened my eyes to the fact i was too vanilla in bed. I embraced being dirtier with excellent results on all women rather than just experienced women. I'd heard this before, but it was when this guy who was talking to the inner mind of woman-kind anonymously said all women were like this did things click for me.

  • "They always wanted to cheat their partners, just wanted to be sure the other guy was what they imagined and only wanted to leave the husband once they have the other guy confirmed (and fucked)."

  • The part at the end about inability to see fairness/equality.

A very unique post.

[–]a1004 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Thanks (I submitted this), but some of the others nominations are far better than that.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

http://www.reddit.com/r/TheRedPill/comments/1rum0x/increasing_confidence_without_having_sex/ by u/rp_manifesto

I think this one was good because it is very personal/meta in the sense that is 100% internal game. Leave out all the exterior material things and focus on yourself for improvement. Take a step back if/when you need to. Look at your body, health, finances and make the necessary adjustments because it wont happen on its own.

[–]Ormild 7 points8 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

It's posts like these that people never see when it comes to TRP. It's ones like these that shape who I am over the other posts about women hamstering their way out situations. I personally don't care much for those type of posts, but they help open my eyes to the different thought process between men and women. At the end of the day, I know if I keep developing my hobbies, dressing better, continue getting bigger from lifting, finishing school, getting a good job and moving up, and develop my game, then I can live a life of abundance.

People from other subreddits will never understand the core principles of TRP unless they bother digging past the front page.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

The first comment in the thread is almost more important imo

http://www.reddit.com/r/TheRedPill/comments/1rmk00/i_am_going_to_fuck_your_girlfriend/ by /u/RedSunBlue.

I wouldn't say it was the most intellectual post but it was stirring enough to make waves in TRP. Personally, I felt it was a much needed post to demonstrate the harsh realities of our world around us and it generated a lot of replies. People who weren't ready to accept the truth were turned away.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

Why the hell are there so many deleted comments in this thread?

[–]RedSunBlue 5 points6 points  (0 children) | Copy Link
